:colbert: I'm sure your great grandfather appreciates that..
I'm pretty sure he's dead and doesn't give a fuck.
My great granddad was in World War 2, I think he was a B17 pilot. My Great Great granddad was Alvin York. My dad and uncle were in the Gulf War. My dad served in the Kosovo war as a peacekeeper and now he is a Mercenary. A little side note is that my granddad on my dads side assisted in creating the B2 bomber, and the early prop pushed variant.
My great grandfather was a lieutenant in the Winter War (finnish) he was shot in the helmet next to his ear, but he survived it though he couldn't hear with that ear anymore. He survived the war and died of old age when I was 5.
my cousins out shooting rag heads in the deserts of afghanistan my uncle was in the special forces in WW2, not really allowd to say much
my great great grandad was in the first world war, fighting in Belgium. Still have his war diary, his handriting gets worse throughout it. He saw some fucked up shit Two of my great great uncles were in the Navy and got blown up by Nazis, and another was a spy and didn't tell anyone until he almost died, and there was another which came back fucking insane More recently, my uncle was a sailor (lieutenant commander) in the Falklands war, now my cousin (his son, a Royal Marine) is kicking taliban arse. Sniper :smug:
my mom's grandmother's dad died to a grenade in winter war he met simo häyhä
My grandfather who is now 101 years old survived both WW1 and WW2. He got to serve in WW2, he was a tank gunner in a T-34, and even took part in liberation of a certain concentration camp but never wanted to tell me exactly which one. I don't blame him though, was probably hard seeing all the death around him at that time.
No it wouldn't. It would just turn out differently. Learn about paradoxes before you make claims, please.
By shot each other I mean killed each other. And if that happened I'd never be born and I wouldn't be posting this. derrrrp :downs:
2 of my grandparents died in a concentration camp if that's relevant
My grandfather fought in the finnish winter war, he survived and got to create 13 wonderful children. One of those children moved to sweden and banged some random chick that later gave birth to me.
Both of my grandfathers fought in WWII (I'm romanian btw). One fought at Stalingrad and was killed there and the other fought at Odessa but got caught by the russians and was a prisoner for some time. Though he managed to survive in the russian prisons till the war ended :buddy: ,but I still never saw him alive because he got bitten by a rabid fox and was to stubborn to get injected at the hospital, so he died before I was born :saddowns:
Great grandfathers were fighting as communist forces in occupied Croatia during WW2, I have no idea where they served on. My grandfathers and my uncle served as infantry for Yugoslavia, my father was in the artillery corps. When the state fell apart they switched to Croatian army, my uncle fought in South Croatia, defending the sector around Zadar until near end of the war, my 2nd grandfather was in Slavonia at several places but he retired in 1994, and my father was all over the place and he was blowing up serbs until 1995, when Operation Oluja(storm) ended and Serbia lost the war to Bosnia and Croatia.
My grand father on my mothers side was one of the Blitz children, grandmother was on one of the last boats out of China when the Japanese invaded, my great grand father (on my mothers side) fought the Japanese was captured and survived the infamous POW camps. On my fathers side of the family my grand father fought the Japanese on Guam and then was promoted to a gunnery sergeant...At the age of 18. And then finally my Dad worked on a nuclear submarine for a short while during the Cold War.
ok so here we go. Great Grandfather: (not sure which side) Fought on Gallipoli, 1916 Grandfather: Fought on the Kokoda Trail. 1942 Grandfather: Royal Australian Air force, in the bombing of Darwin. 1942 Father: Unranked, Royal Australian Navy Uncle: Major,Australian Army Cousin: Trooper, Australian Army, currently training for the SAS Cousin: XO, Royal Australian Navy, currently in the Tasman sea.
My grandad was in the Army. Before the second world war, he travelled through China, India and other Asian countries. He even had a tattoos done in China that covered a large amount of his torso, but some weren't finished when war broke out. He was in the Northern Africa campaign before being captured by Italians, handed over to Germans. He was then marched through Italy and Europe to a POW camp in Poland. He says the bravest, fiercest people had ever met were Gurkhas, which he all through his life had utmost respect for. My other grandad was in Italy, he was riding a motorbike with a friend that ended up under a lorry, his friend was killed and my grandad has had a bad leg ever since v:)v
my grand father was stationed at the coast of skania during WW2(he was also sympathist for the germans so i believe he joined up with the the nazis )
My grandfather fought against russians in the Continuation War. He destroyed two t-34 tanks with an anti-tank cannon that had a partially broken wheel. He also once saw a lone russian soldier, without a gun, washing himself near a lake. Being a good person, my grandfather let him go. He said the ruskie was too young to die there.
A grand-grandfather in WW2
My step-dad was a mechanic in Iraq war.
my dad's great uncle was blown to pieces by a mine in Vietnam. you guys ever see that movie "Thin Red Line"? the squad/platoon that plays in that movie was his actual squad/platoon.
My uncle was in the Border War with Angola.
Grandfather: Fought somewhere in Europe with the Germans. Cousin: Fighting in Afghanistan in tanks.
My dad is in the US Air Force and recently went to Bagram AB in Afghanistan. hes a SMSGT but never went on any planes, just worked maintenance on them. He brought us back 3000 USD worth of Afghan Money, a scorpion in fiber glass. some shirts, dog tags, jackets, the National Stone, and some army beanies. the clothes are all Military Grade stuff and are aaaaaaawesome! [editline]05:20PM[/editline] My grandpa on my moms side was a marine then a fire fighter. my dads brother was in the marines, now hes a fat slob that works on a ginseng farm. My Dad's dad was in the Air Force I believe
In WWII one of my great-grandfathers was in the Romanian Nazi army and another one was in the Red Army. True story. None of them died though.
my great granddad was in a POW camp in japan in WWII or something and had nightmares every night until 2002 when he died he was a badass though
my dad was in the gulf, more specifically, the invasion of kwait. i have a few cousins who have been, are in, or going to be in iraq. unfortunatly, im disqualified to serve because of a mental disorder. or else i would have joined.
Quite a long time ago, but I once fought for MEC. One of the battles I especially remember occurred at the Gulf of Oman. Our 32 platoon managed to seize an American hangar ship. But then they dropped artillery on it, which caused us to loose the ship. We had to swim back to shore :v:
My great grandfather fought in the finnish winter war and continuation war. Died in the 1950s in some construction accident.
My great great great Grandfather, he drove an oil tanker around the front lines in WW1. :smug:
