Speaking of transmissions, I've started mainly using the autostick in my car. It lets you shift manually by moving the stick up and down without worrying about a third pedal, etc. I know it's obviously not like the real thing since there are many limitations, but I do see what they mean when they say it gives you more control. I get more torque out of the first 2 gears since normally the car is very eager to get to third and fourth where the torque is sort of dead.

The main thing I hate about autosticks is when downshifting to like a stop light, you can't just push in the clutch, slow down, and put it in neutral. The only way to downshift an autostick without jerking is to give it some gas, which isn't what you want to do when heading for a row of cars.
Yes! I fucking hate that too. If I'm doing any more than 20 or 30kph and downshift to the first gear, the car jerks and goes really slow. Thankfully, in my car anyway, downshifts are automatic. It has 4 gears and I think when downshifting it goes 3rd below 40, 2nd below 30, and then 1st below 20. Works pretty well.

Yeah, I usually just downshift to second and let the computer shift to first.
