FRICK YEAH. I hate Germans.
racist fucker
not all germans are nazis you moran
All the men in my family fought in world war 2, because of conscription. One of my great grandfathers was a standard rifleman and was simply killed (Not much that we know about him)
My other great grandfather was a sapper, cut barbed wire, placed it, placed landmines, deactivated mines, etc.
During the war he had a grenade explode right next to him and a bullet tear through his wrist. He had trouble hearing and such for the rest of his life. My great, GREAT grandpa was a Russian Hussar. He had an eyepatch because one of his eyes was shot out so he rode on the WW1 battlefield in style.
My grandpa says he was a crazy mofo until he died. I've got a bunch of my great grandpas shit, including a soviet WW2 helmet, belt, army "manual" (They had those, it gave information such as how to effectively take cover, how to reload the weapons, what part of a tank to throw the grenade at, etc)
My great grandpa is also the guy I was named after. Peter xD.
My grandpa has "Peter"s mosin nagant in the cabinet in his house back in a town beside Moscow.
My moms mom had like 5 sisters and 1 or 2 of them were hanged by the Germans.
Oh, and my current uncles had all been in the military, and my dad would have been conscripted into the VDV (Russian airbourne commandos) if he had not went to university
My Great, Grand-Uncle was one of the first waves that landed on Omaha Beach. I knew for a fact that he was a Corporal, carried his 'small carbine'. I never really got to talk much about his war experiences (he probably does not want to) but he did in fact got his ring finger blasted off (with the wedding ring).
He was able to recover the ring though.
im pretty sure if a mine detonated anywhere near his head, especially if a bouncing betty made to detonate up to head height, he would've gone deaf from the explosion and his brains rattled by shockwave. Explosives just don't depend on shiny flame explosions or sharp shrapnel, they depend on the energy/shockwave it causes as well.
It flew WAY above his head, I dont know the full story, I know he stepped on a defaulted bouncing bettery and it didn't go off properly, a helmet would protect from shrapnel from above, I know he did take some shrapnel from some occasions, this was probably one
unharmed my ass.
lets examine his claims
The only known massacre done by the US of any German surrendering troops because of the holocaust is of Dachau, even then, it was publically known and investigated.
hence known, again he didn't take part in the massacre.
So, I would like where this so-called slaughter took place, because if a mild slaughter/massacre took place, there would've been investigations of a slaughter of whole fucking town. Even the Soviets didn't do this, they raped them instead.
He didn't take place in the massacre, he just walked through the town after it happened.
So, nearing the battle of Berlin, where the Germans took their last stand for their Fuhrer and country, they were somehow in the woods? With 6 men? Doing what? Patrolling? Patrols doesn't involve 6 men walking in the woods, it involves a Jeep or any vehicles, walking is in ineffective, and I'm pretty damn sure most Nazi soldiers were at Berlin fighting. If they were deserting, no point in raising a luger, they would just surrender seeing as they just lost the war. Besides, one of them is an SS officer, highly doubt they deserted.
They were cut off from the front lines, It was sometime before the end of the war against Germany, so a few months to weeks before Berlin, give or take.
To answer number one, you must not have read it correctly, because it said that the mine flew high over his head, and he was unharmed, as the shrapnel was too high.
Number 2 is also simple. He was probably on patrol duty, and came across the Germans by accident.
For number 3, there have been multiple accounts of this happening, especially at the end of the European Theater, when more men were needed in the Pacific.
He actually though he was going home, but instead they took him to the pacific.
You know engineers just didn't sit on there ass's all day, they actually went into combat, he was probably in the woods CLEARING MINES.
My Grandfathers in WW2. One was in the SS, and had half of one leg blown off by explosives.
Other grandfather was an Engineer and later one of the very top engineers for Bell Canada Phone Service, developing the system they have.
Grandmother on my fathers side was a refugee and literally ran from mid-russia to the Sea, and their entire band of refugees were being hunted by SS troops. Eventually she and my grandfather met (SS Grandfather), and they ended up in America together and moved to Canada. Not sure how they met or if he defected or what.
My Half-Brother was a 2Lt. in the Canadian Navy. My sister's boyfriends friend is Infantry at an FWB in Afghanistan right now, and actually had to light up a truck driver at point blank range when he pulled out a pistol at a checkpoint.
my grandpa was in the korean war also
he went into a pond cause it wasn't poisoned to wash up, and a sniper shot him in the shoulder.
also when he was on base some private blew the emergency lid off of a tank and it flew off and nailed my grandpa in the hip. he has a limp because of that.
My grandfather was a high ranking Chief in the Navy during the Korean war, I'm pretty sure he was a Master Chief.
My cousin's husband is currently serving in the US army, stationed at Germany right now...
That's all I know of my close family.
My grandfather fought in the Pacific Theatre during WWII, he flew p38 Lightnings.

Your Pa was a boss because only bosses can fly a plane as cool as that.
My great uncle served in WWII in the 82nd Airborne's 505th PIR.
My great grandfather was a tail gunner on a B24. :patriot:
Got shot down near the German-Swiss border, and stayed there for the rest of the war.
He always said the Swiss were in cahoots with the Nazis.
A lot of my family has served in the military, but no wars
My grandfather served as a Southern Vietnam high-ranking officer. Shot in the neck, but thanks to fast medics, successfully recovered.
My grandpa worked at NASA with the JPL on the Apollo space missions if that counts. he was also a soldier in the korean war but i don't know his rank.
My second grandpa (i have three) Fought in WW2 and was 76 at the time of his death in the 1980's i never got to meet them.
My Grandpa was in Vietnam and my uncle was in desert storm and is currently a mercanary under Ideal Innovations In Afghanistan.
My Grandpa was enlisted in the Navy during WWI
(Unrelated: He was also the youngest copilot in the history of the US)
My uncle was enlisted in Vietnam.

My second grandpa (i have three)
What.
Oddly enough, I don't have family members who served in wars, but plenty who have war stories...
Like, my mother's uncle, who spent months in a basement sitting on sacks of potato when he was six years old in WWII, because it was too dangerous to even leave it. And he also told about when everyone hid in the town hall's basement, and the Russians threw in a grenade, but it thankfully killed no one...
Or my grandmother (on mother's side), who was with her friend once when the US planes started bombing, and she couldn't reach the nearest air-raid shelter, so she hid at the traintracks, while her friend reached the shelter. Then when the bombing ended, she went to the shelter, only to find it completely devastated by a spot-on bomb, along with her friend...
Or my grandfather on father's side, who was robbed by a Russian soldier in the graveyard.
But it's not as cool as family members who fought in war, duh.
My dad is a fighter pilot.

To the guys rating me hearts, I didn't mean that he's dead, just stopped being a fighter pilot
Grandfather was in WWII AND Vietnam. What. What. What. Badass.
I have nothing but the utmost respect for almost all veterans... but my Ex-Step-Uncle joined the war, and it was great that he was gone. He was an asshole, beat up his wife all the time, and just some more dickish things. Thank god his wife got a divorce as soon as he came back.
A relative of mine in Canada signed up to the air force in WW2. He did his 25 missions, then signed up for another 25. After the war the government gave him his own bit of a land and a plane. He found oil and got rich.
My great grandpa was at the battle of Gallipoli, he covered alot of soldiers backs when they had to retreat and carried 4 back to safety, then got hit by a mortar. :australia:
Great Grandfather was wounded in the Battle of the Somme, He lost a leg and 3 fingers.
He died in Britain. Just 1 day away from coming home to be treated at Noble's Hospital.
I'm from sweden and since we haven't been at war since 1814 i don't got that many relatives that been fighting in a war. But i do got a cousin that's in the us airforce, just got home from afghanistan. But i also got a distant relativ that died in france during ww2 fighting for the britts. And i surerly got some relatives that fought for sweden in the Great Northen War and other major wars during our years as a major power
like everyone in my family lol
to start:
great grandfather from the german side of my family heres the last pictures ever taken of him before he went to russia

then my great grandfather from my italian side of the family he was an officer and commanded men in ethiopia.

my dad and all of my uncles were in one of the branches of the military(all airforce one in the navy), and my brother just got back from his tour in iraq, he just finished up leadership school (promoted to sargeant) and now hes in airbourne school, his next stop is afghanistan. after my last year of highschool im joining the airforce to go into security forces, a military family i guess lol
My paternal grandfather was a freedom fighter in Denmark during WWII. My maternal great-grandfather fought in WWI, lost his mind when he returned and began to hunt Austrians in his backyard. He died shortly thereafter.
My great grandfather was a policeman before World war II and then joined the army to become a military policeman, then after the war he became a policeman again.
He was also at the liberation of Bergen Belsen.
And my uncle served as a mechanic in the RAF during the first gulf war.
My great uncles fought in WW2 against Italy when they tried to invade Ethiopia. 3000 years of independence and counting.
My grandad was 16 in Poland at the second world war. His dad get taken to a POW camp and died after the war. My grandad however ran away from home after being wanted for being in the Polish underground army. His mum and brother got blown up by a bomb that killed everyone in their street. He was them captured and taken to a POW camp where he was eventualy free'd then he had the choice to move to England or Poland. He came to England and is still alive today. That is a realy rushed version. He also punched a German in the face to stop him from finding a gun he was transporting.
My great great grandfather skied across half of Siberia over to Finland with three brothers, during the tsar's reign. One got shot in the leg and had to stay behind in a gulag for over 30 years...
Out of the two left, one moved to Sweden and the other stayed in Finland. He was then shot by communists during the civil war (he was a bank manager... I may not have known him, but what was the reason for him to die?).
Then his son, my great-grandfather, fought in the Winter War as a prison guard because he spoke Russian, he hated Russia and the language so much that he never taught it to his son.
My great-grandfather on my paternal grandmothers side fought in the Winter War as well at the front lines, shame I never met him. He got a bullet to the back and had to leave the front. I don't know much about my mother's side.
