imo pretty much every song on cross starts off amazing and then becomes really disappointing and repetitive
I just can't believe the fuzz behind Justice
it's okay

Tyler, The Creator - Bastard (2009)
1.8/5
A few tracks were alright but other then those few I really didn't like anything else, mainly the beats.
I thought Goblin was a little better but not by much.
Justice did a great job on building on the electronic house genre that Daft Punk started.
Wow, so wrong.
House music was around for years before Daft Punk even started out.
In fact, I can go as far to say that Daft Punk came around when House music was starting to become less and less popular.
Fair enough, their sales were good because of the likes of "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" and "One More Time", but even those aren't what I'd call full on house music.

You probably won't even like those since they're not disco oriented like Daft Punk and Justice.
I thought there would be a big comeback of the true style of house, but it's plain to see that it's the same old.

I worded it a bit wrong. I more of meant the style.

Nu-disco is apparently what it's called.

Trust me, it really does get better each listen. I thought neither album was that good on first listen but after a few listens I was like whoa shit yes

I'm not sure what to say about this album. It's got it's high points, but its fairly disappointing so far.
Anyone else had a listen yet?

I have. It's got a few good tracks, but overall it's meh.

I like most of it, but some parts sound like they wrote the riffs in like 5 seconds and just threw them in. Like they didn't give it much thought. I still like it but I would've preferred if they stayed on the direction they were going with Crack the Skye, though it's fine with me if they want to experiment on different sounds.
Cool, I'll give it a listen.
I'll reiterate what I said because I don't think I made it clear because I'm bad at reviews
Its not Coldplay standard fare, its too bouncy and bubbly for that - but it's not exactly original either, reminds me a lot of U2

Did it ever occur to you that maybe there's something wrong with you for not appreciateing this album, and not with the album or everyone who likes it? Just a suggestion, ya know, because DSotM is pretty much universally regarded as one of the best albums of all time.
you're just angry because he offended the prog necronomicon.

Sufjan Stevens - The Age of Adz (9/10)
I really don't know what he was thinking making this album, I mean its just so freaking weird, but thats the best part about it. This is Sufjan Stevens's Kid A; his dive into the unexplored (at least for him). Its experimental, its catchy, its just plain weird, but under all of that its just Sufjan Stevens, same as he ever was. My only problem with this album is that its a bit too long for my taste, but its packed with great ideas, and even the 25 minute closer doesn't wear out its welcome.
sufjan stevens is a genius and like many geniuses sometimes he's absolutely unbearable
sufjan stevens is a genius and like many geniuses sometimes he's absolutely unbearable
I can agree with that to an extent, but I'm not really sure what you mean by that.
He's definitely up there with the most pretentious musicians of today though. I mean c'mon 50 states? Nice try.
Opeth- Blackwater Park. A++

Can't wait for Hawaii!!! But seriously, props to him if he actually makes 50 great albums.
Can't wait for Hawaii!!! But seriously, props to him if he actually makes 50 great albums.
Yea, I think he admitted that it was a marketing ploy though so I don't know if he is going to continue with the 50 states gimmick or what. It would be awesome though.
I'm pretty late on this one, but I just have to tell you your review is the worst pile of decayed horse manure I have ever read in my entire life. You don't even seem like you're trolling, do you. Seriously, I can only conclude that you were repeatedly molested as a child while this album was playing in the background. That's the only reason I can come up with for this "review", and if you really were, you truely have my condolences for missing up on this album because of that.

make sure to mention Roger Waters's Terrigood voice.

I don't listen to Hip Hop because "I like good beats and bass", I listen to it for the character and expression of the artist.
If you don't get a sense of character with even the first track then I'm not sure you're listening to that style of music with open arms.
Also, I think too many people in general are concerned with the "fanbase" more than the actual music.

The beats are too in your face and sort of block out the actual lyrics imo.

I first heard Bastard with headphones on and I heard the lyrics fine. I don't pay my full attention to them anyway, if I was interested in the lyrics, I'd get the script and read it like a book.

Earl Sweatshirt - Earl (2010)
4/5
Wow I am very surprised by this, I liked this a lot more than a majority of Tyler's stuff beats, lyrics and all. It's also not everyday I listen to some rap album and find it great.
However I didn't like how young he sounded (ends up he was only 16) and there was only a track or two I didn't like
It's also incredibly short.
Any suggestions where I should go from here?

Wait another 3 years for EARL to be old enough to leave Samoa.
If you didn't enjoy BASTARD I highly doubt you'll enjoy Tyler's other album.
According to mankind TTC and Earl Sweatshirt are the only members of OFWGKTA
