cool.5/yeah Very cool alt. rock bands from the 80s. If you like bands like Sonic Youth or Pixies definitely check these guys out.
Justice - † 6/10 The only 2 songs that catched my interest were DVNO and Dance Rest is just meh, also Tthhee Pparrttyy was just bad plain bad.
Justice - † 6/10 2 songs that only catched my interest, DVNO and Dance. Rest is just meh, also Tthhee Pparrttyy was just bad plain bad.
They are far over rated imo. Don't see why people rabidly circle jerk over them, heard far more original artists in the electronic spectrum.
Justice - † 6/10 The only 2 songs that catched my interest were DVNO and Dance Rest is just meh, also Tthhee Pparrttyy was just bad plain bad.
Check out their remix collection too :D
Justice - † 6/10 The only 2 songs that catched my interest were DVNO and Dance Rest is just meh, also Tthhee Pparrttyy was just bad plain bad.
I don't like DVNO and DANCE, they both just seem stupid to me (vocals ruin them imo), The Party is awful no debate there, Valentine is pretty bad too, but you really didn't even like Genesis, Waters of Nazareth, or One Minute To Midnight?
I really don't like to rate albuns but i think i can do it with this one: Chimaira - The Age of Hell 8,5/10
I'm listening through for the second time through now, I'd give it a 9/10. It's a pleasant change from the previous 2 albums. Infection didn't really stand out to me as being exemplary, though I always love their instrumentals. I've been listening to Chimaira for several years now, glad to see they still know how to make powerful music.
Pink Floyd's Meddle 10 out of 10 joints.
Red Hot Chillis new album, really good actually, don't let the first track fool you into thinking its all bad, a lot of good tracks.
Check out their remix collection too :D
Meh
I don't like DVNO and DANCE, they both just seem stupid to me (vocals ruin them imo), The Party is awful no debate there, Valentine is pretty bad too, but you really didn't even like Genesis, Waters of Nazareth, or One Minute To Midnight?
Meh
Justice's cross is good but it's not OMFGSOGOODLAWL it's just meh, seems cool. Is pretty cool actually. Then two months later you realize you're bored of it and the only song worth listening to continuously is One Minute To Midnight
But when the band isn't generic...
Here. Right a really cheesy song about 'true deepness' which really is about bullshit. Make sure the whole time you dont know what you're talking about, but are still trying to be as indepth as possible. Now sugarcoat it with fast solos and a whiny voice. Congratulations, you have a post IaW Dream Theater Song.

Your Move [editline]24th August 2011[/editline] all based on Mike portnoy's alcohol addiction, both his parents having cancer, Petrucci visiting Italy and getting the shit scared out of him, and writer's block. [editline]24th August 2011[/editline] also Nightmare to remember, a car crash Petrucci was in as a young boy.
Still doesn't disprove his argument. To be quite frank it sounds like you're trying to counter it by making Dream Theater look better. Which isn't working. Plus Another Day is from IaW.
all based on Mike portnoy's alcohol addiction, both his parents having cancer, Petrucci visiting Italy and getting the shit scared out of him, and writer's block.
It's not what it's about but how it's about. I don't really feel very compelled by the band's songs.
Although seriously, Echoes on the album Meddle is fucking amazing and it really has that signature Floyd style.
I never rate albums but I decided to give this one a good listen I'd give it like an 8/10 Interesting mix of styles and I think I only caught one mention of California. I don't think I like Josh as much as John but he's not bad
That really brings a tear to my eye
what's with the sarcasm? I'm just saying that not all their songs are bullshit.
not all their songs are bullshit.
Which of their songs are bullshit? I want to hear them.
what's with the sarcasm? I'm just saying that not all their songs are bullshit.
I never said their songs were bullshit They just try too hard to be epic imo Going to listen to root of all evil right now actually, that's a good song

Circle Takes The Square - As The Roots Undo (8.5/10) I've been hearing a lot about their new release so I decided to finally give their old "classic" a listen... And it was certainly an interesting experience. I should preface this by saying I really enjoyed this album, or at least most of this album, but there are some clear flaws. First of all, its no secret that the screamed vocals are pretty bad but they aren't the centerpoint of the album, so since there is enough contained in this album to distract from them it doesn't seem important to me. The spoken vocals are actually quite good, but the transition between the two is really awkward at times. The lyrics range everywhere from awesome to atrociously bad to annoyingly pretentious, but again the vocals are not the focus of the album so this doesn't detract from everything else too much. In terms of musical content this album is all over the place. Since most of the songs are somewhere between 5-10 minutes they all have good moments and they all have bad moments, since the songs change so frequently. I can't help but wonder if the changes are fueled by musical genius or purely ADD. The album has moments ranging from musical genius to nearly atrociously bad, but these moments sprinkled into a shell of simply "good" music that really isn't anything too special but it holds the album together nicely. tl;dr: I enjoyed this album a lot, mostly because it really challenged me as a listener. I'm still not sure how I feel about it really, there is a lot more good in it than there is bad, and there are some really phenomenal moments that make me want to like this album a lot more than I do. I'm gonna give it another few listens and see how my opinion changes, but for now this album has yet to reveal itself to me as a "classic". [editline]26th August 2011[/editline] I'm well aware that this rating/explanation made fuck all sense, but this album doesn't make sense either... So yea.
WHERE DID WE COME FROM WHY ARE WE HERE WHERE DO WE GO WHEN WE DIE
you're only given one shhhOT [editline]27th August 2011[/editline]
I never said their songs were bullshit They just try too hard to be epic imo Going to listen to root of all evil right now actually, that's a good song
I was replying to Puddlez with that post, not you.
Amon Tobin - Foley Run - 9/10 These samples he used are fantastic, every song is a twist and turn and has that eerie presence that feels like you're being sucked into a toilet or the whole world is turning upside down.
4/5 The Legend of Zelda OoT Post-Rock. You should be sold. It's free. You should have no excuse to not check it out now. They're demos and some of the songs are a bit rough in parts but the majority of them are really great and are very awesome Post-Rock songs. My favorites are Epona's Song, Skyward Sword and the later half of Kokariko Village. Download and listen here: http://coryjohnson.bandcamp.com/album/legend-of-zelda-demos
