I didn't know I had to slap IMO onto everything. I understand there's no such thing as "best", there is however a "best to me" and whatever I implied, I only meant that they're the best for me.
Ah well, maybe I'm taking the internets too seriously.
No. No drummer is the greatest of all time. There will always be better, and people have different opinions on what makes their favourite, the best. Ginger did a good job in Cream though, even if he was jumped up on smack for all those years. It's a miracle he survived.
Personally i think the worlds best drummer at the time, is the guy from meshuggah.
Bought a somewhat used 10" Paiste Metal Splash, and I have to say I absolutely love it. It seems to fit with any kind of music I'm playing, and for the price (I got it for $40 used, about $75 new) it's a great deal. I just hope it lasts long.
My 18" crash which I bought used from eBay is getting pretty badly cracked. I counted about 3 small cracks then a crack that's about 2 inches long. :sigh:

Did he say it was cracked?
Did he say it was cracked?
No. I got it back in mid September, uncracked. I'm pretty sure it cracked because two weeks ago my friend was dicking around with it and may have started a crack, which turned to many. Either way I'm pissed because it sounds like shit now.
Heres an absolutely ridiculuos drummer for ya'll. His name is Dave DiCenso. Sick!

Not bad. Sort of punk-rock meets funk. I´d guess he´s a hardcore drummer.
Also, two new drumming vids up.
half-time shuffle'ish:

Latino'ish:

Oh, and ignore me making fish-mouths while I'm playing. Dunno why I do it.

It's okay, a lot of drummers do it, including me sometimes. It's something to do with subconsciously mouthing the patterns and breathing.

I missed a few things but I vowed to have atleast one video up yesterday. Someone suggest me some metal-ish, rock-ish, or punk-ish songs to cover.

Hehe, this one time during recording, I yelled out "flabbadabbadam" while I was playing some flams. Other people in the band laughed their nuts off.
I watched your vid and have these suggestions. The sound was very distorted or low quality, dunno what recorder you are using, or if it's youtube thats fucking it up. Of what I could hear, sounded good. What you need to work on is timing on fills. I had this same problem. What you do is practice your fills slowly to a metronome. Play a beat for 3 counts, and then a fill on the 4th. Also, if/when youre practicing single strokes, practice to a metronome and count out loud. Also work on pedal-accuracy. Mine was pretty bad, so I practiced my feet like I did my arms. Since you got double-bass, it will be easier.

Yeah, you can blame the horrible webcam program for the quality. :B
I'm still working on the fills and pedal accuracy, thanks for the advice though.
Just for the sake of double-bass warm up...

Nice tama kits...
I started onto a $200 kit as well but im upgrading to a Tama Superstar Hyperdrive with Sabian B8 Cymbals and Iron Cobra pedals :D
Just buy a cheap kit and later on when you learned the basic loops etc upgrade to a beter kit that's my opinion Tbh..
Just have a great time playing and think about what you got, and not about what you don't got.
Greetz*
IMO you would want to upgrade those cymbals fast. Better yet make them Paiste PST5's. I myself prefer Sabian over any brand but Paiste PST5's are the best bargain cymbal there is imo.

Glad to see there are some more DiCenso lovers out there!
Does anyone known where I can get some good free drum tracks? I want something that would be good for jamming to on guitar.
Shit man, i keep forgettingabout this beautiful thread since the Music section aint on the front page :(
It's on the front page just not at the top. Anyone know good loops to drum to that are rock/metal?
Bumping the thread with a new shuffling drum-vid.

*Sigh*... I haven't played drums for about 5 weeks now... Well a little maybe. I should pull together and start practicing hard again. But I sure could use some new pedals. Fucking millenium pedals. They cost like 30 - 50€ :v:

Hot damn, that's some great playing. Do you like Steve Gadd? The tuning of that kit/your playing really reminds me of him.
