Had to look up what it was because you are a sod. Chinese fusion hip hop? Not seen that.
haha sorry I'm a little high :v: yeah it's really interesting, it's got a lot of eastern influence. I haven't heard any of his other stuff but this album is great
I've heard good things about this album by Onra aswell strayebyrd, I haven't got round to listening to it myself: Onra - Long Distance: I'll have to check out the album you posted aswell I guess  [editline]4th March 2012[/editline]
nah the xx are great, but i wouldn't say they are a defining indie pop band by any means. outside of the lead singles they are quite downtempo, verging on experimental
I always think of Of Montreal when it comes to the poster-boy for Indie Pop.
yeah that Onra album was cool, thanks.
the mars volta - noctourniquet very, very glorious album. it's feels unorthodox in the same way that amputechture did, which is by no means whatsoever a bad thing... stylistically it's a lot slower and it takes it time. similar in the way octahedron did except it's not nearly as boring in the time it takes to progress... it's also apparently a good concept album (like most of their discography) that i'm too lazy to meticulously dissect right now. it also has more significantly more usage of electronics and synths than previously explored in their discography. (with the exception ambuletz and copernicus, other small tracks on previous releases) but unlike bedlam, this and octahedron flew together much more well and actually seemed relatively strong altogether instead of bedlam constantly changing moods and overall feeling like a collection of tracks. this is a new alleyway for cedric and omar, only really neighbouring octahedron's... 4/5 Key Tracks Include: Dyslexicon, Trinkets Pale Of Moon, The Malkin Jewel, Empty Vessels Make The Loudest Sound, In Absentia (for the weirdest reason the image resized to something such as the size of 2500x2500 when i posted it first time around, surprised the hell out of me)
The fucking sounds in that album are crazy. The synths in the opening I wasn't ready for. In Absentia is probably my favorite on that album.

Classic post-grunge. Give "All The Kids Are Right" a listen for a general idea of the album. A real classic, shame it went under the radar. 9/10

i never understood why you guys write essays about albums you either like it or you dont you, or you can summarise why you liked in a couple of words [editline]5th March 2012[/editline] eg the parts you liked best or were different
Best Rosetta album imo. The Galilean Satellites is awesome too but if you thought Wake/Lift was a little long then you would probably find that album even harder to get through. A Determinism of Morality does nothing for me though, still might be worth checking out for you since its their shortest by far.
ADOM is their most hardcore influenced. The speed is ramped up a lot. And the closing song is as wonderful as music can get. Nothing stands out but nothing is boring either. 3.5/5
The last album I listened to was 88 by Kashiwa Daisuke, which is one of my favorite albums. Just a very pretty and relaxing thing. I'd give it an 8.5/10 or so, if only because Swan Song and In The Lake drag a little. If you're interested in listening, I'd recommend the song Quartz. It's short, pretty, and gives you a good feel for what the album sounds like.
Onra - Long Distance:
AH THANK YOU For whatever reason I have a desktop-sized version of the album cover in my desktops folder. I knew it was an album cover but I had no idea what. As thanks for reminding me, here it is why not. Going on your like of Kashiwa Daisuke and the fact you don't have them in your Last.fm library, I'm going to recommend ...and Water Cycles by Motoro Faam. Very similar music I think. I guess it's also the last album I listened to. [editline]5th March 2012[/editline] too

It can also influence people to listen to something rather than the "yep it's good".
Exactly, while I agree that music is for the most part subjective, I don't see the problem with explaining which parts of a piece of music appeal to you and why, or what puts you off something.
i can get that across without using a massive wall of text a lot of it is superfluous
Over time, I begin to think that I was wrong about you, En-Guage. That you aren't as retarded as some of your posts make you seem. But there's always that one instance that removes that doubt from my thoughts; and this is one of them. ~*~ superfluous as fuck~*~
thanks bro you seem cool too
I like you, man. But these posts sometimes...
dw man i'm not out to gain e cred
you ain't out to get e cred - but e cred out to get you

Ryuichi Sakamoto - Thousand Knives of Ryuichi Sakamoto - 1978 A- This guy in the last 20 years has put out some really worthy classical albums. But before then, he was really grasping the electronic synth vibes from his group "Yellow Magic Orchestra". What we have here is his first record, purely made with synths. All I can say is all the energy from the YMO band is here, the really clunky beats with the smooth synthesizers create this vibrant, colourful atmosphere. Definitely different from his other stuff.
i never understood why you guys write essays about albums you either like it or you dont you, or you can summarise why you liked in a couple of words [editline]5th March 2012[/editline] eg the parts you liked best or were different
Writing a good review can entice someone to check out an album more so then a simple good/bad vote. The only case where I would consider a good/bad vote to hold any weight is if It was from someone who I knew I shared a similar taste with in music, only time that happens is when friends message me with an album suggestion. Generally though a review will also give you a feel of what to expect and typically I can gauge how much I'm going to like the album based on albums I've heard with similar elements/sounds. No one here is exactly a professional reviewer but saying in-depth reviews are meaningless makes you seem like a fool.
Stereolab - Mars Audiac Quintet - 1994 part of the golden three stereolab albums. it sounds a lot more 90's than the other two (Emperor Tomato Ketchup and Dots & Loops) due to there being a lot of jangle guitar and organ droning compared to the mooging and sampling of later albums. basically a catchy selection of indie rock songs. four bob moog's out of five
for a second I thought that was karlheinz stockhausen for some reason but yeah that's prob. stereolab's second best album of what i've heard. only listened to that, dots and loops, transient random noise bursts..., and peng!. where do i go after emperor tomato ketchup once I listen to it???
hah i should review every album of theirs: Peng! - fun but very very early Transient Random-Noise Bursts with Announcements - really good lo-fi rock Mars Audiac Quintet - probably their 3rd best Emperor Tomato Ketchup - their absolute best Dots and Loops - their 2nd best Cobra and Phases Group Play Voltage in the Milky Night - nope Sound-Dust - not bad Margerine Eclipse - pretty good but misses the late backup singer Chemical Chords - quite pleasant Not Music - too long but not bad you can move on to their compilations which contain the great songs that never got released on an LP. Space Age Bachelor Pad Music and Refried Ectoplasm are really good records.
i have refried ectoplasm simply for french disko but i really need to give it proper listen as well also what about the first of the microbe hunters?
Man On The Moon: The End Of Day- Kid Cudi (2009) 8.5/10 Genre: hip-hop, psychadelia, trip-hop Love this album, it's really grown on me with a couple listens, I remember listening to it a while ago and not really liking it but I returned to it like a week ago and listened through it and was like, wait this is actually fantastic. It's a really good album, really unique, great atmosphere to the whole thing, despite being mainly a hip-hop album I get vibes of bands like Pink Floyd, Aphex Twin and stuff, and it's got a lot of singing as well as rapping. The rapping's often got a flow similar to singing as well. It's really mellow, but got some really good tracks that work loud and energetic. Got some good guests as well. MGMT, Ratatat, Kanye West and a few more. Definitely worth checking out even if you're not massively into hip-hop because for one thing it's definitely not a straightup hip-hop album and secondly it absolutely doesn't have a hip-hop feel. in fact it almost feels wrong to call this a hip-hop album. Either way it's a fantastic album, but definitely a grower so don't disregard it if you don't like it first listen. Favourite tracks- Soundtrack 2 My Life, Day 'N' Nite, Sky Might Fall, Pursuit Of Happiness, My World
i have refried ectoplasm simply for french disko but i really need to give it proper listen as well also what about the first of the microbe hunters?
bad, don't bother
White Light/White Heat Good album by The Velvet Underground, it is something different compared to all other 60/70 music out there.
