Roughly how much was it?
Roughly how much was it?
Somewhere around £2,500 for everything.
I just hit something on my drum that made it rebound so hard, the stick ripped out of my hand bounced off the headphones I was wearing and landed on my hihat... needless to say I have to thank the headphones for taking a blow that would of hit me in the head.
Good man, I hope more people do this.
Remember, once the damage is done there is no going back.
I'm not a drummer (my brother is) I am a bassist but even I will not do a gig unless I have ear protection. I use Alpine Musicsafe ear plugs myself, no one can tell you have them in they are so small.
My dad gigged all his life without protection, he never suffered ear damage. I jam with my buddies a few times a month, I've already got very mild tinnitus. Shit fucking sucks
[editline]11:31PM[/editline]
to all you drummers, what is your general physique? Are you skinny, athletic, Henry rollins mode, or just plain average? I'd assume theres a lot of henry rollinsers, at least most of the drummers I talk to in real life , and myself, are that sort of "don't fuck with me" build

Trust me, if you have played for a while without protection you've suffered hearing loss. Also, I'm skinny, but I'm in drumline and don't own a set.

Skinny as a prisoner of war.
I'm really tall and skinny.

Wow a lot of skinny, got to admit I didn't see that coming.

Hey, we're lean, mean, drumming machines.
Hey, we're lean, mean, drumming machines.
It's a bit of a shock though, there was one drummer I knew who we called slaughter. He was a former rugby player, 6 foot 5 and built like a brick shithouse. and whenever I saw him, he had cut up knuckles, didn't wanna ask how he got em.
I guess I've just gotten used to the "skinny handsome lead singer, pale waifish guitarist, average looking bassist with a beard, Fuckoff huge drummer" stereotype
Got a new crash cymbal, 14 inch AAX dark crash. Oh and a boom stand to go with it.

Are those the cymbals that come with the set or are they a separate pack so you have those, plus the kit's cymbals?

i'm a tall chub guy
to anyone here who used a roland electric kit, how do you record what you're doing? plug kit into amp into computer? or kit into computer?

the kit doesn't have any cymbals with it. So I ordered those separately.

Buy a midi to usb interface cable or a sound-card with a jack. First one is the easiest. You just need a recording program which has midi-support and maybe some drum-synths installed(if not, I recommend EZDrummer. Awesome drum-sounds for an affordable price). The last one(with jack) will record the actual sounds from your roland kit, but you need an external sound card with a slot for your jack-cable, jack cable and a recording program.
If you're having problems with recording, just ask.
6'1-6'2 ish, 135 lbs. Win.
I need to get my cymbals and stands back from my church x.x. I've been playing with just hats and 1 crash cymbal, and someone borrowed my hats yesterday.
