For a secular democratic republic the US sure seems destined to become a theocracy if McCain gets in.
It could've been worse. I almost shat myself when I heard about Huckabee. You want to do WHAT to the Constitution!?!
Yes people work in socialism but there's a lot less incentive to get rich if the government takes half your money you make. Low incentive to get rich means bad economy.
No, sorry, if you look at real life examples they show just the opposite of what you're saying.
It could've been worse. I almost shat myself when I heard about Huckabee. You want to do WHAT to the Constitution!?!
When i heard this i bitched to my dad and he flatout told me that he didn't care aslong as he belived in christ.
It could've been worse. I almost shat myself when I heard about Huckabee. You want to do WHAT to the Constitution!?!
What did he want? I don't think i heard about it. And Palin is a prime example of why you shouldn't elect a religious person. She will undoubtfully take religion into her decicision, and try to impose her believes on other people. Athiests, we take logic and reason over fariytales and what some god said 2000 years ago, anytime.
McCain is a liar, and is somewhat bad president material, but my biggest would-be-fear about voting for him would be that he is 70 something, so if he kicks the bucket, Palin becomes president. And then... Welcome to the new dark ages.
Because... 1. They're the most effected by advertising. 2. They're the least informed about politics. 3. They regurgitate whatever there parents say.
But over half of polled parents support Obama...
Athiests, we take logic and reason over fariytales and what some god said 2000 years ago, anytime.
And you piss off over 50% of the country by being intolerant, which is why if a president ever ran as an atheist they'd be laughed out of the running.
And you piss off

over 50% of the country

by being intolerant,

which is why if a president ever ran as an atheist they'd be laughed out of the running.
Excuse moi?
You can't run for president in the United States without believing Christ is god's son and your lord and savior and saying it publicly every day. Too many stupid people. Europe is probably better off because their stupid people have less biased media to regurgitate from.
And you piss off over 50% of the country by being intolerant, which is why if a president ever ran as an atheist they'd be laughed out of the running.
I'm sorry, I was born in a catholic family and now I'm an atheist and that doesn't mean I'm being intolerant to others belief. I don't think mixing church and state is a good idea, they have different purposes each of them. The former is to give "faith" to the people and the latter is to make all the society works without conflicts. If you mix them, you're just asking for trouble. You know why? Because not all Americans are Christians, there are also Hebrews, Hindus, Muslims, etc. There's a conflict of interests there, if the president only worked for the will of Christian's interpretation of God, then the rest would be pissed as hell. He don't have to bias his entire administration toward one religion. That's not freedom, that is fascism. Atheism is not a faith, quite the contrary... It's the rejection of belief on God, also anti theism. We don't believe in God because we haven't seen any scientific proof that can support his existence. And don't compare atheism with scumbags like Stalin that killed millions of people "in the name of atheism". He killed in the name of "Soviet Russia" (which means, basically, for himself. He was as much as selfish as some neo con.). Also to stop further comparisons: Hitler was catholic, in fact, he considered Nazism as a religion and brainwashed all his followers to be into it. He didn't use atheism to promote his agenda. America will never see an atheist president on its lifetime. The country is too biased toward religion.

So does rest of the Fox News channel. As of yet, athiests have killed no one due to their religion, while i can't say the same for the other side. And yes, i might be intolerant, but that is only to the extremist side of religion. They deny everything, say that god put dinosaurs on earth, just so humans could write them. Saying that people who don't believe in their god (christian god) would burn in hell, while not taking into account that allah is just as real as the christian god is. I like the people who give to charity, i do myself, and then i don't care very much about religion. However if you are in an office of power, and you say you believe so much in god that it must be written into the constitution, then you have a serious problem, and should be kicked out.
And you piss off over 50% of the country by being intolerant, which is why if a president ever ran as an atheist they'd be laughed out of the running.
What if you ran as a Buddhist? You're equating correlation with causation. Edit:
As of yet, athiests have killed no one due to their religion, while i can't say the same for the other side.
If Obama wins he'll raise all the taxes of the super rich people, sadly if you understand that the super rich are the biggest consumers, if the spend more money on taxes then less money will go into the economy, and we'll get further into debt, for when the poor may have less taxes but they'll still struggle with the taxes therefore not putting no money at tall into the economy which once again chokes the economy. If you want to really end the economy fail, then you would vote for McCain. Since he equally does tax cuts for all citizens so they all would have extra money to buy that new 15in flat screen which puts money back into the economy, and so in a few years the economy will balance.
Do you get how taxes work? The only thing that's taxed is profit, not income. So they get taxed on the money that goes in the bank or that shareholders buy up. It's not going to hurt the economy at all. What it WILL do is help pay off our debts while allowing for larger tax cuts for the middle class.
i think that sums up this thread pretty nicely
I'm pretty certain McCain is going to win now, I have no hopes at all. But you know what? Fuck it. If more than half of America is retarded and really wants this, then let them be. I think the only way America can learn from this is by suffering more. The bad thing is that worldwide we also are going down with them.. We already are. I'm pretty sure in 1 year of 2 a lot of the so called Republican trolls kids here are going to cry "Fuck McCain! Palin is a moron", just like they were talking about Bush and Cheney... This is the future, America: "I don't have money to afford even a Wii. Now I need to get food stamps to be able to eat. But who cares, right? If the economy is bad it's because of God's willing! But also I think (no, I don't think, that's what mommy and daddy told me that they heard from :foxnews:) it's all the Democrats fault! GOD DAMN YOU COMMUNISM AND YOUR REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH!!! Wait, what? The Democrats didn't won? Then who's in charge of the economy? The Republicans??? What the hell? Nah, you've to be joking me... I'm pretty sure that the economy is shit now because of some dirty trick from the Democrats, they almost tried to stole us the elections for like 12 years! They never surrender! They are Liberals, afterall! Everybody knows that liberal means communism/satanism! (that's what my daddy told me). They governed during the 90s and that was the worst economic recession USA has ever suffered! Yes, it's true!! It was very shitty. The taxes made by Bill Clinton on profits for the excessively rich folks was a disaster! Thank God Bush was there to stop Clinton's pal Al Gore to win, I heard he hates America because he's against oil companies, which fuels my car with good cheap gas, so he's anti American! Bush legacy will lives on forever and ever on our beautiful intellectual president Palin. She's fucking hot! And smart because she wears glasses! That means she reads a LOT the bible, and that is good! I don't care if she doesn't have a clue about politics, she's a real person! She's not a Muslim (which means terrorism to me). She's not a religious zealot! By the way guys, women should not have a choice, if they get raped they should keep the bastard! Even if they're 16 years old without money nor education! That will teach them to not get raped! HA! Fucking whores... Sex education is stupid, in fact, education as a whole is dumb, it's just liberal propaganda. I don't need no History class! It's too biased! The only historical non fiction book I'm gonna read for the rest of my life is the All Mighty bible. Even if I fail at school, no problem! No child left behind is awesome! That will help me a lot to be a real citizen with knowledge on real issues and certainly I'll get a lot of good jobs! Thanks Republicans, I'll always trust you, as much as the Germans with the Nazis when they were under the Nazi regime."
Planned assault on Obama prevented, now THAT'S good publicity!
I can't understand Palin's continual use of "Socialism" as a bad things in these rallies. I mean, if they do get elected, she will have to meet with European leaders, many of whom have those sorts of parties- social democrats, democratic socialists, and labor parties- in their parliament, cabinet, and even their heads of state. That and Congress is democratic majority now, so Palin can't write all those people off as either terrorists or socialists, ergo not meant to be worked with. I would like to see how she would have been in this position meeting with a man like Francois Mitterrand... Palin seems more like a ploy to rally the base, but as far as her credentials go it's not too impressive, especially after all the grandstanding the Republicans did against Obama about his own experience. And now McCain has embraced Robo-calls to associate Obama with Ayers. Sad part is that McCain himself decried these things, calling them "hate calls" when the Bush campaign used it against him in 2000's primaries, saying his adopted child was in fact an illegitimate child from an interracial affair and about his wife's drug addiction. Same thing happened in South Carolina this January during primaries, with accusations that he was a closet liberal and wanted to offer unborn babies up for research. As we saw, he lost in 2000 and barely won South Carolina- so while those voters say they aren't influenced by it and the liberal media should fuck off, clearly it does impact some of them. Also- This behavior has increased since Palin was going around with her out of control rallies. We even saw McCain try to get that under control once when that lady called him an Arab, and while McCain tried to drive back to the crowd that Obama is a good family man, they started booing... big surprise.
There is bigotry when ignorance and fear dominates people's mind. That video is the greatest example ever. Hey Republicans, if you hate so much socialism, then WHY DID MCCAIN VOTED FOR THE 700 BILLION BAILOUT? Wasn't the intention of the bailout a little... Socialist? I mean, nationalizing private banks? Who are you kidding?
Hey Republicans, if you hate so much socialism, then WHY DID MCCAIN VOTED FOR THE 700 BILLION BAILOUT? Wasn't the intention of the bailout a little... Socialist? Either that or standard political bullshit- say X, do Y. No need to have a fit, he's still the lesser of the two evils.
Socialism is just a big word that McCain uses to create this "fear of communism".

Anyone would have done it , no matter his political alignement. I know this and I'm not even american.
In the spirit of the modern american political manœuvre, it is regarded as a necessary evil due to the percieved doom and gloom that would have come otherwise. Either that or standard political bullshit- say X, do Y. No need to have a fit, he's still the lesser of the two evils.
Wait, so Socialism is a necessary evil? But but... I heard all the time that Socialism is BAD, like, just plain evil! Why didn't they found another solution without recurring to the most feared thing ever? Oh, right, because Socialism made sense to save the market economy... So, suddenly, Socialism doesn't look that evil, it is needed for having an economical recovery... It all makes sense.... By the way, did you knew that the U.S. government doesn't even print their own money? All the pretty dollars bills you have in your wallet were printed by private owned banks, so if some of these big banks that lends money to the state don't play by the rules and cheats on the financial market, then all of the U.S. citizens has to pay for all the banks stupidities, forcing the government to nationalize them so the dollar doesn't collapse! But wait! How did that happened? Why didn't the banks got regularized on time before all hell broke loose? Because Republicans don't believe in such thing, they don't believe in regularization. That's why. You all created this mess by letting it happen. And now, you and your parents are gonna pay for all of this.
