9/10 Well it's not exactly the last album I heard, but it's a contender for AOTY for sure. Surprisingly original, beautiful lyricism, great instrumentation only outdone by her vocals; it doesn't feel overwhelming enough to be a perfect 10 imo, but it's getting there. [editline]23rd October 2011[/editline]
According to mankind TTC and Earl Sweatshirt are the only members of OFWGKTA
Let's be honest, the only one who will ever come close is Hodgy and even then that's a long shot.
Wait another 3 years for EARL to be old enough to leave Samoa. If you didn't enjoy BASTARD I highly doubt you'll enjoy Tyler's other album.
I've heard Goblin and I thought that was better but only by small margin But I'll still listen to Wolf when it comes out
I've heard Goblin and I thought that was better but only by small margin But I'll still listen to Wolf when it comes out
Tyler clearly has a lot of talent, and he has the potential to make something really great with Wolf, but he probably won't.

[editline]23rd October 2011[/editline]
I've heard Goblin and I thought that was better but only by small margin But I'll still listen to Wolf when it comes out
I think Goblin is a better album, but I'd rather hear Bastard.
Depends on your opinion of what "Really Great" is.
Well he's playing all of his cards right, he's created a likable and interesting persona for himself, he clearly has the capacity to make good music (evident by Yonkers, Tron Cat, Bastard, all of his good tracks), he even managed to market himself well and now he has a large group of followers, but his music is so damn inconsistent and that was the problem with both Goblin and Bastard.

For a 19 year old, Goblin is superb. Even on its own, it's got plenty of creative things. Nice experience.
[img_thumb]http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-F6QJH7x-8rI/Thbdhww_FxI/AAAAAAAAAks/FdRhuovLka0/s1600/Mastodon+The+Hunter+Album+Art+Holy+Grail+From+Hell.jpg[/img_thumb] I'm not sure what to say about this album. It's got it's high points, but its fairly disappointing so far. Anyone else had a listen yet?
I dare say It's excellent, almost as good as Crack the Skye. About the same level of goodness as Blood Mountain, though a very different style. Mastodon is such an amazing band that they can pull off this slightly more atmospheric and emotional style with the same energy as in say Blood Mountains in-your-face really intense style
Very fun and joyful album. Too Long is too long though so 3/10.
M83 Hurry Up, We're Dreaming. [t]http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd517/Banana_Bandit/HurryUpWereDreaming.jpg[/t] Anthony Gonzalez doesn't just record a record of related songs. He brings you into the world of his dreams and you feel like you are experiencing the innocence of childhood again when you could just dream and imagine whatever you wanted and go into your own worlds. He put a lot of work into using different instruments, vocals and collaborations to make this album represent the uniqueness and magic that we see in our dreams. Now matter what kind of genre you like, I recommend that you turn off the lights, lay down in a comfortable spot and play this on speakers around you to feel like you are inside of the dream world that this album creates. Drugs are optional but they will strongly enhance the experience.
9.5/10

It has amazing atmosphere, great story and incredible instrumentation! Its a bit long, since it's an hour and 40 minutes, but I think that thats only a plus side, because the music is so amazing that it could even be longer without getting boring. Also, the album has great singers, like James LaBrie (Dream Theater), Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad), Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth), etc. The ONLY bad side is that the twist ending comes right in the middle of an amazing climax. It really ruins the part and I really wished that it'd come in the end, after the climax. The inhumanly great highlights here are Day 2: Isolation, Day 3: Pain and Day 16: Loser.
-.-
Well I was going to give it a perfect score but in reality no album is perfect so using my method of measuring my level of enjoyment using this machine I hook up to myself to measure my brain waves I have concluded that the average amount of coolness in the album is equal to 9.99488799899/10.
also pie you a fan of Violent Femmes?
I have their first album and I really like it.
I have their first album and I really like it.
1982.... I can't even explain how they managed to sound like that in those times.
1982.... I can't even explain how they managed to sound like that in those times.
I swear they were a 90s band the first time I heard them. I think it's because Blister in the Sun was released as a single way late somewhere in the 90s and it became a hit so bands were listening to it thinking, "man let's sound like that!" so they sort of made their impact way late.
Daughters - Daughters (4.3/5) As dissonant as it is beautiful and as abrasive as it is catchy. Daughters is a crazy little mathcore/grind gem. Its really hard to pin this to one genre though, its all over the place, and it doesn't have screaming like mathcore and grindcore usually do. Instead the vocals are mostly spoken/sung in this borderline insane, crooning voice. Anyways, highly recommended to anyone who likes any of the things I mentioned or is interested in trying something different.
i guess I'll just refer to panda bear's list for future music suggestions

Canada Songs is mathcore though. And yes, Daughters are great.
I really feel obscure band has grown as a band in the release of this album that I legally purchased in vinyl because I'm so HARDCORE the album art really speaks to me and is extremely creative and provokes every emotion that their music repetitively provokes because it all sounds similar also I PRE-ORDERED this album with MONEY because I'm A GREAT SUPPORTER OF THE BAND and I'd never download music illegally

John Williams-Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Original Motion Picture Soundtrack- 2004 (Originally 1997)- 5 Mark Hamill NOOOs out of 5 Because I am a weirdo who loves film score, lots of nostalgia in this thing. Still imo the best Star Wars soundtrack. Its missing a few pieces of music but is still a great package.

[editline]1st November 2011[/editline] Whatever you call it, The Hit is easily one of the best songs I've heard in a while.
