Anyone know any really good really cheap electric kits? I hate having little money and little room :(
How much do you think a £800 kit would have depreciated after a year? I don't want to sell my kit but might have to right now.
My uncle gave me his second-hand drums, and sometimes the hi-hat can lock into closed position and i have to stomp the petal to open it back. They're pretty old, and it's missing a crash-ride cymbal. Other than that, I enjoy playing it. So far I only learned one song by myself with help from drum tabs.

Also I'm a beginner at drums, so I don't know shit.

My friend got a Pearl Vision SSX limited edition it is AWESOME... compared to mine
Gah, havent played drums in 3 days. I'm going insane!! The one thing I don't like about christmas: too much family stuff going on..
Got a good amount of new drum stuff for x-mas, now I can finaly play some Dream Theater songs.
Woot for Christmas I got (drum stuff)
Eliminator double
Pork pie bigboy throne
Roland TD-6V
Drum Dial
I might use my electric kit with my acoustic kit somehow but I'm soooo glad I got the dbl pedal and throne ha the throne is SOOOOOOO much more comfy than my crap old imperialstar throne ha
Gonna buy me a Roland Td4kx and Superior Drummer 2.0 tomorrow. Now I can finally practice at home!
Now that I think about it, I should buy a new pedal (lol one bass drum). I fucking hate the one I have. I was thinking about buy something from Iron Cobra, any suggestions?
Have you guys seen the Demon Drive pedal? It looks incredible from what I can gather. Pricey though.
I'm getting a 7 piece mic set on Tuesday, gonna record me some drums.. EXCITING BUSINESS
Td9k, wohoo! I'll record a video in the next few days.

Iron Cobra pedals are made by Tama, and they are pretty nice pedals. You should also check out Pearl Eliminators, I have heard good things about them. Your best bet is to sit down and try a selection of pedals and pick the one you like the feel of the best.
Also Thaard, you lucky bastard

Ah, ok. I'll check those out. Thanks.
Today I picked up a set of Evans new EC2 SST Heads in 10"12"14"16"(Don't ever buy from the store, this ran me up to $76 BUY ONLINE PEOPLE). I haven't actually got to "play/test" them but they are incredibly easy to tune its actually funny! I still use my drum dial to fine tune and what not but so far they are far different from Coated G2's. I'll be able to give a half decent review tomorrow!
If you get Iron Cobras be sure to get the cobra coil too.
Going into the studio with my band tomorrow, hopefully I'll have some pics/videos/recordings to post within the next week or so.

Noted.
Gonna go to my uncle as well, see if he can't hook me up with some sweet deals.
Meh short review
EC2 SST= AWESOME HEAD!
I love them but there a heck of a lot different from coated G2's
I got the Iron Cobra 25th Anniversary Edition Double Pedal with a Taye RockPro set. Mostly Sabian cymbals (metal-x ride, crash, hi-hats) and some other random cymbals. I am selling my set though, i'm looking for something more kick-ass, as in Pearl Reference. That's gonna take me a while to save up for.

Oddly enough, I have always preferred the sound of the Tama Starclassic series over the Pearl Reference's.
Drummer from For the Fallen Dreams is beast.

Dude I put a EC2 Black Hydraulics on my snare(it's meant for toms though lol), and it is awesome. It's crisp, sharp, and has barely any resonance, which I hate.
I now know why DW drums are expensive. My dad just bought a sick 5 piece kit, it's like broken marble wrap or something, but they sound so good tuned up properly. All their hardware is so solid and the tom mounts are amazing. I might go for a sick set of DW's in a while. Anyone here got DW's?

Drummer is talented

They're expensive because their hand-made.

EC2 /=/ Hydraulic Two very different heads
They do make Hydraulic snare heads but really kill the sound due to the oil between the plys.
Also if you hate resonance then you must hate drums,
I would honestly like to hear your snare if you can upload some soundclips or videos.

Oh yeah you're right. I thought the two were the same because there was an EC2 ad on the back of my box :3:.
Alright, I have a sound demo of my snare, and I have pics of my full set to contribute.

Hum not as bad as I expected.
Sounds like you have that head cranked down, I would loosen the snares a bit but if it works for you
go for it.
