H2G2 är bra. [editline]3rd August 2011[/editline] God morgon.
Aldrig sett. På tal om BBC, nån som vet någon bra dokumentär förutom Planet Earth? Den måste vara filmad i HD!
Jag menar böckerna. Till och med Eoin Colfers bok är bra.

Hey, I'm from England but I want to move to Sweden in the future, how long do you think it will take me to learn the language if I live there?
Hey, I'm from England but I want to move to Sweden in the future, how long do you think it will take me to learn the language if I live there?
Depends on how well you adopt different languages and how much of our language you'll be exposed to.
Depends on how well you adopt different languages and how much of our language you'll be exposed to.
Would it be possible as a none Swedish speaker to get a job anywhere? I want to be able to financially support myself when living there. Also, I can pick up languages pretty well.
from experience when talking to a aussie who lives here itll probably take up to 5-6 months to get a lot of the basic stuff going it will take much longer to actually speak swedish fluently, but i guess effort put into it and, as foreman42 said, how much youre being exposed to the language but dont wory about it, everyone knows english well here
Thanks :)
Would it be possible as a none Swedish speaker to get a job anywhere? I want to be able to financially support myself when living there. Also, I can pick up languages pretty well.
well yea, of course depends really what kinda job you want and what kind of education you got [editline]3rd August 2011[/editline] no problem jasun
Depends on how well you adopt different languages and how much of our language you'll be exposed to.
But you can also get around using ony English. Will not be as easy as using Swedish, but it will be enough for you to get by.
well yea, of course depends really what kinda job you want and what kind of education you got [editline]3rd August 2011[/editline] no problem jasun
I'll have a college education (16-18 yrs) and I was going to go to university, but the raised prices will leave me in way too much debt to be starting life with.
pdkm931, lira starcraft ikväll? du får lära mig lite har spelat innan ju men allt har liksom försvunnit bort från mig
As Tippz said, almost everyone below the age of 30 knows english enough to live in England, and most above has no problem understanding english as long as you speak clearly. A little story: A guy decided to move from England to the town I live in and start a genuine brittish pub. He was successful and I visit the pub myself at a certain frequency. [editline]3rd August 2011[/editline] Holy ninjas!
But you can also get around using ony English. Will not be as easy as using Swedish, but it will be enough for you to get by.
I wouldn't like to appear ignorant though, and appear that I'd not taken the effort to try and learn the language.

Alright thanks for all the help guys, you've been great. And sorry for de-railing the thread haha
I wouldn't like to appear ignorant though, and appear that I'd not taken the effort to try and learn the language.
It's no problem. Take your time to learn Swedish of you want to. And mixing Swedish and English in sentences is ok in Sweden, no one will judge you. [editline]3rd August 2011[/editline]
Alright thanks for all the help guys, you've been great. And sorry for de-railing the thread haha
No problem. We're here to help anyone that want to learn more about Swedish and/or Sweden.
I'll have a college education (16-18 yrs) and I was going to go to university, but the raised prices will leave me in way too much debt to be starting life with.
yea, you can get a job with that kind of education, most people do herebut it will probably be easier if you could speak swedishid suggest you start learning it now (if youre moving to sweden in the next year), that way it will be easier for you to get jobsswedes love brits anyways so you might pass on that lol [editline]3rd August 2011[/editline] my phone is fucking it upppppppp
British accent is better than the American accent anyway. Since it sounds much more formal.
