All things considered, you have to admit that it's still disconcerting to see the main character get stabbed through the chest AND DIE. That kind of thing doesn't happen every day.

The real question is, who's going wake up John's dreamself? The trolls had Feferi the "witch of life" and Vriska was woken by getting slapped to the Face by dream Terezi (I think).
Vriska was woken by getting slapped to the Face by dream Terezi (I think).
She was slapped after she woke up, and seeing how Karkat was "woken up"(he just went to sleep and was immediatelly his dreamself) I guess he will be immediatelly his dreamself.
Dude. She just murdered the main character.
She saved him you dumpass. Had Jack killed him before he was asleep, he wouldn't've woken up in the dreamself body or whatever. [editline]16th December 2010[/editline] Since Jack could have, I dunno, burned his body or something, and kill Rose had she attempted to awaken John after death.

I hate whenever a character has to use their dream self as their main body. What does that do to your consciousness? A dream is supposed to be hazy, a subconscious form of letting your brain rest and sort out the memories collected, and the characters' dream selves reflect this, with them doing stupid and silly things that they wouldn't do in real life, until they die and awaken permanently in their dream self. At what point does the dream stop being a hazy dream and sharpen to reality when the consciousness is shuttled to the dream self?
She saved him you dumpass. What I want to know is what Jack's plans are. He completely ravaged Prospit and more or less destroyed Skaia, starting the Reckoning way earlier than initially planned and gaining unmatchable power. What does he still want to do, just kill everyone because he's bored now?
The real question is, who's going wake up John's dreamself?
He's been running around the battlefield every time he goes to sleep since Prospit went boom, so he should be up and bout with no fuss already.
The "you are now your dream self" or "your dreamself is dead" business still bugs me, I mean, what happens if you go to sleep? Rose met Feferi acting all friendly and d-----ead, so I guess the death of the dreamself is along the lines of "you can still sleep, but you won't visit cool spiky planets and will see a lot of weird shit", but how would that be for Vriska, and now John? They shouldn't even need to sleep anymore, or...

ALSO someone leaked SUPER SECRET NEPETAQUEST 2011 SCREENSHOTS (Ya I didn't make these but I thought they were hilarious)
I only have one thing to say about the update: 8888)

I was mentioning last night in the chat that I needed a big reveal to get me more excited about Homestuck. This wasn't what I meant. :saddowns:

I have been reading this comic non-stop. It's definitely an excellent comic, though I really need my brain back to go study. Awesome update. My mind has been so thoroughly fucked with this comic that it has had five children already.
God Fucking Damnit Vriska
Vriska actually saved john, putting him to sleep so he could become his dreamself. He was going to get killed either way, but this way he isn't really dead. First nice thing she's ever done maybe?
AG: And you don't have to worry a8out me manipul8ting you to your death! AG: It is completely 8eneath me. Unlike her, I plan on taking the high road. AG: You see John, you and I actually have some things in common, 8ut you couldn't possi8ly understand why yet. AG: So I'm planning on helping you!
From John and Vriska's first chat.
Perhaps she put him to sleep so he would become his dreamself, like she did. Both people died in the Medium and woke up as their Prospitian dream selves. Vriska may have just saved John's life, but she did give him a choice on to whether or not to fall asleep in the first place. She's actively molding John into what she envisions him as the Heir of Breath to be, but we'll still have to see whether or not it's for John's good or for only her own amusement.
6:35 PM - cosmicShibbey: guys guys guys 6:35 PM - Rizzey: yes yes yes 6:35 PM - cosmicShibbey: bec+john sprite 6:35 PM - cosmicShibbey: discuss 6:35 PM - Lucinice: oh god 6:35 PM - Rizzey: aw snap
I have a feeling that Jack would have waited for him to fall asleep, but I could be horribly wrong. Besides, does someone have to fall asleep before dying to come back as their dream self?
One thing appeared to me. The bed is striking me with a very strong analogy. /theory It's not a real bed. It's an altar. It doesn't have to be an altar sacred to some specific god, but just an altar. It's a solid slab of stone, which is what altars are often portrayed like. It's the highest point as far as we can see from it (spiritual places often were). There's the Breeze symbol on it (symbolism). Other thing that really plays for this is John himself. He is a hero. He has it in his name. What are generally heroes valued for? For being brave, and mainly, for sacrificing. I think that john had to sacrifice. Of course, he didn't have time to do it willingly due to screwed up session shenanigans, but Vriska probably knew, and I could hardly imagine that he would really trust her if she told him that he has to die on the altar. Maybe that's why she pretty much gave him out to Jack. Maybe he would originally, without outer influence, have to wait a long time to get the opportunity, and to realize his destiny, possibly really slept on the "bed" for some time at first, but it would possibly ultimately lead to it. It might be something that largely progresses him forward. Maybe even to the topmost power level imaginable, because it's sorta ultimate deed, although he obviously survives it. Also, Narnia everywhere up this bitch.
If a dream self can be controlled by a person after they awaken and when they sleep; if you prototype a kernelsprite with a dead dream self, wouldn't that mean that you get to control your own sprite when you sleep?
Maybe the kernel just wouldn't allow such shenanigans and wouldn't prototype with something that doesn't have a full time consciousness. [editline]16th December 2010[/editline] Various toying with kernels could lead to really crazy situations. What if davesprite went back in time and prototyped the crowsprite with himself? And then again and again and again?
She doesn't have to be such a sadistic bitch about it.
But that's why she's so hilarious and awesome!

The exposition stated that kernelsprites are attracted to dead things, and a dead dream self is still dead. Because John's kernelsprite gave life to the harlequinsprite, a dreamsprite could come back as a clone version of yourself, and when you sleep either your consciousness would dominate the dreamsprite's, or both consciousnesses would switch and you control the sprite while your clone controls you. This is provided that a kernelsprite does in fact return consciousness to a dead dreamself instead of just bringing them back to life. Weird prototyping shit indeed.

my "vriska hate-o-meter" just went from idling near zero to broken [editline]16th December 2010[/editline] Again [editline]16th December 2010[/editline] bah, I know John's alive in some way or another anyway so I guess I'm not too mad about it
