Personally I don't think its worth having a car if you live and work in London. Public transport is faster and cheaper most of the time.
Ill probably get shot for saying this in a car thread but get a 125cc motorbike. All you need is a CBT, provisional license and you can ride one under L plates. Fastest way to get around in London and it sips fuel.
In london a bike makes sense.

I guess I was a bit harsh when I called that rice.
I do know of an egregious example of rice that I need to vent about.
There's a guy at my school who got an E38 740iL for his 16th birthday. Because he's a moron, he gave it a big-ass rear wing, a loud fart can, fake hood scoop, and ricer rims. He replaced both the taillights with Altezzas and the headlights with those annoying purple ones. He's lowered it enough that it looks like the rear wheels would hit the car if he went over a bump. I want to smash him in the face.

What's a CBT?
Also my Dad has ridden motorcycles all his life. He's an experienced rider who's had his fair share of bumps and knocks. I'm not sure how he'd feel about me pootling around on a scooter that would get eaten by a bus if I lost concentration.
