I think I could forgive her, personally
considering the view you'd get from behind the drum set, i think i could, too
Do you guys recommend anything for bass heads? I was going to go for a clear remo emperor.
I think the coated ambassador bass drum head sounds nice. It was on my school's kit and it sounds relatively nice.
I recommend either Remo Powerstroke 3 or Aquarian EMAD(or what they're called).
I'm looking for some new resos, what do you guys recommend?

Also, what notes are the best to tune both reso and batter heads to?

Ambassadors. Clear.

i think you're talking Aquarian superkick I or II depending on the number of plys.
i have the superkick one, it came with a bass patch (important!) and i approve! it's a great great head.
for bass resos, the aquarian regulator heads are really nice
What is bass patch, what does it do, why is it important?

Makes the head last longer, and gives you more attack.
Well a few weeks ago I felt it harder and harder to keep a constant speed on my kick with my right foot. I slowly progressed until I could barely walk right and I just went to the doctor today.
I have tendentious in the tendon that connects the muscle in the front of my right shin to my knee. The only way to fix it is to rest it and not play.
Anyone else gotten this from playing? What could I have done to do this to myself? (Too much practice maybe?)
Work on your technique. I've played double bass for an hour straight practicing it, and my foot is fine.
Stick Control exercises + Matrix Reloaded soundtrack = 2 hours of fun!
If I can manage to do that every day for the next month, I'll have some pretty damn consistent triple strokes and fours.

Check your technique. Either you're tensing too much or you're sitting too low.

Fuck that must be it. I broke the chair I was sitting on and had to start sitting on a cooler.

wow that's some DIY, ghetto seating right there. I know drum stools cost a fair bit, but posture is super important in drums, and you can't really afford to risk your long-term spinal health.
Well I guess you can call me ghettos gerbs

How many toms would your perfect kit have? (asking this to everyone here who wants\owns a kit)
Personally I want 3 rack and 2 floors.
2 floors, 3 rack, snare and backup snare. Minimum amount of cymbals I like is two crashes, a ride, and a hi hat. Unfortunately I only have one crash :(.

My dream kit would also have double floors, if only to utilise the second as a table. toms I'll always have two-rack, that's how my daddy did it, thats how my cousin does it, that's how I'll do it. One snare, a light hi-hat on pedal, a fixed heavy hihat parallel to the pedal one, two crashes, the one to left being a higher pitch than the other, and a heavy ride. God I'd love me a heavy ride cymbal.
Meh, I love Jazzy cymbals. I'm afraid to say it, but to me they don't have the harshness that some more heavy metal oriented cymbals have. And personally, I think they sound better for metal. Which is why I'm hoping for a HH Duo Ride.

Explain the reasoning behind the backup snare.
Explain the reasoning behind the backup snare.
I would only have a backup snare if it had a different pitch or harshness. Other than that, I would also like to hear the reasoning
aux snares are good for playing complex stuff like drum and bass, where you have different snare pitches. Also used a lot in fusion music.
Just removed the black drum wrap from my marching snare, tomorrow or Thursday should be getting white wrap to replace it.
Hardest part of removing drum wrap is removing the grommets without scratching the wood or your self.

That is a pretty tasty ride
i am currently getting pretty close to my ideal setup, i need to pick up an extra snare stand so i can have my wood single ply snare as main, and my metal snare as aux. two racks, one floor. i currently have 2 crashes, i'd like to add another one. and probably some more symbals, but the drums are perfect for me like this.
Do you guys think it would be safe for me to go lefty until my right leg heals up or just not play at all?

I don't think it would be 'unsafe' but the orientation might muck you around a bit
Practice hand-technique.
If i went out and bought a drum stool, how much would I expect to pay for something that is decent?
