I quit cold turkey. Did it pretty much because I felt like crap and couldn't run and stuff.

i was once too fucked up and asked for a cigarette, to my surprise i vomited because it was so awful and I am not smoking from that moment any more it's murrati faults, it's the most horrible shit you can smoke
spent a week in the country with family that I couldn't smoke around, which made it alot easier to quit when I didn't have as strong a craving for nicotine. being broke kinda helped from that point on as well. 10-12 bucks a pack? fuck that noise

I just stopped. Well, to be honest I stepped down to menthols first, then just stopped all together.

I still smoke, but only on occasion. My cousin quit smoking by giving himself something else to do. He'd usually have a cigarette in the morning, so, instead, he popped in a piece of Nicorette gum and went for a twenty-minute jog. It only took him a month to quit.
I stopped getting affected by nicotine and I started to hate the taste.
I smoke like 10 a day and I have urges to smoke more than that. Cigarettes are fucking terrible. I mean, I smoke 1-3mg of hydrogen cyanide a day, and for the most part I'm okay with it. If you're gonna take up smoking, roll your own with rolling tobacco, cigarette papers and filters. That tobacco usually has less filth in it. The shit they pump in to make it more addicting. I talked to this guy at my school recently who's doctor told him that his heart was all black and he only had a year left to live if he kept smoking. He still smokes. That would be motivating enough for me to quit. Honestly, I can't bring myself to not repeat the cycle otherwise.
I tried smoking and I didn't like it.

I was a retard, and started smoking at 14, and had been smoking for about 6-8 months before i quit...I basically had a reality check and realized I was being a total retard, and stopped cold turkey from there, and shit, it feels good man:buddy: :edit: I have picked up cigarettes here and there since then...but I really don't have a habit of it anymore.

Read the package next time you have a chance, do you think any of that stuff is natural in tobacco? Cold turkey doesn't really work well, no matter how much will power you think you have. I bought an e-cigarette off of deal extreme and it helped me quit in 2 weeks. Haven't had a craving or anything since.

Never smoked cigs, but for weed and caffeine I just remove it from my life completely. YOU CAN'T BE AROUND IT AT ALL.
Easy. Each day, smoke less than you did the day before. So for example if you smoked 20 cigarettes today, only smoke 16 tomorrow. The next day smoke 12. 8, 4, 2, 1. And then only smoke 1 per day until you run out of your pack and then don't buy another. Done. Your physical addiction will be gone in about 4 days. It's all mental from there on out. Don't be a pussy, kick the habit if that's what you're setting out to do. P.S. Marijuana is your friend.

Thank you, I did that for a while, but I can't get lower than five a day. I thought smoking would be easier to stop if I was smoking something else too. It is. So much easier.
