I don't doubt that, but I wasn't terribly interested in putting a ton into it in the first place to be fair.

Ehhh? Not all dating services are created equal. Also, the environment I'm in is not a prime dating environment. Engineering in general, as far as I can tell, doesn't have as many gay dudes (I'm probably just oblivious) and my classes are pretty sequestered in location from the rest of the campus. Not to mention everyone is super busy all the time it seems. So online dating is my best bet, it just isn't working as well as I'd like and I'm not seeing many people that really capture my interest.
Besides, it's not like I'm complaining about loneliness or my inability to find dates outright - in which case you have every right to call me out on my bullshit. I'm not putting in a ton of effort, but the two primary online platforms have been kinda frustrating experiences tbh. And trying more and more services right now when I'm busy and dealing with stuff that doesn't help relationships seems unwise, so I'm still taking a "break" from the dating thing.
I made an OKCupid profile and Tinder account not long ago because I got curious on how that worked here.
