Damn thats good :D
Should it be ultimate thread knowledge (like in the first toast, make it a Drumming Megathread) that the reason you'd want a drum teacher is for technique. And that as a drummer you could bet that if someone is self taught, their techniques won't be nearly as good as a drummer who is taught by a drum teacher?
Big question :D Also I've been playing for 6 years and I think I'm shit.
Hm , everyone thinks thereself is shit , its lack of confiidence , hell ive been playing for like 1 year maybe 6 months and i think im alright :D

that would be beginners cockiness. when you play more you realize that there are soooooo many people out there that can whoop your ass. its not a lack of confidence, its an overflow of modesty
Hm , everyone thinks thereself is shit , its lack of confiidence , hell ive been playing for like 1 year maybe 6 months and i think im alright :D
It's not lack of confidence.
I'm self taught, played 12 years so far, I'm 19 years old, and I think I'm not too good. I can play Rush, watered down Dream Theater (ya know, no quad or tripple kickers, lol), and a lot more. I can make up almost anything I want to, by ear, It's no problem for me...
But what it is, is that you SHOULD feel like you're no good. Whether people tell you you are or not, because it pushes you to do better. You can be really good and think your shit, because you compare yourself to the gods, like Peart, Portnoy, etc. and then you get better and better.
If every good drummer thought they were good, they'd never get anywhere.

"When I play the theatre I play the theatre!"
Hahaha
He is teh awesome.
Is anyone in a band?
If so how long for etc. ?

Not with wheels!
Just a rotating seat on the axis of the Pole.
I was watching A Foo Fighters concert and I felt so shit at drums.
True.
Foo Fighters rule and in my opinion Dave Grohl should be the drummer. - Have you seen him on drums ? :O

I am, for about 5/6 months. We still don't have a vocalist and we only have 1 definite song. The rest are sort of just ideas and they're not really elaborate enough to pass off as full tunes. We just do a lot of covers for now until we can get a singer.
Yeah thats pratically my band , but we have a shit singer :v:
Drums are cool , but i play guitar. they look sexy and i would probs give them a go.

Coolest drum intro to a song BTW.
Unfortunately it's overdubbed to hell.
Yeah :D
thats pretty cool . Also love that song :D its on guitar hero
[editline]06:17PM[/editline]
Any more kits?
I love that song on guitar hero 4 also :D
Fast paced and thrilling IMO
^
:D
Btw what drumsticks does everyone use ?
I'm currently feeling quite comfortable with my Regal Tips.
I will post a picture of my set in a little while but I want to tell you about the great deal I got, I went to guitar center and asked for a good drum set, there was one sitting in the corner that had been sitting there for 3 years and no one had bought it. It was a $1600 dollar set, I got it for 500 :D
Hahaha nice :D
I wish something cool like that would happen to me :D
I might get some plastic drumsticks, apparantly they give amazing sound , but apparntly break so easy
Anyone give me feedback on this ? ^

hmm... interesting. I've never used plastic stick before so I can't say.
I use some generic sticks that were like $10 for a whole bag of them. I think they're 5B's
I'll post pics of my kit tomorrow i think. Also need to fix my sound-card and buy som mics, so i can record.
It's said that apart from practicing, listening to your drumming(through recordings) is the best way to clean up and advance your drumming. Just tossing it out there.
Cool thanks for the feedback.
Thaard what drumsticks you use?

I've gone through so many. Started with those black Lars Urlich sticks, 5a-5b's, then 7a's, and after that i went over to regal tip rockX, then to Jojo Mayer sticks(which are awesome) and now 7a again. They're perfect for my playing. Abit on the light side but with good controll. I use different sticks for music though, but the 7a's can be used for everything in my oppinion. But I mostly play Jazz/funk/fusion and stuff like that. Problem with playing with the 7a's though, is that they dont last very long if i play rock with them. But i bought a pack, so I'll make due.
