Wonder how much energy it takes to cremate someone... not very eco friendly!
I want my burial to be a Viking funeral with the body laid out on the deck of a ship, floating into the sunset while warriors fire flaming arrows to ignite the boat.
Human smoke, don't breathe this!

i'm gonna have that put on my tombstone
Cryonics - See you all in 2200, or not.
Watching the video and seeing a skull being smashed made me think.
That skull could have been around... Idunno, 80-90 years old (estimation), and survived whatever the guy put it through for said years; it even stayed in it's form in extreme heat, but then just was utterly flattened by whatever that guy was holding in an instant. It's kind of sad.
Those glowing skulls look really cool.
Why the boxes though..?
I have a shallow grave set out for me in an overgrown ditch on the edge of Surrey.

Probably because your body will not get into ashes without the box. the box is from paper so it will burn really good.
Now there's a new method that essentially breaks down your body to a bare nutrient only liquid which is used to grow gardens.
It's kind of scary to think about.
Thats actually pretty neat. I'll have one of those.
From earth to earth.
I want someone to just dump my body into the middle of the woods. Police find me then discover that it was my wish and they dont know what to do.
Interesting to see what happens between the point of saying goodbye for the last time and receiving the ashes.
This definitely didn't need the nsfw tag.

Pretty sure the bodies have enough energy in them to burn once dry.
when I die I want to be nailed up in a kitchen sofa and given to some flee market. The reactions from the new sofaowners when they break it up will be the nectar of my undead soul
Holy fuck, that is metal as hell.
Totally getting cremated now, only I want someone to take a picture of my glowing skull to remember me by.
Most burrial customs seem like pointless crap to me. The only reason we make such a fuzz about what happens to our dead body is because we don't want to face the fact that we cease to exist. By coosing some random burrial rite in life, you'd like to think that things keep going after death, something keeps happening.
But what do I care? For you, the person dying everything ends with death, the people who care, who knew you in life, the future, the past, all things will collapse into nothingness alongside yourself, essentially the world will end. My body will become another inanimate object, carrying only symbolic value at best, so what the hell, I might aswell make some use of it. Donate that useless heap of organs to science. Or a necro-rapist. Or cannibals, maybe Gunther von Hagens whatever does some good.
If possible, I'd like my body processed into food. If we did it on a large scale, it might make a change. dunno if old age and years of drug abuse and pollution leave anything edible, though.
Why does this unnerving thread keep coming into my read threads?
I've already unmarked it several times.
On topic, I'm not getting cremated and I personally think it takes a special kind of person to do these types of jobs.
I hear the local crematorium gives discounts on burn victims.
I find this more interesting than disturbing. I have a weird sense of interest for death and the macabre.
you can always get buried if that makes you feel better
Id like to be ejected into a decaying orbit, so my body burns into the atmosphere, releasing my atoms all over you guys
I rather have my remains shot into the depths of space.
Yes it's an expensive burial.
But to become part of the stars...is a beautiful thought. don't you think?.
that seems like an interesting job
I think I prefer the version from Soylent Green.
Whenever I die, I'd like my body to be thrown in the trash.
Buncha selfish people on FP. Louis CK has the best idea for what to do with your body. Donate it to perverts so they fuck your corpse and not some random person they encounter. You do the community a service and you make someone happy.
What amazes me about all of this is how much efforts is made AFTER people's death.
Just this cremation and the people working there, the paychecks, electrical bill, sorting the ashes and making it fine; that's a lot of efforts done for someone who's as good as dead.

Return your organic matter to the Earth so life can arise from your death.

You sure love making people feel selfish for wanting to be buried or cremated don't cha?
Huh. I work as a caregiver in a nursing home. Kind of interesting to see what happens after I wash and say goodbye to my residents the last time, and what will some day probably happen to me.
