This might interest some people. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrJT1d1BKhw&feature=player_embedded It's a live stream of some experts/astronomers/related people discussing Curiosity.
Got a full night's supply of bourbon and popcorn, I'm fuckin ready!
No one in my family cares. No one. They didn't even know about it, and when I told them they just didn't care. Makes me sad :( I mean, the Apathy is stunning. My grandfather would have loved it, stuff like this makes me only miss him 10x more.
Is it bad I have a heightened sense of empathy for what the guys at JPL are feeling right now due to the many hours I have clocked on Kerbal Space Program?
It's not in the orbit of Demos, one of Mars's moons. Were getting really close
Oh god its all automatic now.
My god who is handling the audio, it keeps going up and down
My god who is handling the audio, it keeps going up and down
a kid without headphones that doesn't want his parents to hear he's still up
They're showing the landing on the live Nasa TV online right?
That's a big ass wheel
1 hour to go! ive been drinking several energy drinks since midnight and havent slept almost for a day im ready for this shit
I barely understand all the lingo. Still excited, enjoying the stream and the simulation thing
Sitting on the bus following the live stream on my way to work. Good thing my boss lets me follow it during work hours.
Holy shit. I am psyched.
The video stream got me excited but the simulation got me ecstatic. This is amazing!
Holy shit I slept until now. Feels like there's some massive butterflies in my stomach now.
Holy shit I slept until now. Feels like there's some massive butterflies in my stomach now.
Not butterflies, fucking dragons!

Whoops wrong thread last time. The lady on this stream is horrid at interviews.
Peanut luck
PEANUTS!
I thought she said "Dare mighty things by munching penis" Because I was halfway listening. I need sleep.
Now I want peanuts.
10 minutes to cruise stage separation!

By now, even if we sent a signal to Curiosity, it wouldn't get it before touchdown. The guys in the control room now have identical control over Curiosity before landing, as all of us. We're all in for the ride.
What will happen to the size comparison objects during entry? I'm curious.
How do they already know what the landing sight looks like on the simulation? I can imagine all sorts of ways but I genuinely don't know.
Goddamn im excited
Odyssey team say's they'll be in position for the duration of EDL.
