No stop that, I can't be rude and condescending to nice people.
Why not? I'm sure if you tried you can do your best! I believe in you!
You must realize that children are about 1000x more impressionable than you would like to believe. You can get them to believe just about anything without them making any sort of conscious choice about what to believe.
And I don't want my child to make a choice that wasn't his or her own.
Exactly, so instead of being told left and right that religion is horrible, God doesn't exist, and everything else. Why not leave it up to the child?

Children are immature and illogical.

What part of children are impressionable and will believe anything they were told from birth without retort do you not understand?
I am so sick of people saying this nation was founded on the bible.
First off, this nation was founded on Freedom of religion. That's a good bit of the reason a lot of people came over here in the first place.
Second, even if that were true, who the fuck cares? Why should I actually give a fuck if the founding fathers were Christian? It's not like we have to follow their life style.
Exactly, so instead of being told left and right that religion is horrible, God doesn't exist, and everything else. Why not leave it up to the child?
Because children are presented with the issue and all the weight far too early to make a rational decision about it.
McCain reminds me of Dr. Evil.
McCain reminds me of Dr. Evil.
It WAS reported that McCain's economic plan was something along the lines of "Why make trillions when we can make...BILLIONS?,"
I remember a time when this thread was about the Presidential election.
and to be honest, McCain has better views on the war and stuff..
That we should continue it for a 100 more years?
Obama says knock you out
Pro-Life is not anti-woman. For fucks sake, there's plenty of women against murdering unborn children.
And I can guarantee that all those women are either not parents or didn't have the horror of being raped.
I'm a traditionalist. I'm sorry. I've made that decision that God (*gasp*) instituted marriage. What right do we have changing it?
So, some fictional fairy tells you what you think is wrong, so you listen? Well, with that attitude you'll get VERY far in life. I bet you're in some sort of Tolerance campaign in your school or something.
Is he in a wheelchair?
He has cerebral palsy.
Yea, but for all we know God started it all. If evolution is proven then why did one of you guys a few posts up say it was still a theory?
Gentleman, this is when we know a person defending religion has lost. This post is a DAMN good example.
Also, thisispain... Have my babies?
Human morals are bullshit. We're just sat on a planet all alone, trying to figure things out for ourselves, and then we pass on these ideals to our children and shun the "nonbelievers". Government should be completely based on reason without the clouding of the shitty idealism of the masses. Oh and the idea of individual state governments is stupid, one strong central government for all.
Consider this campaigning.

You spelled your name wrong just FYI
Obama has negative smartness I'm not voting for him.
You spelled your name wrong just FYI
We've all been over this before.
I figured the correctly spelled version would've been taken already, so I skipped it.
I was expecting a discussion on the presidential elections, but found you lot arguing about God/Evolution. Perhaps you could get back on track.
Obama has negative smartness I'm not voting for him.
I'll cap you.

The second Presidential debate is on in about 30 minutes.
The third Presidential debate is going to start 109 minutes ago.
See here's where you're not getting me.
My personal political views are that absolutely anything goes except for the basics. I.E. Don't kill each other, don't steal from each other. etcetc.
What ever someone wants to teach in school should be up to the local government. It's a public school, not a government education center.
I'm just trying to get it into your head that constitutional rights come before ANYTHING else. If someone does not fully support those, then they're automatically disqualified for presidency. Not just supporting bits and pieces of them, not just picking and choosing what they agree with, but fully supporting them.
But if you're going to argue the definition of things, now that's where I'm going to disagree with you. Gay rights do not come before basic constitutional rights. What is taught in school should be decided by the local government and public. And if you want to have an abortion, fine, but don't brush it off that it's anything less than murder.
I completely agree with you regarding constitutional rights, but what politian who has a chance of winning the presidency actually gives a crap about the constitution? Ron Paul was the only one, but he was given almost no media coverage and since almost all of a politians popularity depends on the media coverage they get he couldn't have won. I really don't know why presidents can get away with violating the constitution without facing criminal charges.
A veto is basically voting against a law so it won't be passed, and technically the senate can't veto things, only override a veto, but you know what I mean
Like in Halo 3 multiplayer when you don't like the map. You veto
Anyone who is still dumb enough to even consider voting for McCain, read this. It's incredibly insightful and will give you just an idea of how much of a shitty president he'll be if he ever wins.
