Yummy :3:
I want to learn Come As You Are , it seems very very very fun to play :v:
I have to memorize Toro! Movement 1: El Toro Rojo on Marimba 3. Any tips on how to memorize? And tips on using 4 mallets?
Anyone know of a good site that has good prices for drums? I am a beginner and would love to buy a set to play on.
http://drums-percussion.musiciansfriend.com/ is good, but if you can get lucky try craigslist, my one friend got a great set along with a bass guitar and some mics for only $500. Also you will need to be willing to spend like around $600 or more for a good beginner set.
I love to play drums! I play mainly metalcore sets, axis doubles, gotta have my zildjian china aswell. I really need to buy a set, instead of playing at GC all the time! Though me and a friend that go there do get a small crowd on occasion.

Dont put your fellow drummers down.

Please assume things from a few sentences on the internet, it makes you smart.
Anyway, I had a set built, played it alot, can't buy it though, not yet. Expensive stuff, but for good reason, and worth every penny. Also, I just can't seem to keep up a blast beat at quarters for more than a few seconds, any tips?

Don't use your arms when blasting. Either use your wrist, or your fingers. I use my wrists for slower tempos with blasts. But when it starts getting fast i switch to the 'Flying Fingers' technique. Look up some tutorials on youtube. Its quite hard to keep it going for longer than five seconds when you first start. But, keep practicing, on a practice pad..or any surface with good rebound. Eventually your balance will become better with your fingers and you'll be able to blast for longer .
Also, what is this expensive set?

Practice slowly and then rise in tempo when you can keep it steady.
Thanks a bunch guys, the set was: A good Truth kit, Maxon axis pedals, six zildjians. The 2 large crashes and the China were always my favorite, Evans heads.
I can blast for several seconds until it comes to quarters, so i will keep your tips in mind, thanks a mil again.
Also, what exactly is a gravity blast? I have probably done them without knowing what they were called, I am always hoping to improve, but I'm not quite a beginner anymore at least.
Because I couldn'y be arsed seiving through 20 pages of mindless small talk about drums, I'm going to ask for a suggestion on an electric set of drums. :) (I kid, I enjoyed reading the first 3 pages)
I need a cheap-ish kit (no more than £800), and I've already looked at a few.
The first of which being Roland's TD-3. My friend has one of these AFAIK, and it's got a nice variety of realistic sounding sounds. I can't find any anywhere that are new except eBay, where they're all Pickup-Only and convieniently in South London. You've probably also understood I'm from the UK. :)
A second option is Alesis' DM5 w/ Surge cymbals. I've not been able to test one of these myself because the music shop near me is a piece of crap for drums and only stock high-end Rolands. From countless reviews and Youtube videos watched, it does seem like quite a decent kit, but I don't much see the point in the Surge cymbals, other than the fact that they're real, and not just trigger pads.
Third kit is Roland's TD4V I think, which is practically just the same as the TD3 with a "better" brain.
What could you guys suggest to me, as I'm only a beginner (with a natural sense of rhythm, mind you)?
O hello thaar. What an awesome thread you have here, I shall enter teh conversation.
First of all, I am a drummer too. Been playing about 4-5 years, and I am 100% self learned, never had a teacher. But im still doing fine IMO. I have played in few bands, my alltime number 1 project shall not be named right here since we dont have any new material, but my 2nd band was www.myspace.com/immortalangelica (I dont play on the clips on myspace, thats their crappy old drummer). Nowdays Im only Session member.
My kit: Pearl Ex- black set( 8" 10" 12" 14" 14" 21"), Alesis DM5 triggermodule, Pearl/Sonor/Tama Hardware, Paiste/Meinl/Zildjian symbals, Pearl ancient pedals lol
Heres a few videos about me playing. First one is my newest drum cover, and second one is live audition with Immortal Angelica.

So you only want E-kit? I had a TD3KV few years back and I liked it very much, so I can suggest that. I think the price has gone down too since those days when I bought it.

The cellist there is not official member, altho he is a guy, but he is also a session member only. And oh, the crowl vocalist is only featuring on this gig, he is from my other band

I would be happy if I could do Bleed, but that would take some time : ) The footwork on that is the most frustrating part
