Blessthefall songs are great fun to play, lots of energy
Its boring though. I never noticed it before, but QotSA has some of the best drumming I have ever heard. Joey Castillo, you are awesome.
You guys, check out this thread I made on some drumming vids. Hilarious! http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=989779
Tomorrow I'll be recording myself playing Seven Nation Army for you guys.
My first game is going to be Friday. Any tips while marching? [editline]12:35AM[/editline] I wish I could cover songs, too bad I only have 2 toms, a snare, a crash, and a ride that all sound like shit except for the snare. [editline]12:35AM[/editline] Also, I have the Remo Coated Emperor X, buy it. It sounds GREAT. [editline]12:35AM[/editline] and lasts a long ass time
My first game is going to be Friday. Any tips while marching?
What are you marching?

He's gravity blasting on Alien Ant farm and it does'nt fit at all. Good luck trying to sync the songs :P
My first game is going to be Friday. Any tips while marching?
-Stay in step. -Roll your feet, heal-toe. -Don't bounce while marking time -Worry about form rather then where you are supposed to be. -Keep on your toes when crabbing/marching backwards.

And if you mess up, just keep on going like nothing happened. You never want the judges at competitions to know you made a mistake.

Gah, looks like I won't be playing Seven Nation Army today, new drum head still hasn't fucking arrived yet. Starting to annoy me.
Football game half-time shows aren't judged.
I know but its a good habit to start early.
Just learned that my heads have been sent out, if I'm lucky they'll be here tomorrow, if I'm not they'll be here Wednesday. If UPS are dumbfucks it will get here some other day.

Drum head will be getting here today, once it gets here and I get my snare tuned I'll play Seven Nation Army and record it for you guys. Tuned my toms already, (Sound great suprisingly)

New head is here, tuned, just doing a few practice runs than I'll start up my laptop and start recording. Gah, no sound. Mics aren't working well with recording my drum kit. [editline]04:49PM[/editline] Recorded, have to edit the video to add the audio track. [editline]05:47PM[/editline] Video is uploading. Audio track is off though, and my snare sounds like shit when its recorded. I'm also off beat slightly, but its finally here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6odtK8RalBw Here it is!
Consistent timing brah.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6odtK8RalBw Here it is!
The delay between the video and sound is offputting. [editline]07:18AM[/editline] Nice kit though. Decent attempt of the song too.
The reason for the snare sounding like shit is because I have to put the mic someplace somewhat equal distance from all my drums, so it lies on a cymbal stand under the snare, so you don't actually hear the kit you just hear the snare thingy mabobbers. I also know its crash throughout the part where I went ride cymbal but meh, I liked hitting my ride cymbal more.
I need to get some new hardware and a dedicated crash cymbal instead of a crash/ride, any got a good crash (dark sounding) for around 50 bucks?
This is my uncle's 4-piece Ludwig from 1961. The cymbal next to the high-hat was owned by Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle. I don't know how long ago he got it, though. The bass-drum head is from my uncle being in an early 90's punk band called "Thunder Bunny." They never got past the "playing in bars" stage. He got this set from a pawn shop in the late 70's. It was a piece of junk when they got it, but now it could bring in a lot of money if sold. It sounds pretty good when playing. It's been played many times before so it doesn't have that "fresh out of the case" sound.
Hahaha i like the picture of the 'thunder bunny' on the bass
Ohh, Seven Nation Army. I wonder how long that takes to learn... :banjo:
Ohh, Seven Nation Army. I wonder how long that takes to learn... :banjo:
Not long, its even easier when you're listening to the song on your headphones.
I think the next song I'll learn to play on drums is The Final Frontier by Iron Maiden, it doesn't sound to complex. What the fuck is with automerge?
Not long, its even easier when you're listening to the song on your headphones.
I can play it, and I've never tried to learn it.
Keep the drums alive :v: I might try drumming along to my iPod, but my set always overpowers it ? :/
