not really, I want to become a journalist, that's pretty much a direct route to journalism. The actual journalism course itself is frowned upon as opposed to creative writing
Journalism is a tough career to get into. Its heavy in politics.
anyone who works in retail or fast food has made bad life choices
And someone who has over 2,500 posts on a forum has clearly made more of their life? They're still preparing your food and providing you with goods, though I suppose they're mere scum living in squalor in contrast to your magnificent, fulfilling life.
i dont say thank you for the same reason i dont tip, i'm paying for a service i don't need to act like they're doing me some favour they wouldnt care if i ordered pizza/got on their bus or not so why should i care that they completed the job they're paid to do
Well that's bad life choices. Saying thanks and using MANNERS gets you further than most people.
I thought this was obvious... :sigh:

True.
why say thanks i say good morning n see you tomarrow a thanks is lifeless and meaning less while when you say good morning and c u you're talking to them as a person
I always say thanks. Sometimes I'll even make an effort to go from the back to the front just to do it. It makes me feel good and I know the bus driver appreciates it. I tell ya, in Canada the bus drivers have it rough dealing with all the stupid people and arrogant teenagers on a day-to-day basis.
anyone who works in retail or fast food has made bad life choices
students trying to pay for tuition
Why? It's their job.
Yes it's their job to drive the bus not to deal with assholes all day. Isn't it also a privilege to ride the bus
I always say, "Thanks for the ride, have a nice day." or something similar. To the people saying "It's they're job.": If you choose to work somewhere and are treated like shit and you bitch about not being appreciated, remember, "It's your job."

I'm never getting on a bus again.
In the UK the exit isn't near the driver so.
I always say "cheers" and I even accommodate their penis in my rectum for the situations where I forget my money and have to acquire a ticket by employing less conventional methods.
I say thank you for virtually anything, because I know how good it feels when someone expresses appreciation towards me, so why not spread it around?
I don't tip. Because I live in Finland. We don't tip. No seriously, if you just do your work, you get paid, if you do your work well, you get paid and I'll thank you.
If you couldn't find meaningful employment as a student then you made bad life choices
