Actually, I will admit something. War Z is far from a perfect game, I can realize this. And sometimes its flaws bother me. But Day Z isn't any better. I'm just taking what there is until something else that is better comes out. War Z will be my cup of poison til some new company creates something bigger and better, which there ought to be soon with all of the people taking interest in this genre. Just because something is the first or few in numbers doesn't mean it doesn't deserve criticism. I've had a good time in War Z and that's all that matters to me. I got a little heated but if you don't want to try the game and if you want to criticize it that's up to you.
I never played day z but it annoys me when people compare full games to mods, wait for the standalone before fully comparing. But i have played wayz and got a refund a month later, in my opinion its not a good game, and the devs are dodgy as fuck, which is a shame because warz had the potential to be a good game. Also the blunder of the century would be Brink.
I had fun with this game, despite it's mediocre graphics. Kinda like how I enjoyed Morrowind, KOTOR, Penumbra, Borderlands, Age of Empires, and other games that have "mediocre" graphics. I even encouraged a bunch of my friends to buy the game too, and we've already spent 50+ hours playing it. Well worth the $15, but even if it wasn't, that's about the same price as a mediocre meal at a restaurant. Certainly nothing to whine about.
i can't believe anyone's defending this shitsack of a game [editline]18th December 2012[/editline]
I had fun with this game, despite it's mediocre graphics. Also how you do you spend 50 hours in this game. Simply running to places and dying??
I feel sorry for you and your friends. Also how you do you spend 50 hours in this game. Simply running to places and dying??
Yeah, he had fun with his friends and felt that his money was returned with joy. We should pity him.
Yeah, he had fun with his friends and felt that his money was returned with joy. We should pity him.
Oh come on. The point I'm playing at is if he "enjoyed" a game of this quality, imagine him spending his money and time on quality titles. He'd probably have a much better experience.
The War Z had all the right pieces to be a great game but they mucked it up. Bad.
DayZ has all those pieces :/
Oh come on. The point I'm playing at is if he "enjoyed" a game of this quality, imagine him spending his money and time on quality titles. Exactly the same problem I've been having The game starts you off in the middle of fucking nowhere with 0 tools to defend yourself and the only tools you can get to actually help defend yourself are inside buildings that are constantly being guarded by zombies in a town absolutely filled with zombies New players just get to suck dicks and die because there is no possible way you can play this game and actually get somewhere unless you have a posse of 10 people helping In an attempt to get SOMETHING done I tried to hack it and you know what, it was still so fucking awful and unbearable I couldn't even play the game with a million wallhacks on, it did let me see that a town with 200 zombies only had about 3 items in it though, what utter garbage
RO 2 was a car crash, WarZ is a train wreck.
More like a plane crashing on 2km long vehicle pileup. Comparing RO2 with that is unfair.
My steam friend was going to buy it but i showed him this video and he immediately changed his mind about it afterwards so thank you for posting this
I regretfully purchased the survivor package ($20) before the game was public to play the game and make my own opinion on it. Upon playing it, I was very disappointed. It's downright boring and an obvious cash grab. "Oh it's alpha/beta/unfinished, things aren't ready yet, it'll get better" Yeah bullshit. They've spent loads of resources on the marketing and advertisement of this game, setting up the pathetic item store, but very little on the core gameplay itself. DayZ is a FREE MOD made by ONE PERSON, and it's much, MUCH better than this 'game'. This thing...warz... ugh. It's ugly, it's sluggish/clunky, it runs like arse, it's barely playable... i could overlook these flaws if the game itself was enjoyable, but it's not. It's The Bore Z.
My steam friend was going to buy it but i showed him this video and he immediately changed his mind about it afterwards so thank you for posting this
Whew, we saved someone.
Whew, we saved someone.
Yeah he kept saying how promising the screenshots looked on the store, until i showed him the video
Yeah he kept saying how promising the screenshots looked on the store, until i showed him the video
Lying cunts The screenshots and features list sound really promising, but no, all of them are just flat out lies
This I will agree with. I'm excited for the path they're paving.
I'd like to congratulate you on your triumphant backpedaling skills
Yikes this look horrible. However I'd totally play it if they add trucks in the game that handle JUST like they do in Big Rigs :v:
I'm not saying the game ( and the PR ) isn't pretty terrible, but through the whole video it seemed he wasn't very objective. He even ranted about how terrible the stealth mechanic was, having charged a city with a spiked bat. Of course there's a lot of valid points, but it's really hard to take a review seriously when all the guy is looking for are flaws, some of which aren't even there.

Like he said at the beginning of the video he hadn't seen anything of WarZ prior to playing it.

A survival game where you can buy survival goods. Genius game design. Reminds me of the Saints Row 3 DLCs that let you straight download respect (experience) modifiers and unlocks from the campaign. Paying to make the game easier seems to defeat the point.
I was gonna buy WarZ but I'm gonna go get Revelations 2012 instead. It's more value for the money.
Honestly I have no problem with people buying survival items such as food and water since not everyone will want to really partake in that part of the game or would not want to completely start over after they die. In my opinion it's a reasonable thing to do, it's a bonus for people who want to pay but it doesn't necessarily do it in a way that bones people who don't. It's a way to appeal to a wider, more casual, audience and in that sense it makes business sense since it will bring in more players. The ammo is a different story, and the dev team can go fuck themselves for that. It directly punishes people who do not pay once they have a gun, and makes ammo conservation not an issue.
I was gonna buy WarZ but I'm gonna go get Revelations 2012 instead. It's more value for the money.
Revelations 2012 is so bad that it's good, much like big rigs. WarZ is just pathetic, depressing and something that would stimulate the ultimate downfall of society-- or lack thereof if you're a bitter, bitter person.
I was gonna buy WarZ but I'm gonna go get Revelations 2012 instead. It's more value for the money.
Revelations Dev's have fixed quite a bit. I actually like the game from an MSTK3K point of view. It was a game made by people who simply had no idea what they were doing, no one really thinks it was malicious.
I remember Game Informer wrote an article praising this game. The still used the UDK screenshots and treated them as new.
I remember Game Informer wrote an article praising this game. The still used the UDK screenshots and treated them as new.
Those "screenshots" are on the steam store page as well. Of the 18 screenshots only 2 could be from the actual game. It's laughable.
regarding the "revive now", people arent realising that once they implement the skill system you're gonna have a preferred main character because of the skills you've got for that character. This is like if WoW didnt let you play your main for 4 hours, forcing you to play a low level character thats not as good as you're main, and giving you an option to pay money to unlock your main early. since people who pay are going to have an advantage over other people since they revived their mains, that have better skills, this is pay2win.
The producer was the same guy who made Big Rigs Over the Road Racing. This doesn't surprise me in the least.
