Steal This Album! ofcourse.
Oops I meant "Thread Title Is". :pcgaming:

[release] Jethro Tull Thick as a Brick 1972
9/10
Well, I can't really have a song based review here, so this one will be much shorter. Anyways, this is a brilliant album and song. Even if they made it as a parody, its still one of the best prog rock albums of all time. The flute playing is amazing and I really like the vocals. Towards the end, there is a small part in which they have a huge orchestra. I wish they used that more. My very favorite parts however are the beginning and the end.[/release]

Kasabian - Kasabian - 2004 B- A bit of britpopped indie rock. One of my sister's favourites so I always hear it... but I do think it's a good album. It has this nice, "together" sort of feeling. Songs like Club Foot and U Boat really come through as those songs where you could just enjoy with other Londoners. My favourite here is L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever), you'll know why when you hear it. All in all, I can enjoy it, I can listen to it over and over. But critically as it stands, it isn't a grasping or thought provoking album, neither does it move into something I didn't expect. [editline]27th May 2011[/editline] Bill Withers - Still Bill - 1972 A+ Quite an understated soul record. I think each and every track here is so "soulfully" inspired that it blows my brains. It has bits of funk, bits of smoothness and it is as accessible as anything... One of my personal favourites that I still don't have on LP, but it is sublime. Classics from start to finish, "Let Me in Your Life" being the one I can connect with most.
The Sound of Animals Fighting - Tiger and the Duke B- It is interesting how this album was recorded really. Each members who recorded their part couldn't hear nothing else than their own instrument. It is very progressive and quite good. It has way too much useless interludes though.
I like to listen through an album at least 3 times before I say something about it, I got around to listening to the Asylum Choir for the 4th time so now it's time for a COMBO REVIEW The Asylum Choir album was released in 1968 by Leon Russell and Marc Benno; it fell into obscurity quite quickly due to many reasons. This record company gave Leon and Marc pretty much full reign over virtually every aspect of the album and then the company would market it. As a result, Marc and Leon made an album that was highly unorthodox for the time and a little bit controversial. Needless to say, the record company was not pleased. After the first print of the Asylum Choir they changed the original album art (a toilet paper roll with the name of the album on it) to the one I've posted. They also refused to put any decent amount of money into marketing it. Even to this day, one cannot purchase a digital version of this album (I think). After the first album, Leon and Marc recorded Asylum Choir II for a different record company, it sold slightly better and they cooperated a bit more. Marc Benno became pretty unknown after, despite releasing some pretty rad albums after (apparently, I still need to check them out). Leon rose to a fair amount of popularity and a big cult following, but he still would never "play the game" for record companies. Now that the history is out of the way, let's casually review the actual album. The album is quite a psychedelic experience, there's nothing weird outright about it but the imagery used in every song in contrast to the odd sounds creates a vivd environment. Leon and Marc have great synergy, probably the best example of this is in the song "Thieves in the Choir" which I will post below. Nothing about the album follows the general mold of albums or reoccurring themes, it's just a collection of quite funky songs with many different instruments. I don't want to sound like a pothead or anything, but I used to smoke a lot but quit about a year ago. I decided to toke and listen to this album last night and I must say, it was quite an experience. Anyways, I don't really like giving albums scores or anything like that but I do recommend this album. Not my favorite album, but it's not bad by any stretch; it is very enjoyable. I'll post a couple of other Leon Russell album reviews later and maybe some Marc Benno ones once I listen to a couple of his albums. A side note, old Marc Benno albums are super rare and expensive, if you find any at old record stores- buy them. Thieves in the Choir
Broken Bells - Broken Bells (2010) 4/5 Good stuff, I would really like them to make another album
Johnnytwentythree - JXXIII - 2007 4/5 Absolutely fantastic post-rock. The highlight of the album is definitely Fall Of Swords for me. The videos actually split it up quite nicely. Since the last couple of minutes, in the second video, are absolutely beautiful. The first ten minutes in the first video are great as well, yesss <: Being such an uneducated person as I am, I can't really say much about the album, except that it's really really good. If you like post-rock you should definitely give it a listen, if only just those videos I posted. My friend compares them to Godspeed You! Black Emperor, but I don't listen to those guys enough to know, really.

Such a bad album cover such a good album

I remember first time I saw it I thought it was a parody. Now it's just hilarious. No actually it's not funny at all.
Best album cover. It blows my mind. Can't stop looking at it, and when I know the time is right, I'll look away from it and actually listen to the album. :smugdog:

The Lonely Island - Turtleneck & Chain - 2011 If you didn't know these guys, you should listen to them. The songs are fucking hilarious. You have to have at least heard of track 3 by now though. :v: 8/10 Go listen to it now for laffs.
Bon Iver Bon Iver, Bon Iver 2011 I strongly suggest getting this album, if you haven't heard their other work it's all pretty great. Part of the Indie/Folk scene, great acoustic sound with a surprisingly amazing last song. 10/10 A+
I'm really against abusing the 10/10 rating, because that means that no album can be better than it, but this album is pure instrumental masturbation. You have to listen to it to understand where I'm[sp]cumming[/sp]from

Was it already released without anyone telling me :smith: Forever Ago is a tough work to follow, so I'll have to put some thought into it.
I don't care for it as much, it has more of an electronic and studio sound versus Forever Ago.
Forever Ago was amazingly atmospheric. Is awesome.
I think it leaked, I still really want to preorder it but the vinyl edition has no cd or download with it
