what the hell is a food runner
People who run food? Servers are the people who take orders and bring out booze and stuff, and food runners are the people that have the meals stacked on their arms and give them to the customers.

Only 2 of my 9 bus drivers weren't total assholes. So, no. Also, I don't take the bus. A two hour drive from the school to my house which is only a mile away? Fuck that shit. Takes that long to get from here to Las Vegas for hell sake.
I say thank you every time I ride the bus. The bus drivers who work on my University's campus are really cool and really REALLY nice. So I always smile and say thank you.
You don't say thank you to people who serve you your coffee? Or sell you a game or a new computer?
Probably not, he's also probably the same person who goes home and contemplates writing a facepunch cry fest over how everyone's a bunch of dicks these days...
I say please and thankyou to everyone, because I'm not an asshole. I dunno.
I only say it when I'm in a good mood or when the bus driver is nice to me. I just don't believe in repeating the same word every time I take the bus since the word usually loses its effect.
busboys basically
Wage slaves. That sounds right. :smug:
These guys spent half their day driving you around for 2.25$ (in america, not sure about Europe) so the least you could do is thank him when you get..
He had my money, it's either a very polite and priceless "Thank You", or my Quid. He is probably paid an hourly rate wage from the Government if he is a public bus driver, so he gets enough money. I normally say thanks to anyone, Probably cuz I'm British, I even nearly say thanks, when I am passing something to someone. DAD - "Can you pass the remote?" ME - "Here th..." *about to say thanks, fighting temptation*
I ride a 1 hour bus everyday, I greet the bus drivers when I get on the bus. They greet me back, that's common sense, seeming that he's escorting me to my destination. Very rarely (if I sit in the front and the bus driver seems to be in a jolly mood) I can start a conversation with him/her. Without disturbing their driving. You don't have to thank you bus drivers.. it's their job.
true.
did you not see the troll?
We take a cheese bus and me and some kids always shoot the shit with the driver.
There's a difference between a job and career. I highly doubt that anyone would want their career to be bus driver for 50 years. You say thanks to marines because they keep you safe and protect you from invasion/ national threats. Bus drivers drive you from point a to point b for almost 3 bucks. Which is actually expensive. [editline]08:54PM[/editline] :irony: Once again, they actually make a difference, bus drivers just provide a luxury. Also: Holy shit, over 2k posts in just 3 months, do you even know what the outside world is?
Nope, not at all.
I always thank Bus Drivers because thanks to them, I have gotten to school on-time, never missed work, and more. Only 13 more days until I can drive my car around though. :P
I've had some pretty chill bus drivers, one being some really big black guy. From experience at a summer job in Taco Bell, I take it personal when a person doesn't thank me for giving them their food and they continue on to feast like pigs. Gross.
I did when I took a half hour bus ride home from classes last year.
bus drivers are assholes
My bus driver used to be a nice old lady who drove like a badass. I used to thank her almost every day. Then, she got fired for being an old lady who drives like a badass :( now I drive, and I thank my car. :3
my bus driver is a cunt, no. we're late every day and she scratched up the back of my new ipod when she took it (which we're allowed to use, but mine "had da wifi" so she took it, and when I got it back it was all scratched)
I've only seen like 3 people do this on a 3 hour bus ride, so thank your bus driver if you take the bus. These guys spent half their day driving you around for 2.25$ (in america, not sure about Europe) so the least you could do is thank him when you get out. He/she even has to handle road rage, smells, and a shit ton other stuff. Just say THANK YOU, it's not that hard. Look, I'll help you out. Here's how to say it, SAY IT WITH ME NOW : THANK YOU (THANGK YOO) Still not sure how to say it? I've got you covered with AUDIO HELP! It doesn't even have to be straight to his face, just say it as you leave. Not only does it make the bus driver feel good but it makes you look like less of an ass. The MTA is pretty fucky as it is and they're like Hitler when it comes to schedules and shit. So don't be an ass :h:
Why should I care? They chose that job, and I am paying them (If I actually decided to use gross public transport). I could be a cold motherfucker to them and not feel bad about it. Duuuuur I am a loser bus driver that didn't make it in life. Durrrrr
Do you make fun of the homeless too?
Yeah. Durrrr I am a jedi and can't make a living and I drive a grocery cart
I thank the bus drivers who aren't dicks, which is a rarity on the TTC. I hate the transit system in Toronto, pile of dysfunctional crap.
sometimes i say thank you, especially when they actually notice me running to catch the bus.

Everyone thanks their bus drivers here in Canada. We're nice.
These guys spent half their day driving you around for 2.25$
That money goes to the Metropolitan transit union, the bus drivers are paid a wage. I say "Thank you sir/ma'am have a nice day" every time I get off a bus, but I have to disagree with you. It shouldn't be required or even encouraged, becuase a thank you from that point of mind is a false thank you. If they had a sign on the bus that said "Thank your driver as you leave" you'd think "Wow how fucking arrogant, a thank you should be for exceptional service not required." Some people are assholes, stop letting it bother you, try to be a good person yourself and you'll live a good life, keep worrying about other people and you'll end up hating most everyone.
Bus drivers ftw
I never talk with busdrivers since i always wear my headphones im scared of accidentally yelling at them :ohdear:
I always say good morning or good afternoon and I say thank you when I leave. My parents raised me to be polite which is funny because I'm not polite to relatives
