Modest Mouse - Good News For People Who Love Bad News
Unique sounding album, full of pretty and flowing songs, and I love his voice. The first 3 songs are the best IMO(not counting the intro)
9/10

Never really listened to NERD before, I was expecting it to be RnB that I don't like but I was presently surprised.
Love Pharells high pitch. A smooth and tranquil album.

Psychic TV - Dreams Less Sweet - 1983

I only listened to this because it was part of the "holophonic recorded albums" section somewhere. Which basically means it gives you a more 3 dimensional experience with music. Singing sometimes seems to pass through your head or go round you in a circle. Very surreal.
Surprised more artists don't do stuff like this, but since it's only meant for headphones I guess it didn't catch on.
The only album I can think of that also does this (albeit a bit better) is Roger Waters' Pros and Cons album.
This one is more experimental with it and a lot less conceptual. It's not much of a band though, I've read that it's just a project. But this album tells me they had something going. It's sad they fell into the experimental vibe instead of carrying on this style.
Interesting work, worth a listen just for the experience of holophonic music.

Quite enjoyable modern soul. Very good voice but there isn't a true "boost" of soulful vocals that give me a moving feeling. But Seal is Seal and he is a good vocalist.

The Prodigy - The Fat of The Land - 1997

Quality album, probably not their best. I preferred their earliest of the early work that they did, but this is pretty much another defining album of their career.
The last one was good, but holds no omen up to the coolness of this.

Crystal Castles- Crystal Castles (2008)
Roughly 7/10, I'd say. Good electronic/noise album. I really love the song Alice Practise. Got a great energy to it.
Tell Me What To Swallow is a really nice chillout/dreampop style song, and I'd like to see Crystal Castles do more like this. From both their albums it's the only one like it.

When I heard the album I thought I enjoyed it until I realised it was really bad :3:
Lyrically... it fails to adhere to decent standards.

girlfriend gave me her second copy the other day, quite enjoyed it. i saw them live at leeds fest last year but didn't know them at the time. after finally getting round to listening to them properly i enjoy the contrast of really precise drum beats, going into 16ths almost immediately, which seems to be their drummer's style. consistently good too, my favourite being the last track "toothpaste kisses"

Their second album is as good as, if not better than the first. It's more mature and has some great singalong moments

Four and a Half thumbs up
I admit, before this just the very concept of Celtic Punk sounded stupid as hell and I got so sick of hearing that one song from the Departed played 99 times every second I was gonna burn my legs off but hey these Pogues guys are great. The odd genre doesn't sound gimmicky at all and the singer manages to sound very sincere sometimes. They even have a mandolin player! You can barely hear it most of the time, but man that's cool.

Well there's nothing stopping you from sharing your opinion too, even if the gist of it is the same.

She Wants Revenge - She Wants Revenge (2006)
Gets repetitive and monotonous, especially the vocals.
But I think I can like a few of the songs
2.5/5

The Rolling Stones - The Rolling Stones - 1964
B
Promising debut, what lacks is original songs. Something the early Beatles albums had, so for this to be a straight up cover album... it notches it down slightly. Not so much "originality" because it does set a good tone for the band. Some nice mono sounds too.
Overall, it isn't quite a classic. To some they can disagree, but I won't listen to it much.
Highlight: Can I Get a Witness (probably because it's a Marvin Gaye song) :3:

The lack of repition in the album makes it incredibly easy to listen to from start to end, and you won't be disappointed. There are too little flaws to point out. Maybe it could have gone for a little longer, but that could have ruined the charm of it

the first one seems less "forced". wall of arms seems like it's just trying to copy the first one. i would like to say that it copies the style of the first, but i can't hear that when i listen to it

Pixies - Come on Pilgrim
A
One of my favourite albums ever. I can listen to this so many times and not get bored of it, even though it does have the most simple bass and drum known to man (that's a joke, laugh)
Only bits and pieces, 9 days until release.

Fun Catchy pop-punk songs with depressing lyrics. Sounds too similar to Bob Mould's stuff Husker Du. Nothing too special but hey it's fun and catchy.

Like that last one, it's fun and catchy but unlike the last one these guys sound very original. Cool experimental funky psychedelic electro pop.

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Most unique and awesome hip-hop album I've heard so far. It's bubbling with character, which is surprising for a rap album. The album art, as fucked as it is, is a good representation of this album's mood :v:. He also released a 35 minute film using his songs from the album, it's pretty much awesome.
10/10
I've been meaning to listen to that album. i'll do it some time :v:
It's awesome. Not his best but sublime.
