that's the hard thing about depression, it makes it hard to accept solutions as viable. You have a hard time seeing hope as valid. So I understand why that happens. It's a difficult thing to fight within yourself.
I'd still list you as an exception, since the world kinda gave you the ol helicopter dick
Keep trying, keep fighting pls
I hate talking about my issues all the time because I know that no one wants to sit there and listen to me bitch about shit that doesn't really matter. I feel like I'm wasting everyone's time and truthfully, the only one who can change anything about it is me. I went out and got my GED, regardless of how I felt about myself and the world, and I can't tell you how much of a weight that is off of my shoulders. Once you can prove to yourself that you are indeed capable of something, that's all the push you need sometimes.

Oh my God guys
To the folks ITT who didn't know beforehand, I was raised in a Mormon family, haven't been to church in several years after reaching a compromise with my mom. She believes in it, I don't, we're both OK with it
Despite this I still get phone calls from Mormons every now and then begging me to come to church even though I'm pretty publicly gay and have many many reasons for not liking Mormonism
Well, they've officially crossed the line. A big group of Mormons just came into the store I work at, in front of a decent amount of customers, and personally invited me to come back to church. I wanted more than anything to tell them to fuck off, but I couldn't because I was at work, so I just gave a bunch of really polite bullshit responses in order to make them leave sooner
I'm so angry and humiliated
Why can't Mormons just leave me alone FOREVER??? My mom doesn't try to convert me so why should everyone else???????

If it's the same group of people constantly attempting to contact you and showing up at your work despite your protests I think you'd have grounds for a no contact order
Mormonism has always seemed cultish to me. Some youth groups and southern baptist churches can do shit near that, but Mormons have always taken the cake.
I'm not even going to take the sophomoric friendly path and avoid generalizations. I just don't like it.
Keep in mind that I have responded to Mormons angrily, to which they tell my mom, who in turn gets angry at me for being mean to people that only mean well blah blah blah
I really hate how a lot of people see Mormons as really nice people when in reality they're just scheming to get you to convert to their racist, sexist, homophobic cult. They're only nice in order to make people believe they're harmless
The only way I could get rid of these constant Mormon visitations is by submitting my resignation papers to Mormon HQ, which is a long guilt-trippy process covered with red tape (although doable) however I wouldn't be able to do it without my mom catching wind of it
It's a real catch 22. The only way I'd be able to resign is to move out, which I'll hopefully be doing sometime this year

See that just pisses me off more. Sorry you have to deal with that, but good on your for remaining the better person. I'd have a hard time hurting my mother, even incidentally, as well.
but on another (cooler) topic the prevailing theory for how the solar system evolved right now is that Jupiter migrated inwards, and entered a resonance orbit with Saturn. If you've done some DiffEq maths, you know that resonance causes things to go completely bonkers. What happened is that Uranus and Neptune were flung out into what was a highly, highly, dense asteroid/comet belt in the outer solar system.
As my astronomy professor put it, they swept through this belt like a drunk man across a sidewalk of pedes- (he paused here, lol) like a vacuum through a pile of cheerios. Now while on this drunken roam (his words, not mine), Uranus and Neptune began to swap places. Additionally, these rocky and icy bodies were being flung out of and INTO the system. In fact, this event likely gave earth the majority of its water. The moon was slagged several times- its 5 biggest craters are all from roughly the same time period, which all are different from the rest of its craters. So this model is probably accurate.
Anyways jupiter and saturn eventually moved out of resonance, and things settled down. This dense belt became two belts, the asteroid belt for rocks and the kuiper belt for comets. Rest became the oort cloud. Earth had water, the moon was partially molten again, and the planets were in the order they are today cept the that Uranus and Neptune are reversed from how they actually formed.
fucking space still blows my mind. What are the chances, statistically, of all of this happening? Then leading to water on earth, then life on earth, then humans, then me and a bunch of other people all griping on a forum? As my astronomy professor put it (he keeps ending notes on existential notes), "statistically none of you should exist. None of any of this should. Have a nice day!"

Yeah, the truth is that I still do really love my mother even if we don't agree on everything
I only just now realize at this point in life how lucky I am to have a good relationship with both of my parents
They want you at church for secret bible study make outs, duh
If there is ONE good thing that came from all this Mormon business it's that I made really good friends with two brothers who were the only other guys at church that liked anime and video games as much as I did. They ended up not going to church after a while either
I still hang out with them today
I just farted in my car and its too cold to open the window, i was choking.
That's lovely, I just spent the last 5 minutes cleaning my hornet, grindr and tinder.
