10/10, holy shit I did not expect it to be that good

See it less as a concrete "Listen to them in this order" and more of an easy entry point. It saves you listening to Absolutego first
I listened to Akuma No Uta first and loved it then decided to do the Chronological thing with Absolutego+ next.

Pulp - Separations
Genre: Alternative rock, art pop
A step in the right direction for a band that was still very much in development and very much far from perfect at this point.
Side A(tracks 1-5) is decent but not particularly memorable, side B(tracks 6-9) is such a vast improvement over everything Pulp did up to that point that I feel that it would have been smarter and would have had more of an impact if the tracks comprising it were released as an EP.
"Countdown" and "My Legendary Girlfriend" are absolutely fantastic pop songs.
All in all, Separations is a well-formed if ultimately non-essential Pulp album, one that I would still recommend to people based on the strength of its B-side alone.
7/10
On an effeminate English 90s bands binge, oh yeah.

Suede - Suede
One of the most ridiculously hyped English bands of the 90s and one of the few ridiculously hyped English bands that were actually good.
At its best when it's at its angstiest, at its most pretentious, most grandiose, most self-indulgent.
"Animal Nitrate" and "Pantomime Horse" are personal highlights.
Wonderfully energetic and over the top most of the time, good album would bang.
8/10
Harakiri - 6/10. It's starting to grow on me, but I have a hard time listening to "Figure it Out." Serj can do a lot better lyrically than "CEOs are the disease."
Get Up With It is for ambient fans bro. It's a great album too, probably his most soothing behind Bitches Brew.

liking the style :quagmire:
who listens to non-classical music hahaaaaaaaaaa

the 21st piano concerto is one of the most enjoyable pieces of classical music I have yet to hear. it makes me feel pleased with the universe and everything. I've only listened to number 22 once but it's almost as good.

fucking awesome. I'm finding that piano + strings is probably my favourite form of classical music, or the most accesible to me, whether it's in the symphonic form like the Mozart album above or a small chamber ensemble, and actually chamber music itself is another favourite thing of mine. hearing individual instruments is so much more intimate and personal sounding, and definitely less intimidating to a relative beginner like me. i can see why this is considered one of Brahms' best works. the way the melody floats from one instrument to another, through different variations and such is um cool
how the fuck do I rate things like this

How do you do that formatting Hakita? It seems like an ordeal to produce, but the technical side of it interests me.
Nice formatting Hakita but I do find it kinda hard to read because the font clashes with some of the album art backgrounds and isn't the most easy-to-read font in the first place

Public Enemy - How You Sell Soul to a Soulless People Who Sold Their Soul?
Not being a huge Public Enemy fan, I always assumed they stopped recording in the mid 90's or thereabouts. When I found out that they were still making music I went for this album first because I recognised one song, Harder Than You Think. Overall the album is pretty solid, Chuck D puts in a lot of effort as usual but Flavor Flav's whole persona seems tired and forced. The topics are great, Chuck D mostly talks about the current state of hip hop and rappers glorifying a life of crime, which is pretty bold seeing as even the politically charged etc rappers nowadays incorporate violence into their lyrics. A great album by PE and I'm glad to see their still in business. Oh and for a favourite track I would say either Harder Than You Think, which has an amazing instrumental, or Sex, Drugs & Violence with KRS-One.

I saw them live at a festival and it was the best show I've ever been to. They really know how to get a crowd going.

Horrible font, in my opinion. I can barely read it without any spaces between the lines/sentences
[editline]30th July 2012[/editline]
you should also fix the kerning (the space between letters) so the stroke doesn't collide with each other
[editline]30th July 2012[/editline]
The font works with the logo, but as regular informative text, all-caps and squished together makes it really hard to read.

Alright then, I'll change the font for the next time I'll do that, if I ever will.
I'm seeing Iron Maiden tonight after being a fan of them since I was three. I'm going through their more recent stuff cause I haven't listened to anything past this album.

Iron Maiden - Brave New World
Genre: Heavy Metal
This is one of the, if not the first (not sure) Iron Maiden albums to come out in 2000 and it came with a pretty different image change. Still theatrical as always but this is a more futuristic image and sound for a new millennium. I think this is on of Iron Maiden's best albums actually. It has plenty of great vocal melodies and interesting writing. The instrumentation reminds me of Somewhere In Time but with a little less synth and a bit more heavier. One of the only negatives I find in this album is that, despite how much I like the choruses that Bruce can come up with the songs on here are pretty lengthy and only by having parts of the songs being repeated between instrumental interludes; you can see this in almost half of the tracks on the album. But still, it's a great album I think and one of my favorites.
Highlights: The Wickerman, Ghost of the Navigator, Out of the Silent Planet

Iron Maiden - Dance of Death
Genre: Heavy Metal
Inversely of Brave New World, I think this is awful and possibly Iron Maiden's worst album. I could just summarize this review easily and say "Boring" and that'll serve it justice. Wouldn't recommend this at all. It's a bunch of boring stories being told over boring music for way too long. Not fun at all.
