Thanks for telling me something I absolutely did not know, you should get an award for smartest person ever!
But you said it's posty. Which doesn't make sense. :smug:
But you said it's posty. Which doesn't make sense. :smug:
I said something which you take way too seriously, which results in a pointless argument between us.
I said something which you take way too seriously, which results in a pointless argument between us.
Why call it "post" anything, since the meaning would suggest that the music is "after the era the genre". Or somewhat. Kind of like "Neo-Soul". The genre evolves into a new direction. But I feel you don't mean it in that sense. :smug:
I last listened to "The Loneliest Punk" By Fatlip it was good i would say 7.5/10
Guys please stay on topic, thanks!
Fine, fine. I've last listened to my own ''album''. Shitty generic ''album art'' that took me 5 seconds. I rate it a 5/10 since it is lacking.
Dälek - Negro Necro Nekros - 1998 A- Not quite as outlandish as the effort after this one, but still damn good experimental hip-hop. There is a nice addition of "indian" elements in terms of use of sitar and tabla in some tracks. I don't reckon they played those instruments, but it sure works well here. It's less than 40 minutes too, which does seem easier to take in. I could listen to this a lot more because I personally think it's their most enjoyable/accessible record. Whether it's their most creative, I can't say at this point.

10/10 This is just everything I love in an album, really - videogames and music. The fact that it's not JUST your average megaman 2 exact one for one covers; instead they actually weave stories for the individual robot masters, and even the blue bomber himself.
The Protomen are much better.
not even listened to that album and I know this to be true :smug:
That must mean Sunn O))) are like the postiest post band of all post bands combined [editline]18th May 2011[/editline] post
nahh bra maybe william basinski. [editline]18th May 2011[/editline]
Dark Magus is my personal favourite Miles experience. But if you prefer his more smooth jazz vibe then fair enough. What's your favourite? [editline]18th May 2011[/editline]
It's not smoothness I go for (I love Eric Dolphy, Art Esnemble of Chicago and stuff like that), I just felt put off by it. I kept waiting for him to play a different rhythm... of course I was probably listening to it with the wrong expectations. From what I've heard, Kind of Blue is still my favourite. Each note is utterly perfect, and I find more to like about it with each listen. I haven't gone through any of the fusion albums like Magus or Bitches Brew yet though, never been really that into him until lately.
ok more rating now Joni Mitchell - Blue (1971) folk hard to write for a favourite album like this, but basically it's personal and honest songwriting with melodies and chords carefully built in an impressionist manner to emphasize the complex emotions and yea it's perfect. 10/10 Big Star - #1 Record (1972) power pop Really fun, warm pop, nice way to wind down a nice day mostly spent wasting time at school and hanging out in the sun with a big group of friends, being shit at soccer, reading beneath a blossoming tree and talking in the grass. 7/10 The Jesus Lizard - Goat (1991) post hardcore first of all, where is the noise rock I hear people talk about? I am very confused, and slightly disappointed. But whatever, it's awesome at what it does do. Pounding rhythms and manic vocals. Channels Fugazi at times, but it's really completely different, a little beast of a record. Rampant and bad ass all the way through. 7/10 Melt Banana - Cell Scape (2003) noise rock Now here's some fucking noise rock! This is a total blast. Tons of feedback and fast tempos, with Rika Hamamoto just... going insane. Awesome awesome awesome. 8.5/10

Architects - Hollow Crown I'd give it an 8/10.

Whenever I write I always look up to her as an inspiration.
Dir en Grey - Vulgar (2003) Their style makes little to no sense, but I love it all the same. Probably my favorite of their albums. 9/10

Especially fusion, that takes ages to understand. But once you're there, there's nothing like it.
pinkerton is the only weezer album worth it imo
Yeah, but James Blake is minimal and experimental. Doesn't make him "Post"
Yes i'm saying that this does put Blake in the Post-Dubstep genre. [editline]19th May 2011[/editline]
pinkerton is the only weezer album worth it imo
I for one liked the Blue album. And radditude wasn't terrible. The red album was.
