Facepunch is my family; been here for almost 7 years now and I wish to never leave I hope newpunch manages to retain what this forum is today
I used to be more active on facepunch than I am now, but it's still nice to lurk.
The entire reason i started posting was gold was going to (temporarily but didn't know it) disappear and i wanted I was as a retarded teenager.

Ive been using this site for a decade now, thats fucking nuts honestly. So many friends have passed through on their own paths, so many projects from the past like the Collab albums or the Facepunch Reviews Database, Photoshop contests. I sincerely do love every facet of this site, especially all of you guys. Facepunch turned me from a scared awkward kid to the reasonably confident, hyper curious person i am today. For better or for worse, a lot of us grew up together, and ill always respect you guys for that. Garry too, even if he did ban me for a month for talking mad shit about the megathreads rule [editline]7th January 2018[/editline]
I like people like you who have had the same avatar for basically the entire time. It's basically how I identify people... If someone changes theirs it takes me a long time to notice they're not somebody else haha Come to think of it, switching back to what I used for the longest time.
Im gonna make a modern edit of my old 'Pants on head RETARDED' avatar, youre giving me nostalgia
kilerabv became everyone's dad on fp
Does this mean I have to pay child support for the underage members?
Does this mean I have to pay child support for the underage members?
Not if we abort them all through idiot culls.
ive been lurking for like the past 10 years
Every time I start to get close to 20,000 posts the forums undergo a massive change. I was at 19,000 when the first forum purge happened, then over 17,000 when the custom subforums got nuked. Now I'm just over 16,000 again and we're moving. I'll never hit 20,000 posts. Also I do not remember the highlights feature. At all.
I remember finding this forum back in 08 with those gmod photo challenge things from gmod.org and was kinda put off by how many bans were handed out at first, so I didn't bother posting and stuck to lurking for ages. Now I honestly believe FP has the best moderation out of any forum and is something I hope never changes. On that note, I'm honestly pissed my perfect record was spoiled by two bans I could have easily avoided.
only case when anyone can mock '05ers
Sometimes I still get surprised when I see 2005 on someone's join date. They're a rare sighting, almost like bigfoot. [editline]7th January 2018[/editline]
When was the last time that happened? Maybe I just missed it but I don't actually recall it happening at all since like 2012.
People stopped caring because the mods heavily tackled join date elitism around 2011. That, along with forum shuffles, it just didn't matter anymore.
I miss the '010er meme
Most of Facepunch's history is a complete blur for me save for one or two events, and that was even before I started drinking. At some point after the brown forums there was a seizure theme for the whole forums for a short period of time. which I think got recycled into OIFY's standard theme.
Facepunch has been my connection to internet culture for the longest time now, over pretty much any other website. Although I rarely post I have been lurking forever now, and I intend to keep lurking until it's all gone and I don't know what I'll do then.

Love this site. The social / dating sub forum has had a big influence on me and I learned some golden dating advice on there, so I was really bummed when that got removed and merged into two mega threads. There was a ton of really good discussion and advice there which is just gone forever now, I’d really hate to have to try and search out advice if I was just getting started at this point, I probably would have found /r/redpill and thought that was the best way to go about it or some shit. MaverickIB’s golden rule ”if you like her, just ask her out” is forever ingrained in my brain. Oh and not to mention the LMAO pics thread is probably one of the best places on the web to find actually funny memes (and OC).
Joined Facepunch solely for the Airsoft subforum and when it got dissolved, I found myself still sticking around. Guess that's the marker of a good online community.
Bring back the hobby forums!
I wonder if that thread I made earlier this week made gary post this blog. Either way, I've been here for too long..
Facepunch saved me from being a cringe sonic kid.
bring back smartness stick it in her pooper
Facepunch has be my homesite for coming on 7 years now and the community has always felt like family. Along with the bastion of good posting habits and general forum quality (which honestly FP helped me grow out of my shell in some cases, I became more articulate with my thought process). Nothing will ever really capture the contentment and social completeness I feel as I do here. My only hope is for Newpunch is the charm of familiar users, the high degree of quality and the stability for me to look back upon all the good memories of this forum when I'm old and gray and say: "It was one hell of a ride."
i remember the ban: stick it in her wardrobe
Sometimes I still get surprised when I see 2005 on someone's join date. They're a rare sighting, almost like bigfoot.
I think that applies more to 04 join dates, you can count the active members on one hand mostly.
