Especially since half of them are the same tom.
I am speechless.
New photo (cause I liked how the sunlight shone over the cymbals ) So far my setup is (left to right) Open hats (rim is a subdrop), Military-type snare (rims are..rims on this one), toms 1-3 (tuned down 2 steps). Cymbals are Crash (bell is a splash) and China. Oh, and both pedals are bass pedals (who needs motherfucking hihat control rite)
sweet electric man, you think you'll get any of those as mesh heads later on? [editline]05:29PM[/editline] also I got no pictures of my old pearl kit and it's all packed up for banding and shit:frown:
On other news I will (hopefully) be joining my first band! The play metal which wouldn't be my first choice but beggars can't be choosers! The lead singer asked me if I knew off time beats... I don't have a clue what that is any help for a drumma from a drumma?
Off-time beats is basically a beat where you go off beat :P Jazz and progressive metal bands like Dream Theater use it often. Listen to Erotomania from Dream Theater. They don't follow one specific rythm through the whole song.
Yeah i get you Skog . Keep the commets going guys :P

Yeah IMO that doesnt even look setup so it might of just been put away or something amirite? Anyway does anyone know any good drum books to buy as i've decided to try and learn from one.
I really don't advise learning from a book, I think you'd make more progress just playing along to songs and watching youtube videos (that's what I've found anyway) I find that drum book are too diverse, though that may just have been because I've never seen like a dedicated metal drumming one, every book I've had, I just play the few "rock" beats that there are, which are always easy as fuck, and then ignore the rest of the genres because the don't sound very good in my opinion.

Getting a teacher is the best method to learn though.

I used to have this one book that gave you things from every genre and contained atleast 50 beats for each section ranging from beginner to godly drummer.
Oh god I'm seriously considering getting electric drums in place of my real set, since drums aren't my main instrument, I'm prepared to make the necessary sacrifices. I'll have to think some more...
This is a mistake a lot of new drummers make. If you just just play metal you will never be a great drummer imho
eddah i think you have a point , but its more fun to play
