[t]http://puu.sh/eWJuD/8962a67b07.jpg[/t] Mmmmm
My knowledge of stolen hanzi's that they call kanji sometimes fucks up my sentences when I '说汉语' but then I suddenly 'oboeteru chigau kotoba' and say something like 'wo juede kono kisaten bu tai hao'. And people like "??? 你说什么?" And I'm all like "О чёрт, sumimasen, I am not speaking 汉语 very good".
I find it hilarious how out of all of the posters in this thread, only one is actually Japanese. fucking weaboos
I find it hilarious how out of all of the posters in this thread, only one is actually Japanese. fucking weaboos
Yeah, 'cause everyone who learns to read and speak Japanese is a fucking weaboo. What the fuck are you doing here?
Yeah, 'cause everyone who learns to read and speak Japanese is a fucking weaboo. What the fuck are you doing here?
Yeah, you are kind of a fucking weaboo. You don't see 90% of the posters in the Russian or Finnish thread being from somewhere else (User was banned for this post ("flaming / offtopic" - Orkel))
learning japanese makes you a weeb you heard it here first guys
Let's just report and move on.
learning japanese makes you a weeb you heard it here first guys
No, but WHY do so many foreigners suddenly want to learn Japanese? You don't see shit tons of non-Norwegian people trying to learn Norwegian or Swedish or Finnish or any other language.
No, but WHY do so many foreigners suddenly want to learn Japanese? You don't see shit tons of non-Norwegian people trying to learn Norwegian or Swedish or Finnish or any other language.
We don't want to learn Norwegian or Swedish because of people like you lol [editline]24th January 2015[/editline] Also, how long did it take you guys to memorize Hiragana/Katakana? I just started memorizing Hiragana, it's not too bad. Took me about 2 days to memorize it fully, will start Katakana soon. Only problem I have are different typesets, I'm getting used to it slowly but some Hiragana typesets fuck me up good.

That, Japan and English are the languages of the big players in the global market. Scandinavia isn't poor either, but smalltime in comparison. Bit of good ol logic mane.

A bit longer to be able to write them out from memory. I used a trainer program on the internet. It displays a random symbol, and you choose the correct answer. Just learning through repetition.

I'm not dedicating hours at a time to it, just cramming some time in on memrise when I can, though.
Am I the only person who thinks hiragana is easier to remember and to write than katakana?
Am I the only person who thinks hiragana is easier to remember and to write than katakana?
I think it's because it's used more often. Katakana is only used for words taken from other languages, and to emphasise certain words.
Am I the only person who thinks hiragana is easier to remember and to write than katakana?
I think katakana is easier but that's probably because I actually know how to use it better because foreign words are written in it. I don't know much Japanese (just *kana) but I can mostly work my way around Android when set to Japanese because most of it's just katakana anyway. [editline]26th January 2015[/editline] I should probably start actually learning Japanese instead of just the character sets..
Damn, I haven't handwritten kanji in so long I drew a blank for a second when trying to write my own name. Talk about going full retard, thanks microsoft ime
Damn, I haven't handwritten kanji in so long I drew a blank for a second when trying to write my own name. Probably gonna get dragged down south to Nagasaki for the lantern festival on the last day. Might make another one of these while I drive down there. Any FPers in Nagasaki Prefecture? Or even Kyushu?
What's you guys' opinion on learning kanji readings? I've got a friend who insists that they're not tantamount, and while he's got more experience with Japanese than I do, he's kind of a massive flaming retard about most things.

Each kanji can have multiple readings.
depending on what ime you use you might have to type nn for ん [editline]13th January 2015[/editline]
Is this a joke post or a serious post? Since I want to learn Japanese my self and there are no tutors around my town.
100% serious [editline]4th February 2015[/editline] like, namasensei may be a drunken bastard who swears more than he speaks japanese, but he's a really good motivator and his lessons are pretty good for what they are [editline]4th February 2015[/editline] 50 TIMES IN YOUR MOTHERFUCKING NOTEBOOK

I got some questions.
I find it easier to just learn words, rather than individual readings. Each kanji can have multiple readings.
Which is exactly why you should learn them. Most Kanji only have 2 readings, and it's generally worth it to learn them. I wouldn't bother agonizing over memorizing all the readings for 生 for example, but for everything else it's best not to half-ass it and take the time to learn them all. It will pay off.
I have a quick question, a Kanji reading is also how you say it right? For example, 日 is Hi but if I have to read it out loud, would I also say Hi or is it some other Japanese word? Basically I'm kinda confused if a Kanji reading and how you say it in Japanese is one in the same or not (Not counting the different readings obviously like youbi, hiruma, etc)
