i just say "lol" when i have nothing else to say.
I do say it in public.
Nobody understands what it means because nobody knows how to internet.

There's this one shithead I know of that thinks he's the king of 4chan or something. Every sentence of his has to include a misused meme. His favourite hobby is accusing everyone of being total newfags. One day I'm just going to fucking explode and kill him and everyone around myself.

I think lawl isnt as bad as saying it out letter by letter..
I have no problem with it, but the expression makes little practical sense. It's pretty much a "I want to say something but have nothing to say" type of thing.
My sister heard some girl in an elementary school say "el oh el" then some boy started saying it. The girl said "only popular kids can say "el oh el" in a mean tone. Godjesus kids are retarded.

I used to know someone exactly like that! You don't live in Minnesota do you?
Back in 5th grade there was this one kid who said "LOL" all the time. Eventually me and my friends started making fun of him... So he told his mom, who called our moms. Of course, I just told my mom we were "kidding around".
Now that kid sits around me all the time while I'm trying to talk to other people. He just talks to me about his Alien Vs. Predator drawings and a bunch of crappy games he plays.
Yeeeeah...
He also stayed at my house once while his parents were going somewhere. He left a friggin diaper in my bathroom. I told my friend about it, and it turns out he left a diaper in his bathroom too. wtf?
