Getting a Supra anywhere in my area would run me an easy 30 grand. Then the insurance companies are not use to seeing supra's so they jack up the price, there goes a shitload on insurance a month. Except it will probably do 160 or 170 in the quarter. How do you think cars get that fast? It's called sponsors and advertising.
The Supra was great, but it had horrible sales numbers. It was technically a big flop. Otherwise, it was amazing. Also, that generation Celica was available in GT-4 trim in Europe and Asia. It was a 240 something hp AWD rally competitor. As for the MR2, that thing is a death trap in the wrong hands. Think sudden snap oversteer and a chassis that couldn't handle the transverse mid engine setup.
Guys I'm thinking about getting a Supra TT from craigslist, I'm gonna go look at the car and the guy will hold it for me until the end of may once I have a HKS Turbo system to put in there and hopefully a Greddy BOV (replacing stock stuff).
I need an exhaust also, any suggestions? No fart cans either please.

These kinds of cars are best saved for the track, and not used as daily drivers (which they often are.) You really do look like a massive twat driving around in a car that looks like that, regardless of how 'tuned' you think it is. But it must be a really expensive body kit, costing over 20k and all.

As a whole, I think you look at both. If it's a car worth looking at, be it due to its uniqueness or luxurious nature, you're often curious to see who is driving it. Personally, I'd hate to drive anything with a loud muffler because not only do I care how people see me as a driver on the road, but it also does change the traffic's behavior around you quite a lot. You generally get a lot more respect for driving a quiet stock car than you would for driving a loud, seemingly outrageous car.
This is what I see on the road, anyway. Not to jump to any conclusions, but the people who have heavily modified cars tend to drive like pricks, which is probably the biggest reason I have for hating modifications.

I'll give you that, but driving a stock car aint really giving you more respect then a modified car... it's a rarity here in Dk to see a nice and/or heavy modified car, because most of the modified cars are teenagers who just turned 18, (and sad to say that i'm probably one of them, though i'm trying to make my car look like a original mk2 GTI instead of putting shitty stuff on it) But that still doesn't make a car like that supra a ricer.

Well, I wasn't singling out the Supra. I was talking about cars that are visually heavily modified. I live in a community that isn't very, uh, aware of any modifications other than pointless visual changes since, well, that's all we have here.
