Rate Schizophrenia by Sepultura

this album has everything, fast-paced songs of destruction, down-tempo intense songs, and it ends in an epic 11 minute storm.

8/10 best stoner doom ever.

I don't care much for the rating. It's the comments that matter.
Nothing wrong with bad reviews about an album others like.

Dälek - From Filthy Tongue of Gods and Griots - 2002
A
Another... experimental as fuck hip hop record. Something I really wasn't expecting, there are elements of psychedelia, elements of noise, elements of art rock, punk... it goes on and on. This isn't as extreme in terms of Death Grips, which I personally think is one of the greatest experiences this year, this is more about atmosphere. And I personally think this is the greatest "atmospheric" fucked up hip hop experiences I have.
And I thought Madvillain was abstract hip hop. Hoho. :downs:

Candy Claws - In the Dream of the Sea Life - 2009

Dream pop, at it's very nicest. You won't hear anything as light-hearted as this in terms of being faithful to being dreamy throughout. It's as if they're making love to the microphone here and that is optimistic as fuck. I can't help but like it, but I wouldn't go round advertising this shit everywhere...

They kind of lose that hint of charm from the first effort. Catamaran on the first album is kind of the "epitomy" of what they are as a group. And with this, it doesn't further that.
Still enjoyable though, and I think it's kind of moving forward in a way. I just don't like it as much nor did I feel in another place, like I did.
Oh shit, I've done this again.

Fucking love this album, definitely my favourite album that Machine Head have done.
9/10.

Metallica - St. Anger
C-
Given everything terrible that we've all heard about this, there were some pleasant surprises; a few songs, like the title track, are good, and I do like the southern rock style they were going for, but some songs are truly god awful, especially Frantic and My World, the vocals are mostly poor-to-terrible, and it all feels rather disjointed. Worth a listen before you jump on the bandwagon, but not something I would recommend.
But Frantic was my favorite from the album :saddowns:

Nice review. I like the album but I'd rate it as low as that too.

Danger Doom - The Mouse and the Mask (2005)
3.5/5
I pretty much never listen to Hip Hop but this one caught my attention.
I ended up liking it a little, I just don't like how MF Doom seems to have no emotion when he says anything and since don't watch Adult Swim, I didn't understand most of the references.
Right now I am listening to Illmatic by Nas which to my surprise, I'm liking more.

Can't go wrong with Illmatic.
Nor should you go wrong with Madvillainy
River - River (labeled as tour cassette on the label's site)
4.8/5
Why the hell is it 4.8? There is a field recording song that has two problems. One it's really low in the mix and two it's boring. I didn't listen to it nor did I even rip it, but it's still on the tape so I can't really not give it a 5/5. So anyway on to the rest of the tape. Most of the music on here is beautiful folk music. The music really sounds like it's from another time.
I actually have listened to Silent way, but the drums... not pleasant. Repetitive a bad way. Guess I could give it another swing... i guess

It is Lady Gaga and it is often considered main stream/commercial, but I don't care what they say. The Fame is a wonderful album to listen to and it doesn't get on my nerves as much as The Fame Monster and Born this Way.
Speaking of pop

Pretty good stuff (If you like that poppy stuff), with some surprisingly good backing instruments, and I don't think there is any auto-tune or the likes on her voice either (not that autotune is bad, it's just refreshing to hear a pop singers real voice in an album). Overall pretty and catchy.

Awesome stuff here, as usual, but it always saddens me to listen to the last album from any group. I find it hard to describe this album though.

Dark Magus is my personal favourite Miles experience.
But if you prefer his more smooth jazz vibe then fair enough.
What's your favourite?

I love that album.
Wouldn't rate it highly though, it's not the most creative work of theirs. But by enjoyment... It is damn good.
I always assume Post- genres take the style of a genre and then twist it in non traditional ways. Like post impressionist painting looks like impressionism but at it's core theyre doing very different things.
so it kinda fits. maybe. it sounds awful though.
Post- genres usually tend to have a lower BPM and stray from the norms of the genre. Dubstep usually has 140BPM while James Blakes work is closer to 130 or less.

Yeah, but James Blake is minimal and experimental. Doesn't make him "Post"

I'm not really that critical when I review, mostly by how much I enjoyed listening to them.
Maybe sometime I'll review something more critically.

BPM doesn't make Post genres, at all.
I personally have no idea what "post" has become. It could mean that it's trying to revive something, or try and be a bit slower than the original genre. I'm confused.
