I give it a A, but that's just my tiny silly opinion.
I am now informed
En-Gauge, give Neon Bible a go now. Definitely the best Arcade Fire album.
I will eventually, got to work my way though heaps of suggestions I got from /mu/
I'm going to listen to porcupine tree for the first time and review the album, what is considered their best one?
In Absentia
downloading now from Itunes... I should get a Last.fm account
I myself prefer Fear of a Blank Planet but yeah, In Absentia is probably the best place to start.
I should really listen to Porcupine Tree as well So much new music
I'm on Last.fm now, as Thream_Dreater‏
:downs:
I'm on Last.fm now, as Thream_Dreater‏
I added you :)
eh, Metropolis pt. 2 and Images and words are their best albums in my opinion.
Yeah, but would you say Octavarium is margainally inferior to those?
listening to OK computer right now, on the first track
Porcupine Tree - On the Sunday of life B+ This a hard one to rate. It's rather a mixed bag in terms of quality and, unsurprisingly given that it's actually a compilation of material from PT's first two casette-only albums, it feels lacking in overall coherence. When it's good it's very good, with songs like The Nostalgia factory, Radioactive Toy, Nine Cats, and It Will Rain for a Million Years, but unneccessary feeling filler material (albeit good filler material), the quite weak Jupiter Island which is oddly chosen as the first track to follow the intro track, the spoken word track Space Transmission (which could have been good if it was part of an album concept, but it isn't, it's just there for the sake of it), and that horrible high pitched voice on Linton Samuel Dawson all drag down the album's overall quality. However, all these flawed elements, while making it a weaker album than it could have been, do make for a very interesting listen.

One of the best I've heard in a long time. They sounded great live too. I highly recommend this album to anybody that appreciates good vocals.
4/5 smooth
Yeah, but would you say Octavarium is margainally inferior to those?
Met the whole band the other day after their wolverhampton gig :3
4/5 smooth
Didn't give it a 1.5/5 because it had one bad song? :v:
Met the whole band the other day after their wolverhampton gig :3
I don't think they've ever been to Australia.
Didn't give it a 1.5/5 because it had one bad song? :v:
Like I said before Akayz helped me change my ways.
Like I said before Akayz helped me change my ways.
Because it was so hard to use common sense in your ratings before :v:
17/17 Great collection of a lot of very catchy two minute blasts of poorly recorded but extremely well written ditties. GBV have forty-six thousand releases out and if ya don't know where to start definitely get this one.

I listened to this because RYM's charts have it down as the worst metal album of all time, and it definitely delivered on that promise; it sounds like it was recorded using a £5 USB microphone in the middle of a swarm of bees, the vocalist doesn't even attempt to sing, just belches unintelligable sounds into the microphone, there's no album coherence, the songwriting is appalling, and the drumming is easily the worst I've ever heard. I can only assume that the drummer has one arm and a serious nerve disorder. The only upside of this album is that its short -35 minutes - so my suffering could end quickly.
I think Akayz would like that [editline]26th July 2011[/editline] "The microphone creates elements of noise which gives the sound of the band an eclectic boost :smug:"
I listened to Death Orgasm (:v:) and I kind of liked the riffs
Liked it, don't really see what all the fuss is about though

Here are mindblowing albums imo that get 9 out of 10, or more [editline]26th July 2011[/editline]
Kids these days.
I figured you were 17-18 too
