Those are some awesome pedals! My teacher Kai Hahto is doing a "Pearl Eliminator Demon Drive Tour" and goes around Finland telling about them and showing them in action etc. Many professional drummers think they are even better than Axis. I hope I can buy those sometime in the future. :)
Dude.. Kai Hahto is the man! And I can really agree with that statement, as I think that Demon Drive has alot better feel than axis, witch is also good pedal ofc. Demon drive has really nice touch, specialy if you have played with Pearl Eliminators. The feeling is somehow the same, but Demon drive is alot more responsive and sensitive and more powerfull. Oh man, I think i have adjusted the pedal longer than actually played with it. Trying to get the optimal adjustments for myself
*DONT READ THIS: * missä hahto pitää tunteja??? siinä on kyllä astetta kovempi kaveri :S */DONT READ THIS*
Are they as versatile as the Trick pedals? Can you adjust everything?

Sielä Vaasas se ne pitää :D
I have tried Trick and the new Demon drive pedals. But i went with axis. They..just felt better for me. And they are HELLA fast.

It's actually a very easy song to learn. Shouldn't take more than 1-3 hours of practice to nail it.

I have the basic beat down, I just need to get 2 measures of a more complex part down. I also need to pay attention more to he sheet music, I keep missing the crash cymbal.
One of my friends is getting his cousin's huge set for Christmas. He's really lucky too, since he can't play drums for shit, and I doubt he's going to take learning them seriously. At least I'll be able to go over and play them.

Ah, I'm 100% self-taught. I took band for a year (5th grade, 8 years ago) and I can solidly keep time. I could easily go back to reading music, but since I only play for fun I would rather stick to learning by ear.

Dude. Dont focus on how fast you can play. Focus on how fast you can play smoothly. I recomend that you take the speed down a little and try this: what tempo you can play doublebase for 1-2minutes without problems. When you find that tempo, practise it 10000 times. Then add +5-10 to the tempo and do it again.
I should make a video about my feetwork with the demons.

I'm kinda getting into that too but the point in the video was only the speed, even though for a 3 seconds worth.

You make that seem way too easy.
How the fuck do you do a blast beast anyways?
From a Spikeydrummer video i saw you use a technique called "Flying Fingers', where you hold the stick with your pointer and thumb, and use your other fingers to push the stick. I probably explained that wrong so here is the video.

To be brutally honest, that is absolutely terrible.
You make that seem way too easy.
Maybe, but it is pretty easy thing to learn, but to master blast beats, it takes alot of practise. I am suprised even myself how smoothly I play blast, since I have not recorded my play for some time :S I thought I would be shaking like some retard.
I should make a video (with better camera) about my own practise style. I think I have some good things some of you may find usefull, nothing spectacular tho.

Please do post some vids and tips. I've found my old double pedals again, and I'll probably record some metall-drumming to playalongs.
Anyway, been awhile since I've recorded some playalongs, since I've been recording with my band, so heres a new vid. Abit of chopsy funk. Also, link to the band-track(just clicktrack and drums atm)

Your kit sounds absolutely great! Loving it. And I really would like to have some of that jazzy/groovy feel on my play that you have. Nice playalong

Thanks man. I love my Gretsches, and I've been mixing lately, so I got some nice sounds out of it.
I've always love the drums, for years and years.
I finally bought a set and it got delivered today.
Now I just need to learn how to play :D.

If you want to build control learn some snare rudiments. Like paradiddles, double stroke rolls, five stroke rolls.
I'm trying to learn to play Limelight, by Rush... -_- Hard as fucck

First learn how to hold the stick correctly.
First learn how to hold the stick correctly.
Trust me, if you're not holding the sticks right when you do simple snare rudiments right you'll find out soon enough. But yeah, learn to hold the sticks right.
