I myself prefer Pro-Mark and Vic Firth sticks over any other brand.
Some picturess of my set. The pictures were taken with a DSi so it's not the best quality. It's a small set, but I like it.
Thats a nice set dude :D Qualitys not that bad IMO.
How much you guys think Danny Carey's drum kit costs?
Holy crap look at the angles on his beaters!!!

I prefer my toms really close, as close as possible without touching, and I prefer my snare flat, or almost flat.

Danny's kit is made out of melted down Paiste 2002 Cymbals. It's one of two kits of that kind made, the guy who built it's name is Jeff Ochletree. [editline]01:59AM[/editline]
Ahead sticks are terrible to use, in my opinion. I love Pro-Mark sticks =) I switch out between my Pro-Mark 420s (Portnoy signature) and my Vic Firth Dave Weckl signature stick, nylon tipped. I don't love the brown coating on them since it's all chipping off (expected) and when I flip my sticks over occasionally, to get a stronger attack on the snare/toms, it leaves brown shit on my heads lol. I also use some Vic Firth 7as I think, maybe a 5a when I want a wood tip to play with, for a jazzier cymbal sound. [editline]12:22PM[/editline] I love how his toms are, but I'm not a huge fan of his cymbal layout. I prefer semi-flat cymbals with a small angle towards you, that are pretty low so you don't have to reach far to hit them.
He probably doesn't have to reach much, he's fucking huge.
Yeah same here. Seems really spaced out , unles your tall or big.
I have lanky arms so my drumkit takes up a lot of my basement.
Yeah same here. Seems really spaced out , unles your tall or big.
I am pretty tall, with very lanky limbs. I just don't like to reach to hit shit, there's no need to put forth extra effort, unless I run out of space and have to put it that far away. Gavin Harrison stated it well, saying you should be able to hit about everything on your drum set without your elbows leaving your sides. It's a waste of energy, in my opinion, as well as being more annoying play with shit spread out.
Eat up the quality of my shit cymbals muahaha :D
If anyone buys the Magazine "Rhythm" and got August's issue, (featuring Tommy Lee interview) if you turn to page 100, there's the buyers guide question from me published in! :D a whole page just for me! Pretty useful answer from Geoff too.
Hehehe thats epic IMHO
Yes,yes it is. Also i liek my kit very small and compact so i can reach everything with ease. I hate it spread out :v:
Wahao. The band is gonne record soon, and we've bought all sorts of stuff for better drumsound, new mics, stands etc. I'm stoked(again).
I made your avatar! :buddy: Drums are pretty fun to play, I normally play guitar but sometimes me and my friend does drum'n'bass jams and then I play drums.

I have a I think it is Pearl set it has 7 bits by my count - snare, high hats, ride, bass, floor tom and two tom-toms. I just passed Grade 3 :D I was well nervous because I fluffed loads of it largely because I couldn't hear the fucking music >:(
I've always wanted to play drums. I might pay for lessons later this year.

That's the exact reason I don't drum often. :o
