Melody Gardot
The Absence (2011)

The first time I listened to the album it sort of lingered with a bad taste in my mouth; it didn't exactly feel like 'Melody Gardot' to me.
I didn't particularly like the new direction in terms of themes; similar to Paul Simon's Graceland, The Absence is influenced by an African style of music (presumably, but I'm not expert).
But after a second listen I just totally got it. I fell in love with the new style (although it's still jazz in it's core) and in the album. It's definitely an album that grows on you if you are used to Melody Gardot's previous albums.
Swans
The Seer

A
As expected, this feels like a successor to SftB, but it's a lot more focussed with the post-rock elements that Swans started to develop in SftB
now being the focus of the music. That said there's still a range of styles from the intensity of Avatar to the drawn-out and droney title track to
the folky Song for a Warrior, and even a taste of old no wave Swans on 93 Ave. B Blues. The album isn't as much of an immersive experience as
StfB was, but the musical quality is fantastic. It's good to see them back on form.
I wouldn't really compare The Seer with Soundtracks though, they sound completely different. Sure, the lenght is about the same, but sound-wise it sounds a lot like My Father.

Beatdown Metalcore
JEEZ. Agressive as fuck, fucking makes me punch nuns in their cunts every time i listen to it. 8,5/10
This is the first track, if you like the genre you should check it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raoiI-jD5g4

Meatloaf, Bat Out of Hell
As crazy as it seems, it was actually the first time I've listened to that album. I've heard countless time how great it was, so I gave it a try to see if all these critics gave it justice. They did. Holy snap is it good. To be honnest, I expected something completely different. The title song, Bat Out of Hell, is for me the best song of the album. It's full of energy and super catchy. Paradise by the Dashboard Light never gets old too. It's their biggest it of this album and there's a reason why.
Overall, my ranking :
I agree, but I was talking about Vancouver, which is more of a hardcore album than a Post-Hardcore album.
Vancouver definitely had a more hardcore feel to it, I feel like it was almost lost or sort've more generic. Jordan's vocals were certainly grittier back then.

SWANS - White Light From The Mouth Of Infinity
It finally seems that SWANS has gotten their new sound under control with this one and has managed to make it interesting. It's not as dark as Children of God and not as boring and poppy as The Burning World. It finds a nice place in between those and sits right there and does the best it can. It's a good album, one where I liked the majority of the tracks. The first half is almost entirely good with the exception of "Song For Dead Time". The second half gets a bit more boring and you start to notice how long this album goes on for at that point. Still, it's a really solid album; probably their most approachable and simultaneously entertaining one.
7.5/10
Pretty much spot on, White Light's biggest downfall is definitely its length, which is strange because Soundtracks for the Blind is twice as long but feels much less bloated to me.

easily the best post-drone noisewave of 2010. halfway through Crow Feathers & Coyote Tail my vision was flooded with ancient native american symbols, and seconds later I lost consciousness. when I awoke, I found my desk covered in printed pictures of the hit Cuban-American entertainer Pitbull. i don't even own a printer

day after tomorrow - Primary Colours
8/10
It's a solid jpop release. What sets them apart from a lot of other jpop groups is their lack of a bassist (they instead have a keyboard player), giving them a slightly different sound

Actually, I'll do their other two albums too

day after tomorrow - Elements
6.5/10
Not nearly as good as Primary Colours. They hadn't really found their sound so the songwriting is much weaker, and there's really no standout songs

Much better than Elements, and almost on a par with Primary Colours. It's just more of the same, though, really

Squarepusher-Ufabulum 8/10
Some very strange and very good tracks on here. For me the standout song is Dark Steering. Some tracks sound like they could be from Aphex Twin really. Very glitchy, IDM kinda stuff. It's definitely not for everyone though.

SWANS - Love of Life
I guess this is the "sequel" or "sister" to White Light From the Mouth of Infinity. Similar artwork, similar sounds, but very different. Love of Life is a much more, what I think, a nihilistic record. It's themes have grown much darker and bleak since White Light and you can hear them in almost all of the tracks. Lyrics that discuss the insignificance of you as a singular person to nature, love of someone who will one day die, ending another creature's life; they hit home with me. Sonically this album is more aggressive and developed than any other SWANS album. I can spot lots of influences such as Post-Punk with "Amnesia" and traditional singer song-writer ballads like the closer "No Cure for the Lonely". One other thing I loved about this album were the interviews and sound experiments they have on it with the tracks titled "(-)". This is the first SWANS record that hasn't bored me in the end and one whose welcome stayed throughout. I think this is my favorite SWANS record thus far.

If you don't feel like listening to Acid Bath's short discography (and you're a bad person if you don't), or you're trying to get into the band, this album basically has most of their best songs in demo form. Most of the material is from When the Kite String Pops, though, so you'll be missing out on a good chunk of Paegan Terrorism Tactics. For fans, most of the songs on here sound better here than they do on the studio albums (Bones of Baby Dolls, Jezebel, Dr. Seuss is Dead in particular sound badass), so if you've already listened to their discography then this is a must have.

Its alright they just doesn't seem that songs that are memorable. I haven't heard 99 problems the main single from this album for about 5 years and it is still as good if not better then I remember.
Its no "The Blueprint" but it is good ya
Highlight: December 4th the sampling of Jays mum and just the whole instrumental

So I'm listen right now to a new record I bought which goddamn amazing. It's the Swedish Progrssive Death Metal band, Edge of Sanity's Crimsion I and II on one record so I geuss I have to review both of them.

Crimsion I is a monumental album for Death Metal as it's one continous 40 minute song made up of very small parts. It tells a sci-fiction story. It sounds like Death Metal, but isn't devoid of clean vocals or melody.

Crimsion II tells a sequel story of Crimsion I, in the same style, except this time with keys and some other effects. This time Dan Swano, the lead singer, does this album solo and "re-formed" EoS for the single record.
I feel that Crimsion II is slightly better as I fucking love keys in metal, but both get a 10/10. The record I got came with highquality artwork both covers, had all the lyrics (which is a lot) and with some clear green records. $30 might be a steep price, but the high quality of both the songs, production and packaging made it a deal for me.

7/10
Genre: Blues rock, stoner rock, psychedelic rock, swamp rock
Pretty good album. Dax Rigg's vocals really shine on here and the songs are well written. It seem a bit under focused, though.
Best tracks are Endmouth, Dead Girl (Acid Bath cover), The Hangman's Daughter, Paroled in '54
Worst track is Big Black Backwards.
