We welcome change and openness; for we believe that freedom and security go together, that the advance of human liberty can only strengthen the cause of world peace. There is one sign the Soviets can make that would be unmistakable, that would advance dramatically the cause of freedom and peace. General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization, come here to this gate. Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate. Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!
Mr. Vice President [Henry A. Wallace], Mr. Speaker [Sam Rayburn], members of the Senate and the House of Representatives:
Yesterday, December 7th, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—[the] United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.
The United States was at peace with that nation, and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its Government and its Emperor [Hirohito] looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific. Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in the American island of Oahu, the Japanese Ambassador to the United States [Kichisaburō Nomura] and his colleague [Saburō Kurusu] delivered to our Secretary of State [Cordell Hull] a formal reply to a recent American message. And while this reply stated that it seemed useless to continue the existing diplomatic negotiations, it contained no threat or hint of war or of armed attack.
It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. During the intervening time the Japanese Government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.
The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian Islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. I regret to tell you that very many American lives have been lost. In addition American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco and Honolulu.
Yesterday the Japanese Government also launched an attack against Malaya.
Last night Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong.
Last night Japanese forces attacked Guam.
Last night Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands.
Last night the Japanese attacked Wake Island.
And this morning the Japanese attacked Midway Island.
Japan has, therefore, undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area. The facts of yesterday and today speak for themselves. The people of the United States have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our nation.
As Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense.
But always will our whole nation remember the character of the onslaught against us. No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.
I believe that I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost but will make it very certain that this form of treachery shall never again endanger us.
Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory and our interests are in grave danger.
With confidence in our armed forces—with the unbounding determination of our people—we will gain the inevitable triumph—so help us God.
I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December 7th, 1941, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese Empire

Also, pun intended
Get a fancy sound effect to play into the phone that has an Arab screaming "FOR ALLAAAAAAAAAAH! *cheering* *explosion* and make sure that the guy on the phone hears it. And make sure it's VERY high quality.
Block his number?
I could fake my own death, or have my parents do it for me. >:D
Just say you know nothing about it...
Or one of your friends filled it out as a practical joke...
If you have to go, and they ask why you wanted to join "I just wanted free sunglasses" is probably gonna get a few laughs anyway =]
Say you've changed your mind, or someone else filled it in for you as a joke ^^^^^ Great minds think alike

what a idiotic move, just say it's all a mis-understanding
Recruiters are pretty stubborn. They will go to surpricingly great lenghts just to make you join. Even if you tell him the truth he will try and talk you into joining anyway. Some even try to play on your conciuos.
Answer it and say someone else filed it in as a prank.
Tell them they're calling to pizza hut and that they are blocking the customers calls.
tell them if they send you to parris island you'll probably die in basic training
Say you have school and don't have time to join the marines.
Say you are a White Nationalist. 99% chance that they do not want you.
Be smart about it and ask them to stop calling?
"Sir, I love my country, and if I had to, I would fight for it, but with all due respect, sir, I just don't see the Marines Corps in my future. I may reconsider it, but as for now, I don't."
And if that doesn't work, just flat out tell them you're annoyed. Or try to make it as nice as possible

Or just tell them to fuck off, there won't be any difference.
[QUOTE=FPChris;16689492]Tell them you're joining the Navy

I don't think he's like that.
[QUOTE=FunnyFirstPost;16690846]I don't think he's like that.[/QUOTE]
Isn't the Navy also a part of the Marine Corps?
You just have to fill out forms and you get into the Marines?
No wonder so many US soldiers get killed.
Here in Australia there's 3 or 4 lots of testing (depending on what you go in for) before you enlist and you can back out of it at any point during then.
I did the first lot of testing (aptitude, basic medical test (colour blindness)) and decided I wasn't ready for it just yet, so when they called up I told them that. Because I was just deferring it I was put onto an 'inactive' list or something so they wouldn't call me any more, but nothing they had on me would be thrown out.
Just make sure they KNOW you're not signed up otherwise you'll end up like that guy who got arrested because they thought he deserted.
Also I hope that the glasses are at least some good ones.
