Hey man, Yamcha used to be useful...
he used to be cool...
he used to be my favorite... :(
Krillin could be amazing if they'd power him up. Shit, his Destructo Disk has scared the shit out of many an enemy far more powerful than him, he coulda killed Nappa outright if Vegeta had kept his mouth shut.
Fuck, if Krillin had a head on his shoulders, HE'D be the one to kill Frieza instead of Goku. Lord knows he had a good opportunity to do so on Namek.
Yeah, I'm going to blind you with solar flare and then NOT slice you in half with my insta kill move. I remember being SOOOO pissed off when he just ran away. Don't tell me that Krillin isn't strong enough, because Frieza is later done in by the same sort of technique. Granted it was his own, but I still think Krillin had a golden opportunity to become the biggest badass in the universe and he failed to take it. Imagine Vegeta's humiliation when its not the "legendary super saiyan" who does Frieza in, but a bald buddhist from Earth.

I don't know anything in the DB universe where it went like this,
"you can't beat me I have a higher power level then you"
"so what, I'm clever"

I think the closest we got to that was Yaijirobe cutting off Vegeta's tail.
The official explanation is that Freiza is just naturally very strong, and never had to train. [sp]After being revived, he trains for the first time in his life for four months, making him stronger.[/sp]
Freiza is part of a naturally powerful race (that is, or was, generally considered "perfect"), and his heritage is an unnaturally ultra powerful mutation of that race; his family is one-of-a-kind. Freiza is then a prodigy on top of being an uber mutation, with his natural power continuing to grow to what it reached in the Android saga without the need for training.
That is the established lore and makes more than enough sense in DBZ for his training being so effective.
I know this is considered heresy, but are they gona do English Dubs?
English dub is the only way to watch DBZ, the people who say to watch the jap dubs are massive weebs who hate fun

Yeah it would save a lot of time, but we wouldn't have had the epic 4 hour duel between Goku and Frieza.

But I like the japanese voice acting :(
Shit, unborn Pan was more useful to them than any of the minor Z Fighters were.
Tien during Buu saga hadn't given up professional fighting, and his only appearance was surviving Super Buu's ki blast from atop Kami Tower and saving Gohan and Dende from Super Buu. Only to be promptly shoved aside.
It was kind of sad.
Yes, we'll likely get it in late 2015 or early 2016. Battle of Gods got English dub. It's great, too. Go watcj it.
BINGO!

And the TeamFourStar version (I believe came out before the English Dub)

Even if the filler content isn't very good or even canon it still gives you a tiny bit of that C-Tier Z Fighter action you want, like Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu defeating the Ginyu Force on King Kai's planet. (Including Yamcha beating the shit out of Recoome, who is explicity stated at one point to be stronger than Vegeta during the Namek saga. Fuck.)

TONS of examples of that in Dragonball, back when it wasn't just a standard formula fight anime.
The original Dragonball was pretty light hearted, DBZ was a bit more serious.

Yeah, they're really inconsistent with power levels. There's always a trump card to make them stronger, like the Namekian fusions and the Saiyan Zenkais. Then you've got the sheer and massive inconsistincies in what their power levels do, like Vegeta powering up was enough to cause some serious problems around Earth and Nappa was enough to destroy two cities like it was nothing.
Meanwhile later in the series Goku powering up to SSJ3 was scaring the shit out of people in other world but had no effect on the Earth and people destroying cities was a terrifying thing.

idk about later times, but the first time he powered up to SSJ3 at least it had massive effects on Earth.

I like that it's stated that 300 kili is enough to destroy a planet, and they show off a stupid monster who power level is 800 kili, meaning it could destroy Earth twice over somehow. It's just a medium sized lizard monster, not the culmination of decades of martial arts training and legendary transformations.
idk about later times, but the first time he powered up to SSJ3 at least it had massive effects on Earth.
I remember it moving clouds and stuff but not like, causing storms and tornadoes and quakes like Vegeta did. It's been a while and i've not reached there yet in my series re-watch.

To be kinda fair, they do make it a point throughout the series to NOT let any kind of energy beam collide with earth, because it would be more than enough to destroy it.

That's another thing, and sorry for posting so much, but Vegeta could destroy planets like it wasn't shit at the very beginning of the series but when anyone else destroys a planet it's like this massively terrifying thing.

Well no matter how you put it you're still destroying a planet and its inhabitants. I do get where you're coming from though, if a 18k power level Vegeta could destroy a planet with a blast, Kid Buu should be able to destroy entire fucking solar systems with a fart. Alas all we can do is look past these inconsistencies a love the anime for what is it.
It'd be like expecting Yamcha to be useful
This is something that annoys the shit out of me. Yamcha, a reformed criminal who becomes one of the strongest people in human history and the best baseball player to ever live, is considered shit-tier because of the unbelievable power gap.
Is Android 18 still as powerful as she was? Because if so she can do some serious damage considering she can basically go toe to toe with/outright kill anything weaker than a SSJ3. Also I feel like they could have Piccolo or Dende do an even better unlock potential thing as a way to power up the rest of the Z fighters.
A Shiny Frieza!
A Shiny Frieza!
Did you hear that Vegeta? It's called a Frieza. I'm gonna capture it!

I don't think she's as durable but she should still be perfectly strong.
Yeah it would save a lot of time, but we wouldn't have had the epic 4 hour duel between Goku and Frieza.
And they expected us to believe that the brawl between Frieza and Super Saiyan Goku only lasted 5 minutes. MY ASS! I loved how TFS poked fun at that during the season 2 finale.
I think Goku still would have gone super saiyan, even if Krillin had destroyed Frieza. Remember how amped up Goku was to fight Frieza? Imagine the disappointment he would have had to deal with. If Vegeta can get into a hissy fit and discover the key to a super saiyan transformation, then I'll argue that Goku can do it over severe disappointment in not fighting the toughest guy in the universe.
But yes, that 4 hour duel was fucking epic and I will not deny that.
Frieza and Cell had the two best final battles out of any Saga.
Cell had the most bullshit comeback though.
"LOL a single cell survived and now with my saiyan zenkai boost I'm better then ever bitches!"
Cell had the most bullshit comeback though.

Fat lot of good that did him though. Cause Gohan still pulverized him.
Also, it is total horse shit that Vegeta didn't kill Cell. Specially after Vegeta went apeshit.

I still don't know how he managed to regenerate from a mere cell, Piccolo can't even do that. Did Dr Gero managed to do some freaky mutation of the Namekian cells?
