My grandfather on my father's side was a sperry ball turret gunner on a B-17 "Flying Fortress" in WWII. He was in the Navy, and stationed in the Pacific. He was shorter and of slighter build than the rest of the crew so they put him in the ball turret, which is on the underside of the plane. He would fire down onto ships or planes that were coming up from below or behind to attack. We still have his flight log book, and you can see all the various missions they performed from 1942-1945. He had several medals, but they got misplaced years and years ago....probably back in the 60's. Unfortunately, I never got to meet him, as he died from diabetes in 1973.
My dad was in the Navy in Vietnam stationed in the Gulf of Tonkin('68-'71). Meanwhile, my uncle was also in Vietnam, but was stationed in the "Iron Triangle" just north of Saigon. He earned two Silver Stars and a Purple Heart for his actions.

Weren't you in the army too?
Well, my dad was in the army (Swedish National Guard, also working for the national intelligence (SÄPO), they are kinda like CIA, only better at their job.).
My grandfather was a captain during the cold war.
My other grandfather joined the navy.
My grand, grand, grand father was a hussar.
My grand, grand, grand, grand, grandfather was one of the first people to ever be part of organized law enforcement (He had a wagon, a horse and some kind of bulgeon for beating up drunken farmers, but still, everyone has to start somewhere).
And my viking ancestors (like, not in general, I mean the bloodline kind) plundered the French.
That's as far as I know, though.
My granduncle was a danish resistance fighter during World War 2. He died by firing squad after being captured sabortaging railtracks from Germany to Denmark.
My grandfather fought in WW2, and my great grandfather in WW1. Don't know shit about what either of them did though.
My father served in the British Army, was sent to Kosovo and Bosnia as part of SFOR. No idea what my granddads did.
I had lots of ancestors in the military. My great grandfather was shot at Vimy Ridge and I had another relative, great uncle I think, that was killed on the Somme. My grandfather was some sort of supervisor in the Air Force but he was only born in 1930 so I don't think he served in any wars. He worked in various bases across Canada and Europe.
The Canadian National Vimy Memorial is very beautiful:

My great grandfather and my great uncle both lost a leg during the Somme. One lost his left, the other his right. For Christmas, someone got them a single pair of slippers between them.
My moms dad, World war 1 or 2. Removing dead bodies.
My grandfather was in the coast guard during WWII
And my grandfather made weapons in the WW2
Sweden hasn't been to war in about 200 years so... I don't know.
Maybe some Great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather fought against the Russians in 1809 or something, I don't know.
I am a decendant of the Vikings though.
My grandfather served in Korea, my father was stationed in France during the Vietnam war, my brother's son is a marine honor guard (ceremony dude for funerals and parades and whatnot), and one of my estranged uncles had a CIA job which I don't know much about.

Oh snap boy.
Swedish family. Neutrality is awesome, especially when we go to afganistan anyway to "Help".
My grandfather was in the RAF in World War II, my other grandfather fought in Vietnam and I am in the Australian Army. The Service skipped a generation.

Is he alive? If he is I very much doubt he was at WWI, as it ended at 1917.
My great uncles all served in WW2, dont know where though~ And my father served in the Cold War (towards the 80's).
Isnt it crazy how our great grandfathers and grandfathers may have been trying to kill eachother back then and now we are all talking about it with eachother?
My gramps died in war, not sure which one, but he was fighting with commies because our country was occupied at that time.

Which country?
If I find that out, I might be able to find out what war.

Latvia
German great grandfather - WW2 (Wehrmacht)
Russian great grandfather - WW2 (Red army)
If they shot each other it'd be a time paradox.

No it wouldn't.
It would just turn out differently.
Learn about paradoxes before you make claims, please.
My Dad. I still have a few pictures!
cousin (current war)
grandfathers (both) (WWII)
great grandfathers (WWI)
one of my grandfathers (korean)
-snip-
My Great Grandfather fought in WW2 in the Pacific where he was captured by the Japanese and then as he was being transported on a ship as a POW the ship was targeted and sunk where only 7 POWs escaped after the Japanese closed down the hatches, they got out and swam 6 miles to shore where they were captured again but released at the end of the war, they were lifelong friends until they day they died.
My Grandfather fought through WWII as a Sherman Driver and through Vietnam
My grandfather fought for Germany when he was 14.

My granny's sisters husband(greatuncle if you will)
was patroling the iron curtain in Berlin.
Lots of sick stories he can provide.
My dad protected some warehouses back when we were occupied by the USSR. The place was like 120km over the sea to Canda and some guy was eaten by a polar bear + AK was frozen so he couldn't do anything if something would have happened
