OSI - Blood
C
Very weak album. A few songs are fairly enjoyable, with The Escape Artist and Radiologue being the upsides of the album, but the whole thing is bland and uncreative, with really boring vocals. Even Mikael Akerfeldt's appearence on Stockholm can't do anything to salvage this.

Frances the Mute is quite an amazing album. It has so many amazing layered sounds hitting you from everywhere and Omar Rodriguez's guitar work is godly. I love Prog-Rock and this is [hold on to your butts] in my opinion THE BEST EXAMPLE OF MODERN PROG-ROCK by far. Amazing powerful vocals from Cedric Bixler-Zavala (who volunteered to be the rating image for this album) and a really fucking unique story. My god do I love this album.
But the album's ending is not as good as what was intended to end which was the track Frances the Mute which is an awesome awesome ending. Check it out:

Pharaoh Overlord - #1
10/10
Wow
fucking amazing psychedelic stoner, but it's mostly just one riff repeating.
All the songs are just so awesome, closing my eyes made it even more awesome.
Trippy shit man.

Care to elaborate on this? Because if I listened to an album with almost no variation there is no way it would be a 10/10. I've never even heard the album I'm just curious as to what influenced your 10/10.

It's trippy
made my mind roll
It has some variation but it's just around the one riff.
Here have an example

That was actually pretty cool, doubt if I listened to the whole thing it would be a 10/10 for me but to each their own. From what I've seen in this thread, 10/10s seem to be pretty common. I would only ever give a 10/10 to something that I truly love, and people here seem to be like "I enjoy this, 10/10". Not that there's a problem with that, its just that everyone rates everything on their own personal scale so sometimes its hard to understand other people's ratings.

Proof that you can still sound sonically interesting with a recording budget of fourteen dollars. The production is very muddly but the band put layers of pianos and guitars to make it all sound very wonderful. The lyrics are simple, but they do go straight to the heart. I can see me still listening to this one in the future.
"The thunder clouds broke up,
And the rain dried up,
The lightning let up,
The clacking shutters just shut up."
Are your stars ~ironically resized~
playing DSTOM for the 3rd time atm, I realize my problem with listening to it for the first time was I expected a super psychedelic album with spacey-stuff and keyboards and crazy sounds
it just isn't

No they are not ironically resized.

I think that album is a little overrated. To me it's just an average great album.
Are you sure, I think you could just be being a ~ironic hip kind of dude~ guy.
I like it but Wish You Were here should command the respect DSOTM does
It's just a better album imo

I have no attitude of irony in any of my posts.
Also my favourite Pink Floyd album is Animals.
I listened to Animals for the first time a while ago and didn't really find it paticulary interesting
will listen to it again eventually

But your stars... they are so disproportional.

They seem fine to me. It's probably just your monitor or eyes or something.
No man they're fucked up
or maybe...
i'm not being ~so ironic~ enough?
how ~edgy~
you know it
guys i've just realized i've been listening to loveless by my bloody valentine for about 10 years in a row now.
it's still 5/5
cool story bro
When You Sleep is my favorite off of Loveless
aren't they shoegaze
must give a look, dug the fuck out of slowdive and they're shoegaze so I'll give them a look
I think I'll review "Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space" Tomorrow. Still need some time to process it.
Yeah, they're shoegaze. Also listen to Have A Nice Life cause I try to plug that to anyone who likes Shoegaze. But they're only part shoegaze.
Do iiiiiiit.
I'll listen to that other album first but I'll listen to both of those tonight after I've had my post rock fill

Okay but what exactly does that mean
Okay but what exactly does that mean
a lot of things would be different without loveless
for one thing, post-rock would just not exist, at least not in its current form.
slowdive is shoegaze in part because of MBV
