and why the fuck are there micro-transactions like that in a game you already payed for? i get the ftp model. however, if you are paying full price you shouldn't be put at a disadvantage for not paying extra for food, ammo, and weapons.
There is no disadvantage. If you spend money on food and "weapons" you're a fucking idiot. There's plenty in the world to find.
You're missing the point. You don't have to bother looking for food, drinks and ammo if you can just buy it off of the shop, meaning the survival aspect of the game is just not getting shot / eaten by zombies.
you'll burn up your money fast, and I mean FAST if you rely on the store to keep yourself replenished.
There is no disadvantage. If you spend money on food and "weapons" you're a fucking idiot. There's plenty in the world to find.
all things equal except the micro-transactions and the person who doesn't spend money is at a disadvantage. and if it's so easy to find food in the game it's still a fault of the game-developers for implementing them in the first place. they are either having you pay for an advantage, or tricking you into thinking you are getting an advantage.

If they want to spend money to have some ingame currency that's their problem, and they don't have an advantage over anyone in the game.
Still, it gives an advantage since one does not have to look for such in-game.
They have as much as an advantage as the cunts who make a living spending money to open crates in TF2 which is nothing
So by completely removing most of the survival part of the game gives no advantage at all? Sounds like a great game alright
"omg they're using keys to open crates on tf2!! that's removing the randomized loot drop aspect of the game!! it's ruined!1" They can have all the food they want, but if they want to try and gank me in the world there's nothing in the store they can buy to give them an advantage over me. I have no problem with it.
fault of the game developers not the players
how The player is the one who actively decided to just buy random shit off the store without actually experiencing the game first hand. That's like a new guy picking up TF2, going into the store and seeing all of these awesome weapons and shit, then spending hundreds of dollars on weapons and cosmetic packs just to find out they drop randomly in the game, and getting all buttmad guess who's going to give a fuck or sympathize with that guy? NO ONE.
It'd be a gimmick. An unneeded measure. All it would cause is more deaths because dickhole bandits would camp lakes for some stupid asshole to try and swim across.
because dickhole bandits will kill more players by monitoring the entire lake rather than the three bridges people can currently use to get across, right
The devs made it so you can survive really easy if you use real money. That's fucking dumb
I have to respectfully disagree. The only thing that really makes it easier to survive (against PvP, which is the real threat) is the light vest, but even that doesnt help that much. No matter how many guns you have, no matter how many optics or food or MREs or hats or mele weapons, you WILL be killed by only a few bullets no matter what.
The devs made it so you can survive really easy if you use real money. That's fucking dumb
You can't survive real easy if you use real money because the money you have to spend to get the food is actually pretty high and you'd have to spend a lot of fucking money to keep yourself replenished with how fast your food and drink status drop. No one is going to buy food and drink off the store to give themselves and advantage and you would have to treck to the safe zone EVERY TIME to pick up the shit you just bought so fair enough if they can survive the travel to the safe zone to buy the useless shit they bought with their own fucking money they deserve to keep it. You can NOT buy something off the store and just wizard it into your inventory, that is not how the game works. It'd be sitting in your global bank which you would have to treck to a safe zone to pick up.
You can't survive real easy if you use real money because the money you have to spend to get the food is actually pretty high and you'd have to spend a lot of fucking money to keep yourself replenished with how fast your food and drink status drop.
THEN WHY IS IT IN THE GAME?!
BECAUSE IF YOU MAKE A NEW CHARACTER YOU CAN GIVE HIM SHIT FROM YOUR GLOBAL BANK BUT THE CHANCES OF YOU DIEING WITH ALL THAT FANCY REAL MONEY FOOD YOU JUST BOUGHT IS REALLY FUCKING HIGH SO YOU PROBABLY SHOULDN'T BE SPENDING MONEY ON FOOD IN THE FIRST PLACE.
They can have all the food they want, but if they want to try and gank me in the world there's nothing in the store they can buy to give them an advantage over me. I have no problem with it.
what about the spiked bats, health kits and extra ammo and attachments for guns I really don't care about how the gameplay actually plays out according to your macho survival scenario, what I'm saying here is that a guy can outfit themselves with extra items when they spawn and instantly become a player that, even if only by a bit, is more effective at killing others, purely because they spent real money on upgrades.
THEN WHY IS IT IN THE GAME?! if it's so fucking worthless as you put it then the game developers are putting worthless shit into the game and duping new players into spending money on it.
Uh, what if somebody decides to camp the fuck out of a safe zone, buy food and ammo and pick it up and then wander back outside of it yet still remain quite close to it. That's a load of bull, it turns the entire " Scavenge for shit to survive " into " Jerk around and shoot everybody "
if they want to spend money to not play the game, what the fuck is the problem
THEN WHY IS IT IN THE GAME?! if it's so fucking worthless as you put it then the game developers are putting worthless shit into the game and duping new players into spending money on it.
They're not forcing anyone to use it, it's an option there for player to use if they so wish. Just like TF2.
what about the spiked bats, health kits and extra ammo and attachments for guns
Spiked bats : only medium teir melee weapon. Isn't that great. Health kits: you can find plenty scavenging stores or farmacies Extra ammo: you can find plenty of these in stores, police stations, cars, military bases, fortified encampments, cities, the list fuckin goes on attachments: The only thing of real worth which you can still find in the world, albiet more rarer than anything else in the store, but it's going to be worthless when you fucking die. Which you are going to.
They're not forcing anyone to use it, it's an option there for player to use if they so wish. Just like TF2.
yea because valve seriously deceives new players into buying all the items off their ingame store right?
SO YOU PROBABLY SHOULDN'T BE SPENDING MONEY ON FOOD IN THE FIRST PLACE.
I'm not getting into this argument but you did just contradict yourself.
I'm not getting into this argument but you did just contradict yourself.
my entire argument has been against buying shit in the store, how did I contradict myself.
yea because valve seriously deceives new players into buying all the items off their ingame store right?
I don't see how they're deceiving anyone. I sure as fuck wasn't decieved, I guess it's because I have a working functioning brain
my entire argument has been against buying shit in the store, how did I contradict myself.
no your entire argument is "the warz developers are not at fault for their shitty item store even though i admit the item store is shitty and dupes players into spending more money than necessary on the game"
no your entire argument is "the warz developers are not at fault for their shitty item store even though i admit the item store is shitty and dupes players into spending more money than necessary on the game"
How does it dupe players into spending more money on the game. There's cosmetic items in the shop which you can only get from the shop, but that's just it. It's COSMETIC. You don't HAVE to buy keys to play TF2 but if a player spends money on keys has he been duped? It's pretty much the fucking same, except when you spend money on keys in TF2 sometimes you can get a fancy e-peen enhancing hat.
The blunder of the century
How does it dupe players into spending more money on the game. There's cosmetic items in the shop which you can only get from the shop, but that's just it. It's COSMETIC.
because you can buy survival items in the store? idc about the fucking hats because they are obviously cosmetic. i care about the fact that survival is either made easier by paying money, or players are being tricked into thinking that survival is made easier by paying money. either way it's warz developers being greedy and shitting up their own game.
You don't HAVE to buy keys to play TF2 but if a player spends money on keys has he been duped? It's pretty much the fucking same, except when you spend money on keys in TF2 sometimes you can get a fancy e-peen enhancing hat.
yea but everyone knows what they are getting with a key. they know that they are getting a chance at a purely cosmetic item. no one buys hats thinking they will improve their gameplay. the weapons are iffy, but as i said weapons in tf2 are balances enough so that buying a new weapon doesn't actually give you an advantage necessarily.
I'm done posting in this thread, it's not like I'm going to convince you guys in any direction, you're stuck and firm in believing in whatever you believe in, and this conversation is going in loops. Enjoy your circle jerk, I'm off elsewheres

Of fucking course we aren't going to change our mind that "that's hilariously stupid"

Actually, I will admit something. War Z is far from a perfect game, I can realize this. And sometimes its flaws bother me. But Day Z isn't any better. I'm just taking what there is until something else that is better comes out. War Z will be my cup of poison til some new company creates something bigger and better, which there ought to be soon with all of the people taking interest in this genre. Just because something is the first or few in numbers doesn't mean it doesn't deserve criticism. I've had a good time in War Z and that's all that matters to me. I got a little heated but if you don't want to try the game and if you want to criticize it that's up to you.
I thought that was Red Orchestra 2
RO 2 was a car crash, WarZ is a train wreck.
You're right, they both suck horribly.
This I will agree with. I'm excited for the path they're paving.
