Well Facepunch here's the story, Apparently my brother or his friend had left their scooter in the driveway at night, so when my dad came to go to work he ran over it and oil started leaking from the car. He's pissed and he doesn't know how much money it's going to cost to fix it. If anyone could help identify the part that's broken and how much it would cost, it would help me very much. At the moment I do not have a camera besides my phone that doesn't send pictures so I'll draw it and explain. FACTS - Ford Taurus SES Car - It seems that a big red container at the bottom is the gas tank, and a tube running from it is cut from where it's supposed to go into a cylinder thing that has a tube that goes into the rest of the car. Any help is appreciated I have no knowledge of cars, please tell me to add information if needed.
Tube running up to the Fuel pump?
So is it oil or fuel leaking now? Also, if it's really just that small tube broken it really shouldn't cost a lot.
Tube running up to the Fuel pump?
I think I got it resolved, I think it's the hose connecting to the gas filter, so it's been cut. It should be a quick fix by replacing the line. I'd guess it was fuel coming from the tank, it smells like gasoline.
Been following this thread for a while but I haven't had much luck getting a good picture of my car with the crappy snow and slushy weather here lately. Snow and slush is gone now but it's been raining like mad, oh well I suppose rainy makes for a nice picture. It has some chips and rust that need to be worked out when the weather gets better. On the other side there's a small patch of rust and the bottom of the trunk is starting to rust. Also you can see the paint at the bottom there behind the front wheel is peeling too, I'd like to just repaint that entire bottom piece. Got some good painting tips from zotic so hopefully when the sun starts rolling out I can get to it.
I'd honestly pay zotic to fix up my car, he does good work. :v:
Yeah Zotic come to Nærum and fix up my car. I'll give you a free pizza from the local Cantinos! No wait scratch that, you do it for free!
first time ever i actually feel love.... and first time people actually like something i've done [editline]08:49PM[/editline] rated hearts to all <3
Seriously! Look at those ricer rims!
And the ricer mesh trashcan
I have the same car =) You need to polish your headlights, I promise it will make your car look a million times nicer.
That is another thing I have on my to-do list, especially the right headlight is pretty bad. It's not really visible in the picture but in the right one there's some kind of residue or something inside making it look fogged up all the time. Again just waiting for a sunny day, don't have much of a garage to work in.

Next thing ya know is it will look good as new =) I know a bit about cosmetic stuff on these cars
What would you guys recommend for 9-13K? Economy has high priority, I'll be driving 160 miles a week. I'm thinking about an 09' corolla, 07' fit, maybe maybe a 07' rabbit (avg mpg and unknown reliability). Before this I was seriously going to get my realistic dream car an 02' is300, but even though its an amazing car with bulletproof reliability, it only gets 21 mpg (premium required) and most likely a shitty resalue value in 5 years when 30mpg will be the norm. I'm not sure if facepunch can actually answer this question though, since last time someone actually recommended a 20 year old RX-7 at that price range as if they have no understanding of things like reliability and fuel economy. In short I'm looking for a "practical" car, but I'm willing to spend a bit more on gas and insurance if it is something actually cool.
I wish I had a Jetta, they look pretty nice
Fits are great on gas, almost sporty for their class, and pretty roomy.
Fits are great on gas, almost sporty for their class, and pretty roomy.
yeah the fit does seem pretty cool, top gear survey had it listed pretty high as well. I'm a bit on the border on the looks I guess, my dad saw one pass by on the road today and said it looked a little gay lol.
Why does so many people like old cars?
Why does so many people like old cars?
Cheaper to buy, cheaper to fix, and more fun. I'm not gonna buy a car from a Stealership.
Hey guys. I have an '88 Jeep Cherokee and amongst a million other problems, cruise control has stopped working. How can I go about diagnosing the reason?

You can get like 50mpg.
Fits are great on gas, almost sporty for their class, and pretty roomy.
I'd go with the Fit too, slow but fun. Great mileage and space too.
I wish I had a Jetta, they look pretty nice
Buy an older MK4 style Jetta, they are dirt cheap now you can pick up a good 1.8T or VR6 GLS for like 3-6k Or go for a 2.0 (slow) for less, it's easy to make them look good real quick.
:smug::respek::smug: [editline]01:13AM[/editline] I'm guessing you're looking for a reliable means of transportation, not anything with any kind of performance whatsoever?
Indeed.
Indeed.
Then I'd go with the Camry.
Hey guys. I have an '88 Jeep Cherokee and amongst a million other problems, cruise control has stopped working. How can I go about diagnosing the reason?
find the cruise control actuator. Look for vacuum leaks.
Hey guys. I have an '88 Jeep Cherokee and amongst a million other problems, cruise control has stopped working. That makes sense too. Braking should turn off the cruise control. Worth a shot maybe.
