Oh god, i only took 40min to check all the brakes + changeing the wheels from All-year wheels to summer wheels (which are just stock metal rims :( ) I also need to get some new brake pads... jesus this car is being overhauled now..
Guys i have a bit of a problem thats really fucking with me. Well to start i picked up a car quite cheap, for reasons i now see (it has alot of faults, but hey its a nice project car i suppose). Well, to the point as im driving around 30-45 mph a really loud vibration sort of rumbling noise appears, and starts to vibrate the pedals aswell. So far ive replaced the wheel bearing and the offside driveshaft + CV joint. Since i replaced the driveshaft the noise isnt as bad but its still there etc. So now im stuck, back to square 1. Help? (car is a mk3 ford mondeo btw)
your tires arent balanced properly take them to a tire shop, let them balance them for you
Yeah, if you're a blond female lol. I never leave my car in gear. The only time I'd think it'd be an advantage is if you've been on a track and the brakes needs to cool down, but otherwise nono.
we usually leave the car in gear during the winter since the handbrake could freeze up since there might be water in there, otherwise no no
I think i'll just leave this here

Stanching: a combination of low ride height, alignment, and negative camber to get the tire's sidewall as close as possible to the fender. What do you guys think of it? Personally, I think it looks retarded.

Wouldn't it also reduce the surface area of the tyre in contact with the floor and thus the grip? It seems like a pretty retarded idea. Reminds me of those artistic caricatures of cars where the wheels are massive and angled and the rest of the car is teeny tiny.
As I said, it's retarded, but it's getting pretty popular.
If you mean the rims, I agree to 110%
My God, there's a site dedicated to this: http://www.stanceworks.com/ One of the thread regulars has a Golf MK1. How does this make you feel? :v:
I think it looks sexy if done right. Like the last pic. Dat Silvia :q:
How the fuck do you go over a bump?
How the fuck do you go over a bump?
jump it :v:
How the fuck do you go over a bump?
Like you do in a Lambo, Ferrari, or any low sportscar really. Alot of the japanese sportscars i ride are as low or lower than a Ferrari. Just slow down and go "sideways" over the bump. It is a problem yes, but it's no biggie at all. Get an offroader and jump that shit :v:

Those rims and the car itself look brilliant.
It's called stancing. Very impractical, but I actually think it can look really good. It's normally fairly tastefully, not stupid body kits or whatever. They just give it an aggressive stance. I prefer this modding craze than the stupid body kit craze.
