The End of the Beginning is absolutely fantastic, but overall Perpetual Burn is a better album. He wrote and recorded most of Perspective as he was losing his motor functions to Lou Gehrig's Disease I believe
Yeah I could pin point some really great works on the album. But I couldn't get the "personality" that I was expecting..
Even though I still have 4 songs to go I think that I can rate it.

It's definitely not as strong as Perpetual Burn, at least to me. Altitudes on Perpetual Burn gives me chills to this day
Homestuck Volume 7: At The Price of Oblivion
Each Homestuck album varies from each other mostly because it isn't a single band or person, but rather a collection of amazing music put together by some masterminds that are quite possibly not of this world. But that aside, this is by far the best collection to date, including masterpieces such as Lifdoff and At The Price of Oblivion.

Holy fuck... I feel like a cunt for rating it so bad now.
Why isn't it more talked about that he couldn't play well and could only "compose". That sucks.

Way ahead of you, saw it and was moved. I'll now appreciate his music more, but the damage is done. :smith:

Pride I guess. His playing on that album is still better than a lot of guys at the time, but it's a shadow of his playing when you compare it to Perpetual Burn or even Cacophony (recorded with Marty Friedman when he was 16 :gonk:)
He still writes albums now though, I need to hear them. He gets guest musicians to play music he's composed. Inspiring really :unsmith:

Well I am not the biggest Rap fan and I have only really heard 99 problems before so I decided to give this a listen. I am surprised that I liked it the beats just seem to cut like his voice, the pauses and timing make this album I think
My favourite track
"Izzo (H.O.V.A.)"
Overall I will give it 80 problems out of 99

My favourite tracks "Muscle Cars"

Takes a few songs to get "into" it, but once you do it's amazing.
5 Rody Walkers out of 5

Organized Konfusion - Stress: The Extinction Agenda (1994)
One of my favourite hip hop albums. Each song is tightly produced and well written, and the effect overall is extremely engaging and unforgettable. First of all, the two MCs, Pharoahe Monch and Prince Po, are lyrical monsters. They both have very hard hitting and idiosyncratic styles (check Po's sing-rapping on Black Sunday or Monch's beastly convoluted flow on Bring it On) which I can't praise enough. No point in diving to deep because you can just hear it, but man... they're a couple of great rappers. And of course the lyrics are both compelling and just cool. Yes this is definitely a "conscious" hip hop album, with some lyrics detailing themes like coping with wordly stress, but they don't leave out awesome bragging lyrics ("suck my dick from the back with a crazy straw" or "i eat mcs like cereal thats soggy"), but always with the skill and content to back it up. Throughout the more menacing songs like Bring it On and Stress, and the "conscious" such as Stray Bullet, there's a number of positive tracks, and an overall there's a strong feeling of empowerment to this album, that I'm sure anyone can connect with.

Mahmoud Awad - Sheik To The Future
It's too bad we lack the technology to listen to this album, because it is the first album to be send back in time. The original recording has been made in 2058, with 4D music technology. If you look past the lack in technology and demension in this album though, you will have a great listening experience.

Good straight up black metal. Very enjoyable, would recommend it to anyone interested. Simple stuff but really good.

Now as many people know, I tend to talk about Elton John like I have a homosexual mancrush on his music (could take or leave the actual person though, he's kinda a prick). But how did that happen? I'll tell you: this album. What is the first thing you think of when someone says Elton John?
this:
This album is nothing like pop-fab-glamor Elton, for example
This album has a weird Rock/Pop/Country to it, it was quite original for its time and is still regarded in the piano community as having some of the best piano backups. Specifically, this song:
Being only his 3rd album, it is rather odd that some of his best piano pieces ever are on it, but whatever. I guess because he came from a classical music background. Anyways, yeah, this is Elton in a light that never really gets shown. This album was made when Elton was only kind-of known and not playing his glamfab role.
My only complaint about it, and that's the same complaint I have about all Elton John albums, is that it has no continuation flow. I know it sounds silly, but when you listen to George Harrison, Leon Russell, even Dreamtheater, almost all songs lead up to another song for a reason. Elton just kinda throws all his tracks at the wall and just lets them land wherever.
I highly recommend this album, even if you think you don't like Elton's tunes. Chances are that you have only listened to post-fab Elton and not his truly great stuff.

I know it's a collection of Stones music and not a true album, but it has the best live version of Midnight Rambler ever on it. Seriously.

The chill guitar vibes mixed with almost orchestral sounds and voicework give this earthy, mother-nature sounding album a really big thumbs up from me.

Apparently they did an Electronica album too :psyduck:
That's everything from the past 10 years
After their 3rd album they changed from Black Metal to whatever the fuck they play now.
I need more stuff of theirs but I'm confused as fuck.

Well, not really electronica. Perdition city is kind of electronic, as well as Blood Inside and A Quick Fix of Melancholy. THen there's a bunch of EPs and stuff which is mostly ambient and dark ambient. Kveldssanger is mostly acoustic and choirs.
I recommend you start with A Quick Fix of Melancholy, followed by Perdition City or Shadows of the sun
