I got this album today and listened to all of it. could you recommend me some more music like this?
Defeater, Make Do And Mend, Glassjaw, Touché Amoré :)
Not sure I understand when you put Final Cut up with Animals and Wish You Were Here. But that's your opinion, if you love Roger Waters that much, then I can't blame you. :>
Its because when I really think about it, Wish You Were Here and Animals are just good, like The Final Cut.
4/5 Sonic Youth's first album! Anyway this band has some of the best guitars I've heard. They're the only band I've heard of who jams nails and drumsticks in their fret board to make certain sounds. Anyway this isn't their best album but if you like Sonic Youth, definitely check this out. If you like the sound of guitar feedback then this band would be right up your alley because they love feedback.
Well I wouldn't call it "frightening", it's very soothing.
I didn't call it frightening :V I said haunting. In a good way. Enjoyable way.
I got this album today and listened to all of it. could you recommend me some more music like this?
mewithoutYou if you like La Dispute's lighter stuff (and don't mind Christian lyrics, they're quite good actually, just unfortunately very obviously Christian), Pianos Become the Teeth, City of Caterpillar, Circle Takes the Square, A Lot Like Birds, BATS, Fear Before (Particularly their album The Always Open Mouth), At The Drive-In, and Thursday. [editline]13th October 2011[/editline] Its definitely worth going through La Dispute's discography too though, a lot of great songs on the Here Hear EPs and a few great splits. Their debut is mind-blowing if you haven't heard that. Vancouver and the Untitled 7" are also pretty cool.
Still better than on the run...
Eh, I'm just a massive Pink Floyd fan so I love every one of their songs.
A solid 10 out of 10. After a 5 year hiatus, Eminem came back better than ever. It's got a really dark feel to it, and Eminem makes his alter ego Slim Shady even more insane. Pretty much every song on this album is great.
post-rockcore I think I have a translated lyric sheet for one of the tracks somewhere on my computer. I'll see if I can get it. [editline]13th October 2011[/editline] For They Try To Cheer Me Up By Saying I Did Once Live A Functioning Life [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/xmtBh.jpg[/img_thumb]
Thanks bro, much appreciated
Example - Playing in the Shadows 9/10 Example back on form again, every song is great to be honest. None of today's typical 3-4 songs of 15 being good, the rest filler.
If you guys like Suffocate for Fucks Sake, you should listen to Sed Non Satiata
Face candy - Waste age teen land Idon'tevenknow/10 seriously not what I expected, considering the lead vocallist is a renowned underground hip-hop artist. but it's still good for what it is, even if that is freeform jazz accompanied by nonsensical and surrealist lyrics which delve into the self-deprecating mind of Michael Larsen

[editline]14th October 2011[/editline]
I didn't call it frightening :V I said haunting. In a good way. Enjoyable way.
True, it is kind of frightening though. [editline]14th October 2011[/editline]
Still better than on the run...
Subjective. He can enjoy it more, even though you don't.
Apparently liking Eminem is hilarious.
no, just rating the beginning of his end 10/10.
no, just rating the beginning of his end 10/10.
Well we all got opinions.
no, just rating the beginning of his end 10/10.
That's the hype, but liking it isn't illegal. I personally think "Recovery" was the end of his madness which I found interesting. It told me he'll never make anything as good as Lose Yourself.

It is toned down a bit, which I'm not crazy about, but the songs I've heard on it are still pretty good. I would definitely rate it less than Relapse though.

(i've only heard it once) However, I listened to Marshall Mathers LP a LOT prior to my interest in music. It's a true future classic.

Written when he suffered depression after splitting with his long-term partner, it is not an exaggeration to say that Sea Change is the sound of heartbreak and sadness. Every track on this album communicates with the listener on an audible level and an emotional level, each sombre song showing the depth of his pain that is best expressed in the lines ''There's one road back to civilization, But there's no road back to you....'' (Paper Tiger). This is an album that everybody should listen to at least once in their life, this is not just an album, this a man baring his soul and showing the world how it feels. Some may be able to relate to it and others may not. This album is definitely Beck's magnum opus and a resounding: 10/10 Key Track: Lost Cause

Another Cynthia - The Mannequin EP 5/5 Love every track just like their self-titled. But their self-titled is much better
7/10 It was pretty catchy I guess, but it's not really a gem.
7/10 It was pretty good, some songs I didn't really like though. Still worth listening to!

And I really didn't, its a solid album and I enjoyed it a lot but the first word that came to mind while listening to it was "overrated". Its a fantastic album that definitely has some amazing songs but when listening to it as a whole it just feels so disjointed and unorganized at times that I can hardly say its a classic or a masterpiece or whatever it is people call this album. Also, what the fuck is up with Oh Comely? I don't know what it is people love about that song but it sounds like complete shit to me. However, Holland 1945, The Two-Headed Boy, and the title track are enough for me to safely say everyone should listen to this album. [editline]19th October 2011[/editline] Oh and of course, Jesus Chriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiist [editline]19th October 2011[/editline] I just realized I give a lot of .5's in this thread, usually just to stress that I like this more/less than an 8 or whatever, but its kinda funny it seems like I tack a .5 on to everything. Maybe I should change up my system a little.
[img_thumb]http://cdn.imfmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/The-Lonely-Island-Turtleneck-And-Chain.jpeg[/img_thumb] The Lonely Island - Turtleneck & Chain 57/100 D Genre: Hiphop, rap, pop, comedy Length - 19 tracks, 39 minutes If you haven't heard of The Lonely Island yet, go to youtube and search "I'm On A Boat". Of course, I'm going to assume you've heard of them. Turtleneck And Chain is their second full length album. It features several of the songs from their recent music videos, such as We're Back, I Just Had Sex, The Creep, and a few others. Although this album has 19 tracks, don't be confused. It's only a fair 39 minutes. The album has few great songs. Songs like We're Back, Throw It On The Ground, No Homo, and Jack Sparrow are hilarious songs which are great and memorable. Although this album is full of other tracks which aren't nearly as funny. The title track, Turtleneck & Chain, is very forgettable and overall, at the most, is silly. Songs that are only "silly" and not "hilarious" fill the majority of the album. Even the song, The Creep, was at the most, silly without the music video. Nicki Mijas part in the song was awfully boring and unfunny without the music video. In general, it's an OK album. TLI excels in viral music videos and not so much in full length albums. I recommend buying a few of the songs individually on iTunes instead of buying the full length album. Favorite Songs: We're Back!, Throw It On The Ground, No Homo Worst Songs: Turtleneck & Chain, The Creep, Shy Ronnie 2: Ronnie & Clyde
In general, it's an OK album. TLI excels in viral music videos and not so much in full length albums.
yea pretty much, I love these guys but listening to a whole album seems pretty unappealing anyways Do Make Say Think - Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn Really beautiful and warm sounding post rock. I've sort of fallen out with modern examples of the genre due to a lot of it being boring background music but this is one of those treats where a post rock band does more than detached crescendos. There's a great sense of very fluid progressions in here and a very wintery feeling that was just perfect for such a cloudy day. warmly recommended. 4/5
might look into that
have I posted this here ep of two long songs. side A is one of the greatest things I have heard http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Gw0oF5eFeo side B is classy drone
